The Fixx "Every Five Seconds" Album Review
1) Shuttered Room 2) Phantoms 3) Ink 4) Calm Animals 5) Reach the Beach 6) Walk About 7) Elemental/Happy Landings 8) React 9) Want that Life 10) Beautiful Fiction 11) Five Seconds 12) Woodlands
Very interesting seeing Shuttered Room at the top! Cool list and I love seeing someone else like Phantoms over Reach The Beach
@@jacksonjones563 shuttered Room is such a solid cd. Every song is great. Reach the Beach has a lot of filler to me.
@@trebillis7399 Very interesting opinion! Shuttered Room definitely is underrated and has even been underrated by me in the past.
Woodlands is an attempt to modernize their older hits. I think it is a waste of time. Listen to the originals way better.
I heavily disagree as I think it is a fun listen that features cool acoustic takes of some of their best tracks
@ where I disagree with you is that the differences are not big enough. But none of them are full acoustic. I love acoustic takes but these version are too close to the originals. Many bands from the 80’s decided to re-record their hits. They did this for two reasons: they get a higher percentage of royalties on these new versions.and they know their diehards will buy anything. Go full acoustic or don’t bother. The Fixx does have some greatest hits and live albums out there that are better. I found this one a waste of my money. In every case original recording is better.
@@trebillis7399 It definitely is a money grab a lot of times for bands, but in this case I personally don't feel my money was wasted
At the time of 1011 Woodland they had a 3 disc contract with a record label (CMC I think). The band was unhappy with how the label handled Elemental and they didn't want to release the newest material on that label they were obligated to. Re-imagining several of their favorites of old was a fun way to fulfill the contract and save the Want That Life material for a different record contract.
@@riverseineproductions1220 I'm definitely with you on that man, I'm a total fan of 1011 Woodland!
Pretty safe to say the further you go back in the Fixx's catalog the better they were. Their recent albums lack catchy melodic tunes. They are slower and honestly more depressing. They might shift around a little, but start with the first and then second. Honestly, I do not even like their most recent cds at all. I totally disagree with this ranking.
@@trebillis7399 I respect your opinion on this, and I actually agree with them being better early on. The 80s was definitely their prime

@@ericthetaylor Thanks for showing me these guys!! This is some awesome ambiant stuff right here!
A sorely underappreciated band that, as you said, never really made a bad album, and their best stuff is truly stellar. A band that has tons of killer tracks. I lost track a long time ago, but I've easily seen them over 30 times.
@glennpagemusic Man, I'm so jealous of that!! Next time, they're around my neck of the woods I've gotta see them!
@jacksonjones563 They're awesome live!!! If you've never seen them, you really need to. I think they have a short US tour coming up, actually.
@@glennpagemusic Sounds like I'll be making some plans to go see them!
Man I'm so glad to see you did a Fixx album ranking. I love The Fixx. They were a band I got really into in high school which was way past their prime since I was like 3 when Reach The Beach came out. I only own 4 Fixx albums on CD with one of them being a greatest hits album. I plan on getting more of their CDs. In fact I get paid tomorrow so I'm planning on buying Walkabout since it's on my watch list on Ebay. I enjoyed the video. I actually haven't heard any of their albums since Want That Life.
@@ACrackInTheWall2006 So cool to hear another fan of this band!! Most people know their massive hits, but its very rare to find a true fan of their body of work! I think you'll be impressed with the albums that follow "Want That Life"
I'm just full of mistakes tonight lol! The Overall Rating for this show is 4 Stars
I forgot to put the star rating for Braun Strowman Vs. Jacob Fatu, but I'd give it **
Excellent video 🎉 It has always been my least favourite classic MegadetH album 💿 , however in absolute terms it is a great 💿 disc Happy “new” year 2025 my friend !
@patrickrnorthforest2184 Happy New Year Patrick!! Always good to hear from you! I definitely see where you're coming from with it being your least favorite of their classic albums as it does have a different style in some of the tracks as well as the production. Always cool to a hear a different opinion!
Molly lips is so underrated
It really is! Very fun song!!
Альбом просто БОМБА !!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love this album. Follow the tears is top 3 for me though. I listen to these songs on my way to pickleball league. Gets me pumped to play.
@MrHeybert Hell yeah man that'd awesome! Any iteration of Sabbath is guaranteed to get you pumped up!!
Good video!
@enriquejamz Thanks brother I appreciate it!
Love to see Scream a little higher!
@cellyzs Yeah, man, that album is supremely underrated and often gets written off as just failed late 2010s Ozzy record. I think it's got great songs all over it tbough!
