Introduced by good friend Wayne Lynch, Gerry and Wayne chatted about the yesteryear when surfing was in its infancy, the hundreds of waves they rode and sessions they shared. Gerry went on to reflect and comment on his book... Every word from Gerry was well thought-out, insightful and inspiring. Nothing could be said better than from the mouth of Gerry himself; If you were there, it was a life ...

I am privileged to say I have sailed on that catamaran with Wayne , slept on it and surfed off it . Memories I will always treasure.🙏🏄♂️😎
Nice soundtrack 👍😎 🌊
I rode lighting bolt boards, had respect fot gerry an rory when I lived on the north shore, I do not respect gerry at all anymore After what he did to Dick Brewer, gerrys a fraud when it comes to shaping boards , he stole everything from Dick brewer
If u are missing a 52 year old son .I wish it was me
Wayne u and your son rip.I want to surf a to surf with u and see who brings it a 3 man heat ,with respect, some day that’s my dream ur number 1 fan .good health to u and your son.skip from Santa Cruz ca
I always wanted to sail and be out on the ocean like this but I puke too much. Can sit on a board for hours but get on a boat…. jealous.
Wayne had the coolest flowing style a real surfers surfer beautiful to watch Always never lost the true meaning of surfing a true surf God...
My 1st surfboard was a 5’4 Wayne Lynch at 10 years old in 73. Thanks Wayne
Liked his surfing a lot!! Btw, rainbow at 2:56 <3
Legend!
Is he Hispanic Jerry Lopez😉?
Absolute legend. Coward? No way. To surf where Wayne surfed alone. You go do it. MC and WL are absolute madmen. I've sat at Whites, pumping no one out, I just couldn't go. These blokes would have loved it. Incredible talents. Both generous.
Timeless: Aloha, Duke, Jerry, AND "you should have been here yesterday" (starting at 05:50)
Love the clip.Always been in awe of Wayne Lynch. Not just for his surfing. You might like to try some music from this Sydney surfy band next time .ua-cam.com/video/krdcjoKEZhc/v-deo.html

Gerrys a fraud, he stole all he knows from Dock Brewer
tom carrol did things at pipe jerry never did. good on u Tom
Wow boring
loved that first back hand reo ahead of his time, is that hi parked at main beach iluka
Gerry Lopez talks philosophy nice
Nice guy... I follow his attitude
Wayne Lynch is a coward, the real surfing hero's were sacrificing their time with families and setting aside their recreational pastimes to stand up for what they believed in, a free and democratic society, Wayne Lynch should move to North Korea where he belongs, tho neither side won the war the fact that the communists didn't win is a victory, as was the Korean war, which was also a defensive action against communism where we fought against Chinese ground forces and Russian fighter jets piloted by Russian's, while Wayne Lynch enjoyed himself in the surf that the real Australian's were fighting for to protect us from communism
I don't think too many people will ever subscribe to your ignorant view Fred.
Troll or a fuckwit. He stood up to a government who sent boys to the slaughter. Look at those poor bastards who fought in Vietnam. Legacies such as deformed children and PTSD for absolutely no benefit. Got it wrong mate and look out for the reds under your bed.. he travelled up to the Sunny Coast this year to support a children’s charity, a good man.
It takes far more courage to refuse to follow ignorance into an unjust war .To not follow is to lead.
@@happysufferer Really? It was compulsory and Wayne dodged conscription. Ever wonder who took his place?
You are failure at history mate, the Korean war started before Wayne Lynch was born. I'm pretty sure the communists won the Vietnamese war or as the prefer to call it "The American War" and are still in power today. It was a human disgrace and started on the back of a lie about the Vietnamese firing on American warships. You are spouting crap, if you are going to voice an opinion do some research and make sure it's based on fact not something that some know nothing has regurgitated and you have swallowed whole.
Ele vai continuar surfando até 80 anos ou mais ...as ondas gostam dele.
Lopez é único !!!! Esse cara carregou e ainda carrega durante sua passagem entre nós o verdadeiro espirito do surf .
legend to me, wayne lynch is..
so rad! i love surfing
I can't surf for shit, but walked into Gash surfboards years ago when Brown started up.Walked in and asked for a winki board for 4 to 5 ft conditions. MrLynche looked at me,I told him my weight and that I was from Yorkshire and an average to shit surfer who just wants to surf Winkl.,,,,,thanks Wayne
Hey One Lunch, still got the moves for an old fart -;)) just jokin hope all is good in your life.
Wayne Lynch, if you are reading this, I played on the sound-track for a Bob Evans surf film named "Family Free" in which you were a prominent surfer. The film was released in 1971-72 and had a premier showing at the Sydney University. Can you assist me in finding a copy of the film and/or the sound-track? I am particularly seeking to get a copy of the sound-track for my own personal memorabilia. Hope you can help. Michael Norris - Narrabeen
Hi. Have you tried the Surf Film Archive?
Who's that girl at 0:44?
A super good looking babe
Her name is Rell Sunn (from caption of same pic in Gerry’s book)
Cool! I guessed Rell before seeing your post.
So good to hear Wayne Lynch is still surfing he inspired many
Respect!
I like that when someone has a voice, then uses it! Right on Gerry!
the epitome of cool - Gerry Lopez riding Pipeline.
