I'm not fond of the breakable knife and kinda wish they kept Leon's og knife. I also don't like the cross hairs on all weapons, but I do like the mob mechanics. It feels like the enemies close in on you before you know it most of the time

The problem for me is how enemies just tank headshots without getting stunned when in the OG any headshot gave you an opening for a melee and how the laser sight is only available on 2 handguns and for the rest of the guns we have to deal with reticle bloom and inaccurate crosshairs. The knife is pretty cool because I got sick of just shooting people down and slashing them until they die in the OG. I like the tank controls in the OG and when the demo for the remake came out I hated the sluggish movement but after I beat the game once I learned how to manage it and it doesn't bother me at all now. Also the recoil throws off your aim in the remake where in the OG your shot recenters to exactly where it was after each shot which I strongly prefer. If all of these changes didn't exist I would like everything better about the remake but that is what holds it back for me

Gunplay in the Remake struggles a bit because it wants you to play like RE2/3 where you are knee capping and not killing. But i wouldnt say thats a good idea to do in RE4. If you are going to shoot, its to kill or build distance to kill. I dont know if they fixed it, but unlike the other remakes... The Crosshairs dont narrow if there is any R-Stick/Mouse movement.

For the Sluggish/Clunky feeling is because you have to play out every weighty animation the game queued up and there is zero snappness to the Animations. If you need to turn 160 well guess what... real humans dont just turn on a dime and your character has to come to almost a complete stop and then turn their whole body to face that new direction. Clunky feeling. Notice in the original... The only Animations playing are World Interactions, Context Actions, and weapon actions that cant be interrupted.

RE4R is better than the og in nearly every single way. Gameplay, soundtrack, sound design, graphics, environments, set pieces, weapons, movement, voice acting, tone, bosses, balance, story, etc. the remake destroys the og😂

idk i disagree i only og re4 and have been playing it for years but the remake is clearly the superior version except for maybe some cutscenes that had more style in the og
