In the Bleak Midwinter - The Honey Trees
In the Bleak Midwinter - The Honey Trees
All rights belong to the Honey Trees
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.
Our God, heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.
Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.
What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him: give my heart.
All rights belong to the Honey Trees

@_@ y did i just discover this!!!!!!!!
Beautiful song, we sang this sometimes in assembly in school back in the sixties. I was looking it up and found this. Thank you.
Great version. Christina Rossetti would approve :)
this is my favourite Christmas song ever! you've literally made my night with this song! absolutely beautiful
God damn. I fucking love The Honey Trees
Man, I love The Honey Trees! See how you can say the same thing...without dragging our Creator's Name through the mud.
I can hear my husband humming this song, in his sleep i think he is unaware of it, but yes, he is humming it, clearly. I've played it now, 40 hrs without hesitation, ifs so hauntingly intriguing, beyound beautiful. B. Forde, Chicago, il.
ive been listening to this nonstop for 24 hours straight. even when i cant play it on my phone, its echoing in my head. one of the most beautiful things ive ever heard. im really glad they didnt include the middle verse, bc im not christian and i wouldve felt kind of uncomfortable singing it; but i feel you still get such an incredibly powerful message of love and hope through these simple lyrics. i can feel the emotion overflowing from my heart with every note. incredible.
I hope you will find the greatest love and hope in Jesus Christ.
I can't stop listening to this, even though its far from christmas celebrations, this song still has such a powerful and simple message that can give you that feeling in your heart you can't explain but wouldnt trade for any thing.
we have to sing this in school i dont like the way we are singing it i like it like this better
Seriously, my favorite voice of all time. Love you Honey Trees!!!
