What an in depth review
Bought my Pair from Farlows 3 years ago , Great Waders by far thou heard yesterday 4/5/2024 from Farlow Returns that Patagonia don't repair waders ,??? What ?? - after advising me in the first place to send them back via their returns for repair by Patagonia. Having spent North of £700 quid, and waiting 3 weeks only to be told that Patagonia dont have a UK repair sorry is this my problem , I do hope someone from Patagonia can help me here as i feel totally let down by these two UK retailers with their communications, despite having spent on a pair of temp waders to keep me going while i wait.
I thought low rise hip huggers went out of style
Do the revolver rogue have any stretch in the waistband ? Thanks
My left foot swells quite a bit and hurts at the ball of the foot and lately has been hurting in the arch just tbe left foot. I usually have to get a double e what shoe do you recommend to day hikes. Where are you located
Thank you for explaining about the seams. Excellent info.
I'm sorry the sound was so bad i paused after 5 seconds to write this message, and then ill find one with better sound.
great presentation. proves WHY an actual store should exist. fitting, experience! well done!
Great video, just like the Ski jacket one. Very informative, great build up of the type of products you can buy and would suggest in every situation,
Give away to me 😅
Just a tip for some viewers who may not have a lot of money. I use a waterproof windbreaker under my jacket. I tuck the windbreaker under my pants and it keeps that heat in and snow out pretty well. Any jacket with a powder skirt seems to add $200 automatically. $13 windbreaker helped me out with that. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH!
Very good video, thank you! Theres lots of clickbait videos on this topic, this video is totally different. Very informative without getting into the weeds or talking in circles. This video is significantly better than the dozen videos the algorithym showed me when I searched this topic. Simple, straightfoward, honest, why can't the internet be like this everywhere, why is there so much bad information showing up anytime i search anything nowadays? Search engines used to add value to the user, nowadays they steal the users time and money. Thanks again for successfully explaining what some many others are confusing on purpose, much appreciated.
Is it waterproof?
Skied in under 5 fahrenheit last season and addded an additional layer. Immediately regretted a fourth layer as it turned out to be a beautiful sunny cloudless day and a fourth layer was just way too hot.
I really want to translate this video and upload it in my country. this is the best ski wearing video I have ever seen
Growing up a war chief jacket that wasn't waterproof and just absorb the rain. I would wear a wool sweater under it so even when it got wet I would be warm. I never went in the lodge I was always out skiing. I find it funny to watch people pushing you need the expensive jacket to could scare when I can out ski almost anybody.
Should have had more closeups!
Thank you for a very informative explanation of ski jackets!
Wish you'd have had the vestibule and fly attached. Plus unlock it for the video.
While Grayl has a solid rep and your confidence is noted, a before/after analys of that water would be awesome.
Hi, Andrew.
I hit all the checkmarks for a SSS except for the boot size, do you think if i'm a size 9 i could make this work or should i size up?
hi there. just wondering if the north face ski gear is worth it?
hey men! Well explained and extremely helpful review! Much appreciate it!
I have been a Simms customer since they started making waders and have had excellent wear out of them . I’m not a high use guide days fisherman but do get out 100+ days a year. Just purchased these waders and can’t wait to try them . The reason I switched was I like what Patagonia is doing to help the environment and what’s happening at the company. The fit at least for me was perfect and the adjustability is great . Now to see how they hold up . Thanks for sharing
Interested to hear your thoughts so far!
@@jrmydn I’ve put over 30 days on them this season and they have worked as advertised. Haven’t found anything I don’t like about them . I’d never had a pair of waders with the front zipper and really didn’t think it would be that big a deal , it’s a game changer. Not only from the stand point of being able to go pee when it’s raining and not have to take clothes off but from just the ease of putting them on and taking them off . My one concern was breathability I had read some forums that thought they didn’t breath as well as the Simms , I have not found that to be true . If your in the market of purchasing a new pair of waders I would definitely recommend you at least go try some on . In my mind the true test will be how are they doing at the end of the season . Go fish 🎣
Update how did they do?
@@cooshington5975 They work great put 114 days on them no issues and I’m not easy on equipment. I really like the zipper front and waterproof interior pocket . Going to get my wife a pair this year .
