changed all of the pads today and the thermal paste. Used minus 8 pads and arctic mx5 paste. I saw no difference at all. I oprened the card again, re-assembled it, and again no difference....is there a time frame for the pads to start working right? pad sizes are corrent (thinckness)

Yeah this gigabyte card in particular NEEDS to be repasted every couple year or so otherwise it straight up does not function as a product. Constant throttling.

Thanks for this video. I just used it as a guide to repaste my Gigabyte 2080 8GB OC model and it worked like a charm. Didn’t even bother with the pads on the memory, just used a cheap paste off Amazon and cleaned it well and saw a huge decrease in noise and fan speed along with lower temps. Great vid.

Thanks heaps, fans were going absolutely wild like deafening even through headphones. Now is running cool and quiet, can't believe i never thought of this when i change my CPU thermal paste every year.

You should try phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer, performs works better than traditional pastes and there is no pump-out effect. For the power section (vrm) and vrams, I advise you to apply thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro. It is also a good idea to do undervolting.

Thanks man... My 2080 (non ti) went from 105°C to 77°C on the hotspot. The GPU came form +-90°C to 69°C. Isn't that nice

I a problem with my PC however see more details/ symptoms below to help you to help me: 1-the mouse & keyboard, PC fans, Sapphire Graphic Card, etc, lights are on. 2-One of the 3 fans of the Sapphire Graphic Card is not rotating. "This single fan rotates when I start PC but after about 3 turns it stops." Not sure if is normal. All other fans are working. 3-PC beeps about 4 times (one long then 3 short beeps). "This is not normal" and seems that is a warning ⚠️ . Used to beep once when starting PC. 4-I tested other two HDMI cables but problem persisted. 5-Once when I switch off then on, I noticed that the Windows 10 initiation screen starts but suddenly Screen goes to "HDMI 2, No signal". -Sapphire Graphic Card info: Sapphire Toxic Radeon R9 280X 3G Graphic Card / Video Card (Sapphire Toxic Radeon R9 280X 3G GDDRS a-lod DL-DVI-]+9L-DVI-DHDMIDUAL MNI da (UEPI)) Can you please assist? Its crazy! I got the exact Same Card and it has gone into Vacuum mode for months now. I Just renewed the thermal Paste and the temps dropped around 25 degree under heavy load. Thanks for the Video!

after some years of gaming with a jet sound, I did the repaste and it works fine thanks to this video. Bad factory pasting from msi. Repaste was very easy and hot spot and gpu temp are normal now.
