Olight Perun 3 vs Array Pro 2 - Practical comparison
My website is now live! Check it out and leave a comment on your thoughts!
www.aussiegunsauce.com/
In this video, I compare the two Olight headlamp options: the Olight Perun 3 and the Olight Array Pro 2. The Perun 3 is a versatile handheld torch that can also be worn as a headlamp, or clipped onto your shirt or jacket. On the other hand, the Array Pro 2 is a dedicated headlamp designed purely for hands-free use, and it's my personal go-to option for hunting and outdoor activities.
Join me as I break down the features, pros, and cons of both models and explain why the Array Pro 2 is my preferred choice. Whether you’re after versatility or a reliable headlamp for your adventures, this comparison will help you make the right choice!
The Perun 3 will be 30% off from 8pm tonight!

    Have you ever tried to swap the battery covers between the real and the fake ones? I had to get spare battery covers for my real ones, but HL doesn't sell replacements so I had to order covers from China. They seem to close securely enough but there's a 1.5-2mm gap at the top and bottom. I wouldn't be surprised if there's slight dimensional differences between real vs fake.

      The red light is meant to be invisible to foxes. Red light also doesn't impact your night vision, in that it doesn't make your pupils open and means you can continue to see in the dark without your eyes having to readjust, in the way they would if you used a bright white light.

      @aussiegunsauce 6 місяців тому

      Hey mate, thanks for the comment! I do often use a red filter for foxes but find that they are already startled by the car driving around so there's no longer a need to be stealthy in that scenario. When I am just standing with the tripod, I do use red light and the thermal to try and be as invisible to them as possible. I'll definitely include more use of the red filters in my next video ;) With whistles, I should share that I have SO MANY!!! I will discuss these in a future video too. I have digital callers, whistles, squeekers, the T20, and a few I've forgotten about.. I find that different areas will yield different results. It depends entirely on the foxes in the area, their prey, and how often they've been shot at. Thanks for the great video ideas, and I hope this answers your question?

      Hey mate! Happy new year! I actually have an update on the hatchet that I am about to post a video on. Some tips and some wear I've caused to the hammer end 😂 which I'm actually pretty happy about. The Warrior does come in a kit via the link in the description (www.olightstore.com.au/s/364Y4T) but it's not on sale at the moment so I wouldn't recommend it just yet. I think there will be a sale in the coming weeks and this link will get you that discount. I also recommend getting the magnetic holder for the warrior series over the figure 8 clamp. I found that to be a nicer feel and less intrusive when hunting. Finally, after using this setup for a few trips now, I have to say I'm seriously impressed! Even though the red filter doesn't feel very bright, it DOES make the eyes of the animals shine bright! Even at 100+m! I hope this information helps? If you do want to buy one now and don't want to wait for the sale, you can use my code: AGS10 to get 10% off but I would highly recommend waiting for the sale to start. Hugs and puppies, my friend

    • @aussiegunsauce
      @aussiegunsauce 9 місяців тому

      Yeah, so rabbits have one eye on each side of their head - That's why we only see one eye.. Foxes have both eyes at the front of their face, so you'll often see two eyes when they look at you. It's great with movement, very responsive, BUT! I tested it last weekend and when the rabbit is about 100m away, running through grass, we simply couldn't see it.. As if the eye glow wasn't bright enough. I will try to do a more full-length video demonstrating this. It does have a screw point on the base so you can mount it to a camera tripod and let it sit there..

    After years of carrying Arkfelds, I have my complaints.. the clip is too long (to clip onto a ball cap), it’s upside down in pocket (I like lens down), clip is on the wrong side for a ball cap/shirt pocket (it should clip on TOP of hat and point down/it should clip from INSIDE of shirt pocket and face out).. The button was better in the middle of body.. As silly as it is, I’m constantly pulling it from my pocket and fumbling to find the button/point the lens the right way because I’m so used to lens down carry… If I had known these things earlier I would have never bought it. I’m not a huge fan of the baton series because of lens up carry and again tend to fumble for the button on those also (I prefer warrior mini/nano for their tail switch), but in your scenario I prefer it when compared to the Arkflex. I do worry about getting the charger inside the case dirty though so I typically leave it inside the case whenever possible. All that said, I do like the Arkflex. I just feel like they didn’t think it far enough through or were trying to make it “stand out” more compared to the Arkfelds.. or maybe I’m just not the typical user for this kind of light 🤷🏻‍♂️🥲

    I have the Arkfeld Pro which is really nice and I just ordered the Perun 2 mini for something i can clip to backpack or shirt or hat. It similiar to baton 4 in size but has red light and angle of light different. So i was interested when you said the baton still feels thick despite being small - i was thinking about this for the perun 2 mini also. We will see, hopefully its ok. The thin & long profile distributes weight in your hand better.

      Thanks for this. Yeah I'm not sure how to describe the feeling. What I've started to do is to clip the baton to my pocket so it doesn't sit "in" my pocket, but rather "on" the inside of my pocket. I'm finding that is way better!

    What would you reccomend for someone who just likes to take a long walk in the forest at night? Seeker 4 pro, or something else? I now have Sofirn sc33, but the battery is meh on high setting (like an hour at most) Also Neutral light or Cool?

    • @aussiegunsauce
      @aussiegunsauce 11 місяців тому

      For walking, I'd say the seeker because of how broad the beam is. But I'm about to do a new fox hunting video and I'll be trying the Marauder Mini which might be way better on battery, due to size (and since it's so bright, not having it on full blast). But that is much more expensive than the Seeker. The biggest difference between these olights and what you find on Temu and AliExpress, is quality. These things are built solid and have large batteries..

      Hey Mate! I actually just bought a pair of Walker Razor to test and there's a HUGE difference in sound quality. That's not even comparing the fake Howard Leight ones which sounded atrocious! The real Impact sport have directional hearing, so you can hear where the sound is coming from.. the Razor ones don't. It just sounds like "sound"! In both ears, regardless of where from!

      @@boarshooter90 For hunting: Absolutely, no competition.. For shooting at a range or anything else, not so much.. They should* protect your ears just as well. I did this test after using it for about 30 mins to butcher a deer in pitch black darkness so I hope that's the next video I'll be sharing (not the butchering but my experience with the Array Pro 2).
