This was the proper celebration because it was in their house .Those of you who left negative comments about the celebration scared to express yourself because your worried about what white folk gonna think .SHAME ON YOU AND IM SAD FOR YOU.
Hello, I love this video, it's supposed positive. I would love to use this for my book trailer. Do you have an email where I can explain more? Thank You in advanced.
Only those with no soul, no sense of culture, and no sense of self have a problem with this...sorry the almighty made you the authority on what college graduates should and shouldnt do...did you contribute to the tuition, the costs, and long hours of those lives that were changed by this graduation?...I thought not, have several seats and go back to your master's house.I prefer to ride with those who celebrated a great accomplishment in their own way! Shoutout class of 2013
Man I wish my graduation went down like this at PVAMU! With all of the late nights of studying and hard work that's endured by college students, those kids have EVERY right to celebrate when they walk across that stage! "It's an HBCU thing. You wouldn't understand!"
People ignore the ignoramus who had the audacity to say ghetto Forget him he doesn't get it This is how we Hbcu celebrate Im 61 years old Brownite (MBC) and I get it This is how we do it!! Have fun people
I can't even get mad at em for that. I'm an Alabama State University Alum and when I graduated in 07, it was a joy that nobody could take from me so I feel them on this right here! Congrats GSU Fall Class of 2013! Now go make all the money you can and have all the fun you can before you have kids and have to go to work every dang day like i'm doing now, lol.
@ piperboy, get the stick.out of it a##, love the culture and stop disrespecting the celebration and love, u boot licker Tommy. SWAC love Southern University 1997 Grad!!!!
At first I thought this was somewhat irreverent, However, a four minute "break down" in an otherwise traditional ceremony is not the end of the world. It's clear that the commencement ended with a standard recession as the graduates returned to their seats. Anyone with racist attitudes toward Blacks or preconceptions about HBCU's would not have had anything good to say regardless of the content. So cherish your moment Fall 2013 and thank you Mrs. Brown for posting your video clip! (GSU c/o '93)
Thank you ProfessorCDG1906, I am a graduated of HBCU (Fayetteville State University, 87). Thank God for the new tradition, keep it up graduates and you are so welcome. Thank you for your comments and words of encouragement to the graduates.
Damn I wish I would have graduated from an HBCU! This is awesome and I don't see anything wrong with what they did. We need to start celebrating the wonderful accomplishments of our people;especially when they graduate from college. Special s/o to my sorors of DST! OOO-OOOOP!
It doesn't matter what frat they're repping. What matters is that these are young men, young Black men that made a choice to do better in life, and have succeeded in the 1st step. You see (hear) the speaker didn't try to stop them, he waited until they were finished to move on in the ceremony. That's because he too understood the importance of the occasion. Kinda makes me wish I went to an HBCU......
AEA!!! You did that!!! 151!! That right there is how to start a new graduation tradition that brings that same excitement to the ball games and homecoming!
Why all the hate about how they chose to celebrate their graduation day. They deserve to celebrate anyway they choose. They are now among the world's elite. Only 6 percent of the world's population have obtained a college degree. They have spent the last 4 years of their lives working their butts off to be able to do that dance. As a Gram Alum of the class of fall 87 and former GSU Band member and a Delta, I say you go! These are your future corporate executives. You have no right to judge them or their actions. It is their graduation and not yours. Congratulations class of 2013!
We should be free to express our love and joy etc for God. We are to operate in the Fullness of the Holy Spirit.
I am inspired by Pastor Jon's story, being also a church minister. Thanks.

The most successful African Americans come from HBCU's. Sorry to see so much self hate happening today.
