A Few Steps to go Full Time in Video Production
Переглядів 174День тому
It took me a while to realize that I could make money doing what I love. I believed what other people told me for too long. Its too competitive, theres no money to be made, it will be hard...bla bla bla. Once I stopped letting other peoples opinion shape my decisions, I was able to really start living my life!

Hey Tom, Send me a message on IG (@Asnycz) or email me and i’ll reply back with the training! (Andrew@NyczProductions.com)
Awesome experience, Man that weather!
I know bro, god had other plans. It will be released next year! Trailer at the end of this month :)
So organized! My shit is all set up with lights on stands, cameras on monopods... audio mics already plugged in and hooked up.. headphones wrapped around the lens.. Then I chaotically tetris everything in the back of the car while driving super careful to the location. Then I just walk right in with wires and cords dangling triple fisting equipment in both hands like a mad scientist. Luckily nothing has been damage so far!
I’m actually setup on that program for my real estate content here in MN, same amount of time and deliverables!
Thats amazing. How do you like working in real estate? What is the best way you've found to source agents that are willing to invest in content?
@@Andrew_Nycz I’m both a real estate agent and a content creator, so I’m actually the client for these. I met the media company owner both by referral, through social media and in person where they sponsored an event. For years I had been going it alone and finding videographers, editors etc as needed but it’s nice to have a dedicated partner now. I’d recommend searching for agents that are already creating content in your area, connect with them online, offer to meet up to discuss strategies, once you’ve earned their trust you can offer to help them level up their production For me, I have most of the equipment and the vision but not always the time so it’s worth partnering with specialist. The ROI on content (especially video) for a real estate agent is huge!
We use a x32 rack mount for audio it's pretty awesome for audio for live streaming!
Good to know! I have had this one in my shopping cart on a few occasions. Haha!
There is nothing wrong with the Zoom H8. This is what it's designed to do
Thanks! I just kept getting feedback I the speaker the past few times I ran this setup so I thought that it may have been the zoom.
Have you ever flown with the live box as checked luggage?
I haven't. Based on the build quality though, I would feel comfortable checking it!
@@Andrew_Nycz right on, between now and CES I'm trying to figure out what the best way to transport an entire video podcast setup would be, all within 2-3 checked bags. I have the atem mini pro, rodecaster, and sony cameras
@@BrandonDoyleMN Yea the live box and a few pelican cases should get the job done! Or you can get the pelican air and carry on all you cams/lenses and just check the tripods and stands etc.
@@Andrew_Nycz yeah, Pelican Air seems like the way to go for most of the equipment. I just like the idea of the live box because of built in screen and having everything just plug in externally. I'm worried that the buttons and ports might get damaged in transit though
Great video 💪🏽 definitely some nuggets in there and cool to hear a bit about your story and what you did to create a foundation when you were getting started. Networking is key! Would love to hear how you handle client acquisition in the next one.
I’m on it 🤛🏻
That cable roll was crisp 👌🏼
@@ArtherreroDoP Can’t stand when people don’t know how to roll!
Thanks for sharing brother! Always great to see local content 💪🏽
My man! Im subbed! Where are you based?
@@Andrew_Nycz yoooo!!! I am in west palm beach. Just moved up here from Broward. How about you?
Great setup! thanks for the video!!!
Absolutely! I appreciate you
Wicked setup! Love your behind the scenes content
Thank you!!!
love to connect about your retainer model.
Send me an email or DM me on IG and we will chat!
OBS has Studio Mode and Multiview mode which you can view all your sources
Really? How do I do that?!
@@Andrew_Nycz The Studio mode is right there in the controls tab underneath Virtual camera. To view multiview go to Veiw tab and you will find it there. You can either view it on your secondary monitor or your primary monitor. You acan also just have it as an extra tab on your primary monitor, and you can resize it however you want. Bear in mind that the names that will appear on your inputs are the scene names and not the source names so name your scenes accordingly.
I don’t think this would qualify as a professional studio. Nice budget setup though.
You would qualify this as a budget setup?