@jacksonjones563 women can be Ozzy fans too 😭 But forreal it's always been my fav Wish Ozzy could've done a couple more albums with Gus G instead of the two he ended up releasing 😬 But after 2010 he started working on 13 with Sabbath and it was a great album
@cellyzs They sure can haha!! It was actually just Scream that Gus G was on which is a damn shame because he brought a unique sound to the band for sure
@@jacksonjones563 yes that what I said. I wish he would've done a couple more INSTEAD of the ones he did
@cellyzs Oh I gotcha lol
That Album You Have In Your Hand Is freaking Awesome!😎🤟
@DanielDeLeon69 Absolutely my friend!! Such a brutal record and one I cherish very much in my collection!
one of the weakest releases ever
@@DEFKONSIXTYSIXlml I'd have to disagree with you. What makes you not like it man?
I just bought this album yesterday on Amazon and I got to say it was freaking awesome
@DanielDeLeon69 Glad you bought this man! This is a must have for Metal fans, so this was a solid purchase!!
is it true this album bombed and they broke up? srsq
@channel_panel193 I'm not sure if this lead to their breakup or not, but this one definitely didn't do good in the reviews. People weren't really receptive to their more melodic approach they took on this one, but I love it as it makes this album stand out in their discography!
@@jacksonjones563 thanks for the response, appreciate you!
Hey Jackson, how are you doing ? It is a brutal debut album 💿 (I prefer the cover picture of the remastered version), and it chills my bones when he plays piano 🎹, which is ok for Halloween though 🤣 I heard that Dave Mustaine used most of his budget for the album for alcohol 🍺 and drugs, which could explain the original raw production sound, is that true ? Take care, you rock and you rule 🎸 🎊 Patrick
@patrickrnorthforest2184 Hey Patrick, so great to hear from you friend!! The remastered cover is definitely a big step ahead of this original one haha!! It honestly wouldn't surprise me if that is what Dave ended up spending his money on as he was quite the mess at this time. Either way the raw production works in this album's favor for me! Thanks so watching and commenting buddy!
My all-time favorite album. One Thing Leads to Another is my least favorite song on there.
@@sparky6592 It is one of the worst for me as well as I've heard it too many times! This album truly is a piece of art though!!
Just listened to the album and it is MUCH heavier and better than I remember it being.
@justin271995 Right?! There are some sick heavy riffs all over here!!
Hey I was actually at aew Dynamite Grand Slam last week live
Hell yeah man!! I'm hoping I get to catch Danielson wrestle again before his retirement!
I was actually at NXT takeover Dallas Texas and it was awesome
@DanielDeLeon69 Dude that's awesome what a historical NXT show to be at!!
Bangin’ review!!
@Bryan-ce6bo Thanks brother! What's your favorite Tool album?
Those are cool! 🤘🏻
@Riky_Jones Thanks brother!! I've gotten quite a bit more since this video, and will probably do an update again sometime after Christmas!
I think one and two were the best make ups out of all of them
@robertphillips5459 Those are both very iconic looks! The part 2 look in particular has only grown on me over time. I'll be dropping a ranking of all the Leatherface looks here really soon so stay tuned!
@@jacksonjones563 will do

I believe that album, which follows Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is perfect. It's as if they found their pocket even more on this one.
@33ordie They definitely got a lot more Progressive and experimental on this album which is absolutely in the album's favor. The song variety on this one is fantastic!!
A solid albumn. It showed rock didn't have time rely on loud guitars and screaming vocals. Cys great tenor. Rupert is arguably the most talented. Many of the songs are darker/melancholic, so they are an acquired taste. Definitely some genius minimalistic stuff.
@ericnastav It really is some genius art right here man! I love how dark yet hopeful a lot of their material can be!
Born Again is my favorite Black Sabbath album. Have always thought of the album as basically Ian Gillan on vocals with the rest of the original Black Sabbath lineup.🤘
@SuperStrik9 Love hearing that brother and really dig the profile pick!! This album has a certain grit and dirty feel to it that really none of the other Black Sabbath albums have. Definitely one of my all time favorites as well!
Excellent video thanks for ranking the entire franchise
@@ryanchandler3451 Absolutely brother!! Thanks for watching!! What's your favorite Hellraiser flick?
I love Hellraiser bloodline the best but love them all
@@ryanchandler3451 Bloodline is actually my girlfriend's favorite!! That one has just about been my favorite before!
You know it's really hard for me to pick absolute favorites but I'll just say my top picks in no particular order are Uniform of Youth, Into my own hands, Tangent Tears, Dont Slow Down, Black/White, Welcome to the Real World, and then followed up by the three hits ott rhe album that everyone has heard a million times.
