Challenged To 3X FPS Without Upscaling in UE5 | Insults From Toxic Devs Addressed
In this video our founder optimizes a project that created a disproportionate view on the cost of real time realism. This video shows major core problems with unreal engine such as workflows and foundational management issues. Then, we will address the abundant insults thrown at this studio in order to attack our credibility.
We prove the people who insult us do not watch our content or ignore crucial statements we've defined. Despite these attacks, we show many developers and major industry names have applauded our work because we stand for a new direction consumers and developers want for their games.
We are here to provide the PROOF for gamers and guide developers about the modern issues with how realism is being destroyed by poor shader designs, workflows and false narratives. Drop us a 👍's up & subscribe, and watch the whole video without skipping to KEEP the UA-cam algorithm on our side! Thank you!

Fake Optimization in Modern Graphics (And How We Hope To Save It)

We are a new indie game studio working on a new IP but a couple years ago we discovered a huge narrative behind optimization that was not only destructive to realism and motion, but also false. This false narrative is being abused more than ever by industry leaders. Of course they will hate you, because the truth exposes their selfish approach, which consists of selling expensive equipment as the only solution for launching conveyor-belt low-quality crafts, without optimization, so that they can spend as little time as possible on producing bad games and make money on this, lowering the quality bar, as if this is normal. And when you show how you can add FPS without losing quality, just working with knowledge of the matter, it infuriates them, because then they will have to hire more qualified employees, and controversial marketing decisions will increasingly cause dissatisfaction among buyers. They simply do not want to play fair and develop, it is easier for them to deceive and profit from the incompetence of some people. Do not pay attention to stupid criticism, you say it as it should be, with time everything can work out for you and you will achieve your goals. Keep up the good work.

Raytrace was supposed to be a dev/movie animation tool only, not for realtime rendering, there is no point in that. I had no interest in any RTX right after the GTX 1000 Series, the benefits vs FPS hit still is insane nowadays. The market also responded the same way, waiting for RT GPUs to 'mature', but this is the state we are left rn

One of the worst "features" of UE5 is that it gets more and more stuttery and chuggy the more you play, it requires a PC restart to clean up back to scratch, simply restarting the game does nothing.

I'll be honest; any time I see gameplay that is running at low FPS even when it doesn't seem like it should, my immediate assumption is that something being rendered didn't get optimized, or was optimized incorrectly. I just look at the horrible, unoptimized mess that is Skyrim. Yes, not every developer is Bethesda, but if Bethesda gave us a horrible, unoptimized mess in the form of Skyrim Special Edition when they had time to do an optimization pass, why would I assume that other developers wouldn't do the exact same thing on the assumption that computer hardware is so powerful now that nobody will notice when they cut corners?

Video games are grounded in graphical realism as much as any fantasy is grounded in literal realism. But big studios, the only ones capable of making high quality realism, are instead destroying it. Edit: Laura's hair will haunt me and my 1060 to our graves.

For a long time the game industry has been a cocktail of pressuring devs to develop faster, which leads to sloppier development, which leads to newer devs getting used to it and not knowing what actual optimization is, followed by increasingly demanding games that should not be that demanding to begin with because there are games looking equally good without needing top tier hardware with dlss to reach 30fps. this also seats great with loobying from giants that dominate the market like Nvidia, who have been pushing this need for more and more hardware to increase sales and making the midrange budget PC market a dumpster fire of awful price/performance cards, forcing you to either be a low gamer than can't run these games, or have top tier uber pc's to have a somewhat acceptable performance

This kind of aggression and extreme language is gathering together the wrong kinds of people. I just can't take it seriously. UE5 and TAA certainly has problems, but this really isn't the way to go about it. This kind of approach makes you look like a crazy cult, even if you have many valid points.

I remember seeing DLSS for the first time and thinking wow, what an amazing technology to give people with lower end specs the opportunity to actually play newer games with decent framerates!... Never would I have expected it to be a requirement to play games with decent frames even when you have a higher end specs. It's gross how the moment there's these basically "free fps booster" settings available (which clearly make the image worse), everyone just starts depending on them instead of optimizing anything. I can only hope this trend turns around.

As someone who's honestly in the upper echelon of PCs with a 6800xt, I'm so tired of having to go into my settings to get games to run smoothly at 1440p. Nevermind that after I get the games running well, they typically look like garbage because every resource nowadays is so incredibly expensive for literally no reason beyond modern developers and their leaders being too lazy to sit down with their products and iron out their kinks. Games over a decade old simply look almost as good and run far better than anything we have today because devs see the hardware then have the immediate urge to max it all out. It also doesn't help that on the Nvidia side they're shoving RT cores into the things that serve zero purpose outside of ray tracing as opposed to having more that can do raster relying on other types of lighting sources that don't destroy performance.

Bad optimization is why i honestly don't even buy ue games anymore... especially now that ue5 exists. If my 10th gen i7 and 2060 can't handle your game with at least medium settings at 1080p (without upscailing) then it's not worth the money.

I love how the first reason why light maps dont work isnt cause they don't work is cause devs roday just are lazy and bad at their jobs. They dont deserve 70 dollars when they are too lazy to do the work.

Everything you stand and speak about is valid, i've personally noticed that games have become trash, they look blurry because of TAA and scaling (which has been straight up forced in new games, no way to turn it off like in older games), they're unoptimized and they run like shit, even the amount of disk space they take up has become ridiculous, it feels like we've lost knowledge on how to optimize and compress software...

I don`t know anything about inside work of a game engine, but your videos made me wanna understand how all of this work and what exactly you are talking about, even if just a little bit. And it would be greate if you could make some kind of begginer list at your website so people would know where to start) Yeah, some people may say that you just promoting stuff, but i think many problems and abuses of bad practices can also come from not knowing how to do it the right way.

5:13 I don't think sacrificing performance for visual fidelity should be common business practice. A minimum 60 fps for most games SHOULD be possible on mid range to high range cards, yes this does include 30 series. If a game is STRUGGLING to keep 60 FPS on 40 series, it shouldn't even be discussed. A games main selling point should not be graphics, the gameplay should not suffer for better graphics, using graphics as a cover for low frame rate is despicable.

Most of the new games rely too much on modern gpus. Game devs have become so lazy and rely so much on gpus. It's just crazy that a game like chained together needs a very capable gpu to even run at a playable frame rate.
