I'm an honorably discharged Navy Veteran who served in the Desert Storm War. I was diagnosed with PTSD and other ailments from my military service. I almost died while serving in the Desert War. It took me a while to come out of my shell and begin to trust and feel comfortable being around people, doing things and traveling. I want to take others who suffer from PTSD on my journeys. I'm hoping that my channel, VET HAT TRAVELS & EATS, can help those who are like me get that extra boost of confidence to get out and see the world!
Virgin cruise’s Club BIMINI was off the CHAIN Jan 2025
We had the greatest time in Bimini but I do suggest that if you go get there a little early to get a good seat by the pool. The music was perfect, the weather was great and everyone was having a wonderful time. I recommend this cruise to every adult living. lol. #virginvoyages

Virgin Cruises are perfect for people with anxiety and PTSD.

I’m a Desert Storm Veteran and I suffer from anxiety and PTSD. Virgin cruises are so laid back and you choose how you want to relax. If you want to be alone chill and enjoy some quiet time or if you want to let your hair down and party the whole time the choice is up to you. I think that this is the perfect cruise for a veteran or a person who has anxiety who want to cruise but want to just chi...

It was an amazing experience. I call it the Veteran’s March on the Promenade. The ceremony was great an it was very emotional. So many veterans. Yes, that was an amazing time.

MSC OCEAN CAY YACHT CLUB Experience May 2023
I was there, attached with VFA-83, F/A-18 Hornet squadron. One of the sailors who drowned had worked for me in the squadron's Ops division AN Randy Neel. I escorted his body back to his home in Albuquerque. Will never forget that experience. We had to pack the metal coffins they were put in with ice, after identifying the bodies.
Hey my brother, thx for responding. I can only imagine how that was. It was hell on that platform trying to breathe air into the lungs of our brothers. It was horrific and I want America to remember. I hope that God has blessed you and your family.
We just disembarked Virgin on Wednesday. We loved it. After causing with royal one time, I was like, "Meh, cruising is alright." I agree with everything you said. That's why we're looking to book again soon with Virgin.
Yayyyy, I’m so happy you all had a great time. We love Virgin and it’s different from the rest. Continue cruising Virgin. God bless.
I was a member of the USS John F Kennedy. I did recall when this tragedy happened. My name is Retired Chief petty officer Smith. I will look for your book "Screams Overboard".
Thank you so much sir. God bless you and your family.
I really appreciate this video brother. It sounded like you were talking to me directly. I am going on a cruise in September to celebrate my second oldest son's birthday, my third oldest graduation and my wife and I anniversary. This cruise will be on the Royal Caribbean "Mariner of the seas". It will be my first cruise since getting out of the Navy. I do suffer from PTSD and anxiety from desert shield/storm and from the TCG Muavenet incident. Who knows this may be really good therapy for me. Thanks for your encouraging words and I look forward to more content from you. God Bless you and your wife.
Thank you so much my brother and I wish you and your family the best cruise ever. You’ll have a great time and especially because you’ll be with your family. Thank you so much for your service to our country and please let me know how it goes.

