You might follow this flow: Get off the plane ---> go through customs inspection --->go through the border entry inspection ---> take the elevator to the first floor for baggage pickup ---> go through customs inspection ---> turn right prior to arrival ---> go through transfer formalities and re-check in baggage at the international-domestic transfer counter on the first floor ---> take the elevator on the first floor to the second floor ---> go through the security check at the front of the cross-shaped corridor ---> (domestic departures and arrivals area) go to the departure boarding gate ---> board the plane.

1 hour is short maybe, but you should go to transit counter so u do not have to do the check in and security check again. They will collect ur luggage too if it is not checked to last destination already. This is based on my personal experience.

The minimum transit time for China Southern Airlines is 2 hours or smth

If you are connecting on a international flight on the same airline, booked on the same ticket and no need to leave airport, you don’t need a visa

No, thak you for your detailed reply! I read that when doing int-int transfer on short layovers passengers didn't have to go through customs/inmigration but transit security control, as you're not really "entering China". Also read there's no need for visas or any type of special document for these short layovers without leaving the transit area. Thanks again!
