    You began correctly by telling what happened 25 years ago in MLB. They began building baseball "universities" for every team in the league in Latin America for the purposes of recruiting and training CHEAP labor for the farm systems. You can still find interviews from prominent ballplayers like Gary Sheffield , who covered this issue decades ago, about the decline of homegrown black MlB talent. Many of the families of the immigrant talent complained about how they were entertainment slaves for a green card. Black Americans dont have that problem. They also tried to float propaganda about black ballplayers having "attitudes" which usually meant , "These uppity nggahs won't play for slave wages". The fact that the league is dominated by Latinos was not an ORGANIC process. MLB ratings have dropped significantly as the attraction was always for the black American Freedmen ballplayers that along with their immense talents, brought charisma and swag. Notice what happens to entertainment products as these industries try to replace Black American Freedmen talent with black-looking immigrant imports. Perfect examples are the decline in HipHop as white-owned recording companies opted for degeneracy with immigrant performers over Freedmen. And now the NBA ratings are tanking as it is tries to convince viewers that they'd rather see gawky Euros like Giannis, Jokic and Doncic as its "best" players.

    Its not just Black American players that are disappearing. So to are American born Latin players. Its just not highlighted because Latin players from all countries are usually lumped together. Only 6% of MLB players are American born Latin players that's the same percentage as Black American MLB players at 6%. The reason IMO is MLB teams prefer to sign foreign born players of color. Because they tend to be cheaper to sign, and can be signed at younger ages. They are also easier to scout in places like the DR where every MLB has a baseball Academy where they can control and groom players.

    Baseball isn't publicly supported at a young age and can be a very expensive sports as far as equipment, playing areas and the traveling that is involved. Tons of basketball courts and all you need is one ball to play either football or basketball. Hell I remember Alyssa Milano doing a go fund me for her son's baseball team.

    Things like this generally have multiple causes. 1. An athlete can make the big money faster in sports like football and basketball. 2. Baseball is a game that guys usually learn from their fathers. However, 70% of black babies are born to unwed mothers, so there’s nobody in the home to teach them. 3. Analytics determine that things like stolen bases should not be highly valued, so players with speed are not as highly sought after. This means that speedsters of the past, like Vince Coleman and Willie McGee, would not be as highly rated today.

    Joe Morgan covered this topic during one of the World Series back in the 90's stating, that "the removal of baseball fields" in lower socio-economically developed areas with the advent of expensive traveling teams, black kids couldn't afford to play what WAS a relatively cheap sport to play. Then add in Football and Basketball remaining "free" as it were, then the numbers exploded because the black kids went where the money wasn't (that is to play). And lastly, a cheap built-in farm system in the Dominican Republic that points almost all of its talent to the sport, and for MLB, a match custom-made for funneling all of the black players you need from a poor underdeveloped nation. As for "black" player fulfillment... problem solved. After all would baseball at the professional ranks be worth watching without the "black" players? I digress. Great Scott

    The christian Europeans, not the Americans were the slave owners. The British, spaniards and the french brought the slaves to the new land. America declared independence in 1776 but did not become a country until 1783 after winning the war against the British who owned and controlled the British colonies for 291 years. The Americans then freed the slaves in 1863 just 80 years after becoming a country under American rule. It was the British, and other European countries that enslaved black people, murdered them, mutilated them, r@ped them sold and bought them.

    The answer to this question is too simple. If you're a stone cold basketball player, you can go from high school directly to the NBA and become an instant millionaire. If you're a great football player, you must spend 3 years in college and you'll get NIL money which could be in the millions. Even if you're pretty good at baseball, you'll spend years in the minor leagues playing for peanuts. I think the choice is obvious.

      This is so true. These kids aren’t raised to want to wait the 3+ years in the minors, plus the 6 years to free agency. When an MLB player hits free agency, most of his African American counterparts from the same high school graduating class have already finished their careers and gone broke. The same reason most of their mothers aren’t trying to wait for a man to finish college, gain traction in their careers.

