It's not a silly question at all! That annoys me a bit too. There are some workarounds that are a bit clunkier. The first option is to get a specialist cable to attach your ipad to your mac; this normally also requires a splitter so you can charger your ipad while having it connected. It's a jankier version of the windows method. If you want to be able to screenshare your ipad in a videocall, then I believe Zoom has an option, when you press the share screen button, that allows you to select your ipad as an airplay device. This method only works in Zoom though. Then if all else fails - third party softwares exist for pretty much anything. The problem with those being that you likely will need to pay a license (might be perpetual or a subscription) and there's no guarantee the developers will keep it updated as OS updates are released. You do have to render before sharing; it will allow you to share without rendering, but it slows down the process a lot since it'll combine the processes. Rendering is used for fluid playback. :)

I'm a full stack digital marketer who started making videos on youtube 14 years ago and developed that into a diverse career. This isn't the only channel I've ever posted on. I've used my experience to create and execute marketing strategies for much greater audiences, for clients and employers, that obviously won't reflect on this channel. I've only recently committed myself to uploading consistently with my own brand and, as any content creator will know, persistence over time is the most important thing. The majority of my videos are unlisted clips used for private purposes, so of course they wouldn't convert to subscribers. You're welcome to believe what you like despite the 0 uploads on your channel. A large part of me thinks you're some kind of bot, but I'm posting this comment for the benefit of anyone who may read it in the future. I have confidence in my expertise and I'm simply here to share what I know and help others - mainly the small creatives and business owners who may not be able to afford my more premium services, but want advice on a DIY option for their own marketing activities. :)

I believe for Firefox, you need to uncheck Recommended Performance Settings in the Performance tab. But I've never done it myself :)