Sounds good. I love cruises definitely not into crazy crowds. My last Royal Caribbean we took hours to get on in line, even though we followed the rules. Never again.
I totally understand. You would love this cruise. Royal has just too many people and kids.
It sounds fun. I do like to go to some of the events. As an older vet myself, sounds like I’d really enjoy it. Sounds like the right vibe. Thanks for your video.
@katsybo you’re very welcomed and thank you for your service.
I still struggle with the haunting memories of that night. As you can see, I still do searches to see if the story is still out there. I'm still struggling with this.
Hang in there my brother. Make sure that you get to a VA for some help. This is another reason why I’ve been pushing our story because so many weren’t able to receive care in which everyone on our ship should be able to receive care for what happened and other things. Just hang in there and take each day at a time.
Thanks for the info!
No problem.
God bless you, congratulations and keep rocking this channel.
Thank you so much and I’m going to keep trying. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for your service
Thank you so much. God bless.
Hey brother, I just sent you an email, hopefully you can respond to it fairly quickly. God Bless y'all.
💔I remember this sad night 💔 The lights in the dark night to rescue the sailors. 🙏
Thank you for your service. Just got offered an upgrade and wasn't sure what I wanted to do.
Thx for your comment, let me know how it goes? God bless
Thanks for talking about this, I was just talking to my son about an incident that happened a couple of years later on the Sara in 92 when our ship fired a middle at a NATO ship and took out the brig and how the Sara sent repair parties, medical and what ever else to help save the ship. Does anybody else remember that? Our skipper was Captain Drager.
I was in VS-30 and had SP duty from 2400 -0800 that night, fortunately when we were mustering for duty that night it got cancelled do to bad weather. So I went back my squadron’s berthing and just gotten in my rack, when all hell broke loose over the 1MC. I thought it was a dream for a minute. Then later after I learned what happened, I realized and thanked God that I wasn’t on that ferry. I had an AW friend in one of the helo squadrons that was one that ferry and he said that had seconds to respond and jumped overboard just before it went down. He said that the water was freezing and a tough swim back to the camelback. And on the way, he heard other shipmates in the water struggling. He said that it was very dark and some of the rescue boats were hitting some of the guys in the water because they couldn’t see them. He eventually made it back.
Wow, that night is one night we’ll never let go. I’m trying to bring this to the light because those families need to hear from us. God speed my brother.
i hope i see you!!! im leaving in feb!!!
What about noise? I heard that could be the problem sometimes for some people?
Thx for your reply and honestly we didn’t hear anything. It’s really quiet where we were
@@vethattravelseats1785 Very good news! 🙂
That is a night I will always remember. Had just gotten relieved from watch in Combat Direction Center when all hell broke loose. I have a video on my channel talking about my recollections of that night. Thanks for helping to keep the memory of all those lost alive. OS2 in OI division Ops Dept.

