Welcome to the JunkYard D Channel!
I been tinkering on Junk since I was young. I prefer the not so main stream stuff but If you take pride in your ride and build it with your own grit, we'll get along fine.
I don’t own a Junkyard. Junkyard is the mindset! Seeing the finished product long before the project even begins. Not seeking out a build but letting it find you.
Biting off more than you can chew...yes please may I have another?
Knowing your skill level is key but then pushing 1 or 2 notches just above that to keep improving on your skillset. Pulling your hair out, bleeding knuckles, a bit of insanity...that’s the fun of it and that my friends, that’s the way I roll.
Vehicles: 1966 Plymouth Valiant - "Carrie" Street & strip car. Its a four door = twice the fun!
1968 Plymouth Valiant - "The Wicked Widow" Drag car. On the rotisserie and needs Everything!
1978 Plymouth Volare - Super Coupe
2000 Roadglide - "Betty Sue" She likes her curves!
2021 CT100U Monkey bike -"Jack"

I have a dodge dart sport 360. I have noticed Vapor lock or pinging when car is stuck in traffic. Is a return line a good solution to this? By the way your engine bay looks clean!

My budget would depend on what happens with the paint. I love the patina look awesome. I also like nice paint. But cost of painting is expensive. But rust o lum paint done right looks awesome as well. And certainly something i would do. As long as the drive train is 100%. Just enjoy the ride
Tanks for the education! Split it down the middle... paint the passenger side, leave patina on the drivers.
I used to see those Lancers and Valients like that all the time in the 1960’s but not so much in the last 30-35 years or so.
Either white or black, both would work with the red inside but the body would need to be super straight for black though
@@rogercamp6071 black always looks great but every flaw will show. 👍
I hope
@@jamesdewiel4736 to paint it? What color?
@@junkyard_D mint green
Painting a car black that doesn't have air conditioning is not a very good idea.
@@mexicanspec it has the 270 air option…. 2 windows down, 70mph. 😊
@@junkyard_D Yes but when it sits in the sun, you become the cooking beef.
Man, stop being lazy, that car is too beautiful for you to destroy, not the patina, black on black and all its chrome
@@vicsalav That would look great on the car! 👍
Personally I'm not a fan of patina look, so I say paint it any color you like.
@@bullfidde got it. How bout hot pink? 😀
@@junkyard_D well if that's what's floats your boat, I say go ahead 😁😁
The 'forward look' cars are crazy cool in my book. Personally I like to see all the money go to the engine, drivetrain and interior... I like a shiny paint job just like everyone, but I'm the first one to accidentally bump a door or knock something over in the garage. I've seen where people put a thin coat of paint matching the original color and then 'burn through' by sanding the new paint to get the right amount of patina. That's a lot of work but it does look nice.
@@snake_eyes_garage functionality first. I think that’s where the patina craze started. Make them run and get them on the road first. Shiny stuff comes second.
Why would you do this tho?
When did it become so important what others think..I BUILD FOR MYSELF AND TO HELL WHAT PEOPLE MIGHT THINK
@@joselinares-eu7mc agreed. Build the car that fits you. In this case it is a community build by multiple people so I like hearing everyone’s opinion
Agree with most of the comments. Paint it white w/ red interior. Patina does not stop rust.
@@Joe-j2p3o you are correct. Even paint does not stop rust if it’s not prepared and treated properly. 😊👍
I think that 21yr old southern girl is made fun of enough.😢
That's Girly Man Hail. Wait until it gets Baseball sized before you worry about dinging that Tank. They don't build them like they used to. BTW I am getting you guys confused with "The Empire of Rust" guys.
Stone soup parked a little too close to Carrie(sp?)…😂 Glad you were able to enter it in a car show! How cool is that?! It’s neat that it won some awards as well! I’m glad you were able to spend time with 38POS. See you guys soon at the NNN’s! 😎👍
@@heavensmopars thanks Scott. It was a good time at the show and hanging with 38POS. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Sept.
Ain't no way you made this... 🤣🤣🤣💀
@@MoparsMustangsAndMinivans 😊😳😂
You just need a couple of washing machine bodies to fix the floor boards. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@moseshancock3336 that would work too. We used some old road signs. 😊
About time someone took the effort to cleaned out the poor thing !
@@hemibreath it was a Valiant effort! 😊
Green
@@jeffgibson184 only a couple people said green but that would pop with the red. It is a “road toad” after all!
Paint it||||||||| A light none metallic would really show those nice flowing lines

Do you what size the headlights are? I have a full set in my barn that might fit that I’d like to donate if possible
I’m not sure the size. I handed it off to 38POSRacing. He had some and replaced them. Thank you for the offer tough 😊👍
I like the patina it shows its character you take away the patina you take away it's character but if you do paint it I'd paint it a 68 charger gold
@@biggbear6218 painting it would definitely change the character of the car. Gold…a golden lancer! 😊
@@junkyard_D the 68 charger gold has the right kind of look I think for the Lancer myself but we all have our own taste put some old style steel wheels n dog dish hub caps on give it a little rake put you a 360 in it be a sharp car just my opinion
The patina looks great
@@calvincrews3885 thanks. It does show its character!
Post car
The one with AC.😊❄️⚡
I'd take the third choice!!😊
Is that the one behind me that you can’t see?
@@junkyard_D yup, the one with the cage
@@Raycr oooooh. That one!!! YES Please!
I’m still torn between patina or paint…🤔 I like them both. This is a great candidate for the patina to stay. The car is becoming known for its character and how it looks now. But they do look great painted. 👍 My Dads 62 Lancer is gloss black and it looks sharp! And it definitely accentuates and shows off the body lines! And It’s not perfect or straight by any means. And it gets a ton of attention. I’m wanting to chop the top on my 62 Plymouth, Valiant and suicide the doors and put a 340/4-speed in it, etc. And then paint it a dark grey/blueish battleship color. Can’t loose whatever direction Vic chooses to go with it in the end! It’s still an attention getter…😎👊🏻
@@heavensmopars I am also torn. Get fresh new paint and a new fresh outlook or keep all the character and history of the car. It will look great either way. I am looking forward to you chopping yours. That will look awesome! 👍
So did I bless or curse Vic, (and everyone else) with Stone Soup?… 🤔🤷🏼♂️😬😉 That glass must’ve really been hiding inside the driver door! Especially since none of us had seen it! Thanks for all your hard work and contribution to the project. 👍😎
@@heavensmopars maybe one of those blessing and a curse kinda things 😄. I have really enjoyed being apart of this build. Thank you ScoTT for donating this car. It was the perfect platform for this project.
That should help with the towing bills! 😃👍
The hard top coupe.
@@davidhigby3607 very nice! 👍
Looks like you guys are having fun with it. Seat belts weren't federally required until 1964 or 65. You can probably retrofit something when you are working on the floors.
We are having fun with it. That’s what I’m thinking. As long as they are in good shape and installed correctly.
I'm not picky I like them both.
@@johnarndt1444 they are both beautiful cars!
