I have played this piece at Orchestra on the viola many times and am doing it again at the next concert. Master of the House is the best part with the trombone slide in. Always puts a smile on my face!

Why are the second violins playing B on the G string the B is on the A string.
a lot of professionals use shifting instead because once they adapt to it, it gets more convenient than string crossing
On the G string you have different notes. Starting with open G, then 1st finger A, 2nd finger B, 3rd finger C and 4th finger D within the first position.
