The Montana behind me claps the dude for 1/3 of his health right as I finish off the Shimakaze. He doesn’t seem to shoot the guy again though, and then sails off to the border for some reason. I stopped trying to figure out why other people do things in this game a long time ago.

I think that was my first match with it. Seems pretty decent. Dispersion was pretty impressive against the bow in Iowa.

This wasn’t a typical Khaba game, since I didn’t really move around much in the beginning. It can be difficult to play Khaba when you need to be a destroyer and contest caps. In this game, my biggest worry was eating a Shimakaze torpedo, since nothing else really had to power to hit me all that hard in a single volley. I couldn’t really push into the Shima since it had a ton of support if I moved further north, so I hung out near the cap to deny it. Islands kept me mostly safe from the Alaska, the Montana lost interest after missing twice, and the Siegfried wasn’t really doing enough damage to make me move. I have a ton of other Khaba replays posted on the channel, it’s my favorite ship to play. Normally I would be out in open water, spotting ships while shooting them, but you have to be able to adapt to the games you get slotted into. Check out some other replays and you’ll start to see more of how it plays. I basically play it as a cruiser that has no citadel. The funky armor scheme makes you incredibly tough to damage and kill, especially for other destroyers.

We were having a frustrating evening. Every game had a carrier if I picked a torpedo destroyer, I could call it pre match. The new spotting mechanics made it tough to get many shots off in this game, but those AA guns put in some good work. Seems like planes are worth a crazy amount of XP to me.

That’s the stock flag that comes on the ship. The one I have added is the Potato Flag. I think the whole Pan Asian line gets that flag in this game, don’t they?

The dispersion can be a little wonky at times, but these guns will always be strong.

I like my caps, especially when I’m sailing in a battleship. If you’ve watched this channel for a bit, you’ll know that Luna is the World’s Greatest Kill Stealer (he has like a 3.72 k/d ratio), so any time he ‘takes’ XP from someone, we have to let him know.

I think the shell velocity makes up for the dispersion. I’ve had a much easier time finishing off wiggling destroyers that are running away with Lüshun compared to something like a Loyang, or even a Friesland. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but the 130mm guns sure seem to pack a punch against most ship types. The worst part about this ship is the agility, but that’s understandable due to the size.

9-0 so far. It’s only real cap contesting threat is another Lüshun or a Z-52. Nothing else can push into this sonar range and have a chance of winning. Most destroyers are forced to limp away, licking their wounds, praying that you haven’t chased them. Once the enemy destroyers have been subdued, this thing turns into a nasty torpedo boat or just a crazy DPM machine with the extra smokes. Once this campaign finishes, I think you’ll struggle to find a T8 game that doesn’t have at least one, until the next big thing shows up.

You must have slapped the Elbing pretty hard, I know I didn’t do anywhere near 34k damage to it, yet it died, quickly. Assisted me in capping. Can’t really fault any ship for dying to a Yamato/Musashi division. I did try to distract them from killing you, that was most of the reason I opened fire on them in the cap. You could have run away, but where’s the fun in that? It seemed like a sure loss at that point anyways. Luckily for us, the Des Moines wanted to win harder. Also, the Shima, LOL.

Yeah they were really trying to give us that win and if that was their goal they were successful. I was really surprised we won cus I left the game

It did look pretty hopeless for the blue team early on.

I use Rumble as a commander. If you search out my earliest Khaba videos, I used to leave the commander build visible before the match. My inspirations are Sims for extra health, and Trubetskoy for damage reduction. I am running an Epic range mod in the last slot as well.

The Tyrwhitt smoke build allows for some silly things. I was spotted a few times, but no one really decided to shoot at me, which was a nice change of pace. Ignoring a Daring is a huge mistake though.

Being in a party chat must lower the audio input or something. I try to keep it kind of low so people don’t have to hear me breathing all the time. I’ll tick it up a notch later on and see if it makes a difference. Our conversations are usually just us goofing around though, so you’re not missing out on much.

No, that would be Blitz. All we can do in this version is manually direct them to fire at a certain target.

Against the Agir, about half of my shells shattered and dealt no damage. Against the Kurfurst, it was closer to 90% shatters. Either ship could’ve killed me with 3 shells.

Colbert is indeed a nightmare to play against. The biggest issue with her, in my opinion, is the ridiculous bow armor. There isn’t a ton of risk involved when you can just go bow on to most battleships and negate most of their damage. In the same scenario, a Worcester or Des Moines would have had pretty similar results in terms of damage. They lose out on some of the fires, but deal more raw penetration damage.

@@DPopeye it's also ridiculously agile which means even at relatively close range that thing dodges full BB salvos

I think he assumed I wouldn’t get spotted again when I went behind the smoke. I was using the minimap to steer, which led to me beaching in a pretty sticky spot. I had also assumed that I wouldn’t get spotted again, with either the smoke or the island protecting me.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. I probably should have preloaded the HE knowing what was in the cap, that may have prevented the torp strike from even happening. I don’t think the Colorado knew what was happening until it was too late, but i was also pretty unlucky not to kill it as it came around the corner. RNG giveth, and RNG taketh away.