I legit layer 2 under shirts, a sweat shirt hoodie then a windbreaker 🤣
Lol did anyone notice what he's doing with his hand 😆 1:28
I didn't notice anything. 😊
Does ski jackets are unisex ?
Any issues with durability? I’m about 6’0 230 lbs, and I just wanna make sure I’d be buying something that I’m not gonna bust the seams by overstretching on accident (stepping over fallen trees, coming up a bank, etc)
Fantastic Guide. Thank you very much.
Glad I didn’t break the bank the first time I went snowboarding, sweat too much, and decided going with a shell was the best choice. Don’t be afraid to buy 2nd hand, rent, or borrow.
I use ski and snowmobile gear for winter motorcycle riding. It's cheaper than marked up motorcycle gear made for us motorcyclists.
I believe no jackets should be priced more than 200 bucks, everyone sgould be able to afgord them. Let's stop this bs marketing crap.
I fall because I suck
Most underrated video for snowboarding/skiing, awesome vid
You not only nailed it, but great news I’m already an Osprey customer as of 5 years ago. I am about to purchase additional outdoor gear and your warranty makes my decision final. Thank you for being an amazing company, I’ve had other brands over the years and they not only cannot compete they choose not too. Thanks Osprey.
Excellent video, I haven't found any others that were even close in terms of explaining the things I've been trying to understand, in my search for a ski jacket.
Using merino base layers currently for skiing, best stuff ever. Doesnt smell, breathable and warm. And feels good. Could you do a similar video for mid layers for buyers who opt for a 3 layer outfit?
Wow I randomly came across these product videos of yours... I've watched so many videos on these same topics and none have come close to being as good as the past couple I've seen by you guys. This channel deserves more views/subs. Thanks for the content!
Learn to dress properly!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great review, i am impressed. Very good waders !
Not a neoprene bootie moron
Why not just remove the zip tie for the video and get in the tent? I want to see the inside from the inside.
All these videos cover everything about the 38, and never show the 28. Wtf?
The North Face is a bit of a strange company. They started out as the others and we know that story. So, they did some good products,, and then came Mr. Greed - aka the board, aka the investors, and down the drain goes a good company. For a number of years, TNF have been making some good items and some bad ones. Look at the VE23/24/25 tent, as it iterated towards today, it slowly became better, until the third newest version (the last completely yellow version with better poles, better stakes, better inner and outer tent material as well as the better guy lines (triple) and lot's of hooks and pockets inside. Then it spiraled downwards. Bad outer fly, thinner inner tent, worse floor, bad poles (dac, but only some of them), welded reinforcement points. It rips apart, breaks poles... So, take a look at some of their clothing. I got a TNF Goretex hardshell from TNF. Okay, it's waterrepellant for a long time, but it actually says I cannot wear a backpack while using this jacket... Argh... Then I got a TNF Futurelight, and while breathable, and certainly not windproof, rain simply just runs straight through. I got wet in 7 minutes. I reproofed it several times and now it can withstand rain for 15 minutes. That's it. Bad bad material. Steer clear. I have one of their dufflebags and it's bombproof (well, I actually don't know about exactly that, but it can withstand any use I put it to. What I really don't like about TNF now, is the way they have steered the company to be a shopping mall company for non-outdoor people. Look at their models - tall, skinny to the unhealthy extreme, wearing all sort of weird stuff in a mall or a parking lot or whatever. I look into Mountain Equipment now. A good brand so far. Same strange things can be said about many of the outdoor companies. Look at Fjällräven. their jackets are simply not waterproof. It's fine for an hour or so, but then you get wet. And it's not condensation. I have the Bergtagen Eco-shell. All for eco and what not, but it dimply doesn't work. I remember that Fjällräven says well, it's okay to get wet. Well, I say it's nice for a short while, but when you are far and away on a mountain and it's pouring down for ages, then your jacket has to work. So no, Fjällräven jackets does not work. But their Bergtagen and Kajka backpacks are extremely well designed and works just as well. TNF seems to be a hit or miss. I am sorry to say that, but Futurelight is a miss. So to me at least, the whole outdoor production world is spinning all sorts of nice stories with little real life backup. It's about making money. Kind regards.
Great video
Thanks for checking it out Jon!