    • @Beeznhunny

      Your argument is wrong and makes no sense. First, you can’t join the NBA out of high school. Baseball you can be drafted immediately. Second, if you are a good player and go early you get a big signing bonus. Third, not many people good enough to make the NBA would be a good baseball player physique-wise. Regarding football, while there is some crossover arhletes, the NIL money you refer to only goes to the top players who if there were top baseball players would likely get more in a signing bonus and they can go right into their profession and not have to deal with what college athletes deal with. But the problem with your argument is NIL money is a new thing. The lack of black Americans in the MLB has been going on for a while and it took years to get here. It started and has been recognized since long before NIL.

    Not just MLB not getting involved, it’s becoming an elitist sport. It’s getting harder to find rec teams for kids because of clubs and travel ball. On top of that, it’s expensive to play. You need: glove, bat, balls, decent area to play, and typically at least 15 or so players to have a decent game. Football, basketball, and soccer require one ball for everyone. Most areas will typically have fields for soccer/football as well as basketball courts. I love baseball, but until they quit feeling like there’s nothing to fix (executives and fans), it’s gonna be hard to get kids into it. Trevor Bauer made a great case when he was talking about how players like LeBron are accessible to fans, making them feel like they know him better (almost on a personal level). Baseball players tend to be more private, most seem to not want attention. They need to not only invest more but need to connect to the kids like other sports.

    • @Beeznhunny
      @Beeznhunny 7 годин тому

      For an elitist expensive sport it sure is popular in poverty stricken neighborhoods in Latin Amercan nations. Just like it once was here. Where I live in Southern California it is the most popular sport for boys to play, even over football and basketball. We have both Little League and Pony League (Little League is maxed out in teams per their rules and we already split into another league once), we are not a wealthy city like in OC, very few kids do travel ball and all that, too expensive and difficult to travel to where most the other teams would be. In other places we have lived (military family) baseball was much less popular, some places struggled to fill teams. I don’t think its anyone’s fault, its just individual preferences and local histories.

    • @jefflewis4
      @jefflewis4 4 години тому

      Not only that, MLB and College baseball scouts don't go to the local communities to scout a single player anymore. They instead go to these travel tournaments to scout several players at once. Because they know they will see a higher level of competition, then at the local rec or high school level. If your not at these tournaments its much harder to be seen by scouts. That's a huge advantage to middle class and affluent kids, and huge disadvantage for the lower income kids.

    Correction, Affirnative Action FORCED workplaces to meet "Racial" quotas. Which in FACT, DID inevitably lead to hiring under qualified individuals based solely on skin tone. The idea that AA benefited Any "white" person is also false, proven quite simply, by its very use. AA also violates the Civil Rights Act by Discriminating/Favoring one race over another. ON TOP OF THAT! The idea that Black people were kept behind or were not allowed to succeed, being presented by a BLACK MAN that managed to be appointed to a Prominent Position by a Sitting President, pretty much spits in the face of the whole need for AA in the first place. There were MANY well respected, successful and important Black People in History that succeeded despite the obstacles placed in their way. Which makes their accomplishes all the more impreasive. Adversity breeds Strength and an indomitable spirit to those who fight through it. Instead of complaining about perceived past and current "oppressions"..... Overcome and flourish.

      Amerikkka is world's biggest apartheid slave state just like Israel has world's biggest open-prison of Gaza. And both take orders from Satanyahoo.

    This is entirely wrong and you made up connections which don't actually exist. Your entire claim is "napoleon sold Louisiana territory to the US because they lost to Haiti, US became superpower it is today as a result". This is entirely untrue. Even if it was not sold to the US, it would have become US territory within a few years of our own timeline, Americans were swarming the area for settlement and the French never actually really cared too much about their North American possessions outside of Quebec. You are a history revisionist doing so with racial bias, disappointing.

    Affirmative action was meant to right wrongs committed by Whites against people during Jim Crow. It was not for everyone. It was not for Hispanics, gays, lesbians, White women, etc. However, Black people NEVER objected when White women and Hispanics, etc were added. As a result what should have been a program to repair the wrongs against Black people became diluted. And especially Black men got the least benefits from affirmative action. White women hijacked civil rights and now the LBGTQ community is hijacking it again

    I'm sorry, but this feels like a total stretch to me. America was going to go West no matter if we bought Louisiana from the French or not. Just look at how we obtained Texas, California and the rest of the Southwestern USA from Mexico. Same could've happened with France too