Thank you for your service to our country! We are a military family as well. New subscribers here. 😊
Happy New Year and thank you so much also thank you for your service to our country. ❤️
Nice review.
Thank you so much. Happy holidays.
I went on that NYE cruise for my very first "solo cruise"...it was absolutely amazing!!!
I had a friend that was one of the men on the Ferry. Thankfully he survived but he still cannot talk about this du to the trauma.
Thx for your reply. I totally understand and this is why I want the public to know about that night. I hope that he is getting help.
I was the last guy onto the 500 man ferry that launched before the accident. It will haunt me forever.
Hey my brother, I totally understand and this is why I’m trying so hard to let America and those families off our brothers what happened and how we tried our best to rescue our brothers from an accident that should have never happened. God bless my brother.
Marketing. They nailed it
I was on the previous ferry that was at the back of the carrier letting sailors off, and we pulled away before all of us got off. We started pulling guys from the water. It was a cold rough night. Some of them were already gone. We went back to fleet landing and slept in a warehouse. I gave a guy my coat cause he was wet and freezing. If we had stopped at fleet landing and got a burger, like some in our group wanted, we would have been on the ferry that sank. I will never forget that night.
Hey my brother. I hope God has been good to you and your family. Yes, I’ll never forget that night and that’s the whole reason I’m trying to get this to the public and to the families of our deceased brothers. Thank you for your comment my brother and God bless.
LOVE HER VOICE!!! ❤️ We will be on this ship for New Years!!!
Hello, shipmate. I was stationed in Mayport at SIMA during that time. I had just under 1 year remaining of my 2-year shore tour obligation. We received word that the Sara needed sailors in the ABE rating (catapults and arresting gear). Me and a fellow ABE1 both volunteered. The Navy turned me down because of my "obligation", even though technically my relief had already reported for duty. The other one was allowed as he was on a shore duty extension and deployed with Saratoga. Anyway, I just wanted to get back to sea and be with my brothers out there. The tragedy hit the Mayport station community hard, and I was pier side when Sara returned for her very bittersweet homecoming. I fully understand your PTSD and can't take that experience away from you. But I always felt I should have been there with my brothers, either as a rescuer or simply perished with the others. Because of a technicality I wasn't able to. Some may say it's petty and insignificant, but it is what it is. I went back to sea duty aboard the JFK which had just returned from Desert Storm. I wish you all the best with your struggles, brother. P. Waring, ABE1, USN 1981-1992.
We toook this cruise from Brooklyn last week not yacht club though. We had a balcony. Celebrity had the Captains Club which was real nice. Lots of stuff like robes, hair dryer, binoculars, umbrellas.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that you are not alone. My husband just missed that ferry and was on the one right behind it. He lost dear friends that night and a huge piece of himself. Between survivor’s guilt and PTSD, he lives in the shadow of that night.
God bless you and your family. I understand totally about your husband.
I was there at fleet landing that night. Tragedy, long night
I was there, but on shore. VAW-125. What a ver sad, stressful, unbelievable night night that I wish I had never been a part of. We hadn't technically been to war yet, and we had already lost so many shipmates. I knew SN Carrington from my Company in boot camp. I had spoken to him in the hangar bay 2 days before this happened. RIP Carrington.
Larry Clark RIP. DELGOTO RIP
Delgato was a true hero. They say he was on the boat but he also went down trying to help the others survive as best he could and he lost his life. I feel for all of their families and that's why I'm trying to bring this story to the light to pay respect and give honor.
I need help with information
I was there one of the first on the flight deck
What's your name bc I was there
I was HM3 Valentine. I was the first corpsman at that aft platform. Half of the medical staff were on shore.
Thanks for doing this. This event has haunted me to this day. I still struggle with what happened that day. I was an AK3 assigned to the S-8 Division and was a part of the rescue party (I was on the duty working party) that night. The memories of that night still haunt me to this day and I'm still dealing with it. I thought I was the only one affected but now I know I'm not crazy. I remember being on the fantail pulling guys off the small rescue boats that brought in the dead and the survivors. Thanks you fo doing this because I'm still struggling with it.
Thx for your comment shipmate and yes there are several of us still dealing with that night. I'm just trying to bring awareness to this so that America won't forget our deceased brothers and their families will have some type of closure. God bless brother.
I'm in that room in June 2025. Thanks!
You're gonna love it and you're very close to the Yacht Club lounge. Let me know about your fun experience.
Amtrak use to come from LA Union Station to Vegas and then on up to Salt Lake
The train station in Vegas was at the Union Plaza hotel.
I prefer Samsung
You're absolutely right.
Looking g forward to trying out the yacht club.
How were u able to get the Yacht Club Experience and still be in an inside cabin?
Hello and thanks for your comment. Yes, there are inside cabins in the Yacht Club experience. You get the exact same amenities and plus there are several families who do inside Yacht Club because of kids and or people who just want their privacy. I hope I was able to answer your questions.
I think about the sailors who died. I was there, and I responded from AIMD. I lost two good friends from my shop. I was an AE shop 6 AIMD. Thank you for keeping the story going. God bless You
Thank you my brother. I hope that God has blessed you and your family. Yes, America forgot about us and all I want is for America to see their names one last time and know what happened to us that night. God bless brother.
Hennessy purposely does this. They sold it last fall in the liquor stores for a limited time. It’s basically a novelty and because it’s not sold in the states people mass buy it when they travel out of the states. It’s all marketing.
Thanks for your comment. You're right.
In Áurea you should get the Aurea robes & slippers and pillow choices. Just ask your room Steward for them.❤ as they're part if the Aurea experience 🎉
I have done both YC and Fantastica on the same MSC ships (Meraviligia & Seaview) and enjoyed BOTH experiences! I find that if you're going to have a very "active". vacation (excursions, days getting off the ship) or young children with you (they want to around the main ship enjoying all the activities) then I book the FANTASTICA experience. If I plan to stay onboard and relax, I do YC. Then I get the full enjoyment of what YC has to offer! Ps the YC on Seaview was in Europe and I have to admit, YC & Fantastica in the USA is much better! A lot of the crew here in Europe REALLY WANT TO GET A CONTRACT ON THE USA based ships😊
We just booked an AFT for next summer’s Alaska cruise. I do home hemo dialysis and those rooms are bigger and can accommodate my machine and supplies. Highly recommended the AFT, I tip my room attendant a little extra and they’ll bring some of the nice lounge chairs to relax in… we typically do breakfast almost every day on the veranda….
Thx so much for your reply. Yes, I hope you have a wonderful cruise.
How do disabled veterans travel with power wheelchair? Seeing this is now almost to elect Biden's replacement? I'm not touching Kamala with a 60 ft pole!
your strategy works like charm if you want to get out of a boring meeting lol!!!
What worked for me in Egypt was: three times say NOs and proceed to ignore.
My guy is scared to fly and I refuse to driving 22hrs from St. Louis. I'm hoping they have upgraded. I want to visit in December.