@LichaelMewis Man Tangent Tears is such a catchy track!! A top tier track out of their entire discography for sure!!
Dude totally agree. I thought they only had 3 good songs as I never listed to their discography. Holly cow was I blown away. They are my new favorite band now. I like literally every song on all three original albums. Pull I don't care for quite as much because it's missing their guitar wizard Steve Farris. In any case I am happy someone is out there trying to inform others of this amazing music. I love finding gems like this.
It's a real shame that they broke up after Go On, which was their best album imo. And it's a real shame they didn't get the credit they deserved especially from Go On. I feel like they should have tried one more album before calling it quits. Finally, all original band members are still alive and I would love to see a reunion tour.
@LichaelMewis Love that you became a fan dude!! They are truly a hidden gem of a band that I wish got more attention. All we can do is cross our fingers that they get back together at some point, but I honestly doubt they will
@@jacksonjones563 agreed but we can hope. BTW, I think I'll Let You drive is really good.
Yeah that one isnt one of my favs, but is still solid which is a testament to how good this album is! @LichaelMewis
I Watched AEW Full Gear 2021 Live And It Was Awesome!
That's sick man!! It was a hell of a show! Punk Vs. Kingston felt like a straight up shoot!
When will you review “Toxicity” and “The Sickness”?
@angelicx1610 I have many bands planned ahead of them man, but I'm sure at some point I'll review their discographies

cool review man! Regurgitation of Giblets has gotta be my fav track on this one. That's totally sick how you got a first pressing with the og art, I'm trying to find one with the uncensored cover but they all seem expensive AF.
@okthisisepic6273 Thanks man! That's definitely a top Carcass track! This album was no doubt an expensive one man. Really all of the ones I have on original vinyl were expensive, but I think they were totally worth it! I think I paid anywhere from $100 - $140 for each of them.
Love this album, came out right around HS graduation. It was a big part of the coming years. There was a bonus track called Peace on Earth (do what you can) worth a listen.
@reversefulfillment9189 Very cool to hear! Youre very lucky to have grown up in a time when music like this was coming out and thriving! I've not heard that bonus track, but I'll definitely find it and jam to it!
I thought this year's money in the bank was good I know a lot of people are complaining about the Seth Rollins versus Damian match Drew McIntyre one the briefcase and almost cashed in on Damien but got screwed again by CM Punk
I've been seeing a lot of people complain about that too, but I honestly thought it was some pretty good storytelling and will beneficial to all of their storylines going forward
All I got to say is that Ethan page one the NXT Championship and everybody was shocked
That absolutely shocked me!! I loved how the finish was like Backlash 2007's Fatal 4 Way match!
Album cover is a throw back to reach the beach, even has the handcuff. Good to see you bro.
Oh wow I never noticed that!! That's super cool! Good to hear from you again man!
@jacksonjones563 Thanks for prompting me to revisit this great album. Did you ever check out XTC? Check out their tune Love at first sight off Black Sea album. Reminds me of Around the bend riff at double speed.
@@reversefulfillment9189 I actually haven't yet, but I'm going to listen to that track tonight as well as their first album and go on from there!
I totally see you dressing up as Jason this Halloween and just carrying a wild colored guitar around. Cool stuff dude.

@@jacksonjones563 No problem. Can’t wait for the reviews because you’ve never reviewed any nu metal
I spent the afternoon listening to this album, drinking wine, and cleaning my house. I had heard it growing up, but sort of passed it over. I think it might rival Reach the Beach.
@spencerholcomb1660 That sounds like an awesome time right there! It's one of those albums that I grow to love more every time I listen to it!
2 years late and only a few minutes in, but I can tell you there are no better Steve Vai reviews on youtube!
Man that really means a ton!! Thanks so much man, I'm always excited to meet another Steve Vai fan, and glad am glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve been listening to Steve’s whole discog since middle school (10 yrs ago) and I basically have all of it drilled in my head lol. Funny enough, the vocals in Oooo are actually Steve pitched up! 😂 He’s done that ever since he first started recording on tape; I believe he actually saw Zappa in the process of manipulating the tape speed in his studio, and started incorporating it in his own music. Little Green Men is the best representation of that, no doubt!
@onehitbarrel722 Wow very cool info man! That really makes sense especially since "Flex-Able" is so heavily Zappa inspired
Quintessence of the New Wave. Sounds great after 40 years! Actual lyrics
Yeah a lot of the 80s Synth Pop albums' production still holds up to this day!
I Really Enjoyed Clash At The Castle 🏰 2024 Especially With CM Punk Costing Drew Mclyntire The World Heavyweight Championship Match Against Damien Priest