@@Andrew_Nycz definitely, a budget broadcast setup. Don't get me wrong, I like what you guys are doing. But it's a relatively simplistic setup with no redundancy, little scalability and no flexibility in routing. Things you would see in a more professional setup. Also things sutch as a dedicated switching station, audio mixing station, talk back, recorders etc are all missing. things you would expect in a professional setup. But again love to see the rabbit advancements in broadcast technology and it becoming more affordable and accessible for project with a lower budget.
@@neroaugustes6142 Great insight man, I appreciate it. This isn't my studio I was just a guest. I guess what I was getting at was that its a step up from my mobile set up :)
@@Andrew_Nycz absolutely
100% budget set up but still really nice
Thank you so much for this video. It really gives me insight on how to handle myself in this situation. A lot of information & real time equipment, equipment positioning. Like that snake thing is awesome & always wondered how they got the xlr cords to reach the soundboard. My thing is how or what do you use for internet ? I know you said to hardwire but I would love to know the solution to connecting to the internet for on the go live streaming. I just subscribed to your channel as well. Please make more videos like this & feel free to dive deep into setup. Thank you
Appreciate your feedback!! The internet is supplied by client, but you can always get a mobile stand alone solution if you'd like. It's called StarLink I think. Kinda pricey tho!!
Great episode/sit down convo here! Crazy how a chance meeting with someone at a skate park leads to a friendship and biz relationship with someone else years later! Keep creating brother. Love your content
Glad you enjoyed it!
Phenomenal!!!!!!!!! We love to see that the MEA live Box is a part of your amazing setup! Keep pushing guys! ~Enisha @ MEA Live Box
Thanks so much, we appreciate the comment :)
nice setup for a mobile podcast. Where can you purchase the live box with monitor?
You can check them out here mealivebox.com/
I would like to see the cable you are using from the road caster to the ATEM mini pro iso. I have tried numerous cables and cannot get them to work without buzzing and nasty noises. Now I am trying a silly clean box adding more cables….. thank you
I’ve had success with this one! a.co/d/01JayMbQ
@@Andrew_Nycz dang that was a fast response !! Thank you my man
How long are your HDMIs? Do you run into any issues with that long of a run? Which brand do you like?
Honestly hard to find good ones unless you spend big $$. You don’t want longer than 50ft is what I’ve read. Its one thing you don’t want to cheap out on. I’ve bought some cheap ones and they end up in the trash after a few gigs because the signal glitches or flickers :/
Yeah, I have definitely ran into issues with long runs
@@Andrew_Nycz in this case maybe some wireless HDMI systems like Hollyland or Accsoon will be more helpful?
@@yevgenyermak You are 100% correct. I have used them, but haven’t needed them enough to buy yet. I’m sure if they go on sale in the future I will grab a few sets to have handy.
Love this
Thanks!
Just got yourself a new sub from Singapore, keep it up boss!
Thanks so much! Anything I can do to help you in your journey let me know :)
Why Atem devices not streaming the same quality ( for example in youtube) as he recording? Ethernet speed is not a problem.
Great question, there could be many variables…What platform are you streaming to?
@@Andrew_Nycz Most often it is youtube and facebook. The problem is the same for booth platforms. No matter which one I use. I have ATEM mini PRO with (HDMI) and I have Atem extreme SDI.
Great run through thanks
Glad you enjoyed it 🤛🏻
Another great video! You inspired me to create videos like this. I filmed 2 from podcasts I filmed with the switcher and Rodecaster. Keep crushing it and inspiring us out here!
That is awesome, can’t wait to watch 🎥🔐
Excellent video! Where can I find that atem box with the monitor or is that custom?
You can grab them here : mealivebox.com/
Hey brother nice work love all the way grom South Africa
South Africa! Amazing. Thanks so much for the support
This is so clean set-up. Nice work, man!
Jeno you are the man. Thank you!
🔥🙌
My man, thank you.
Hey man, you have great videos, and got a subscriber from Germany here :) just want to say thank you for a lot of useful information 😎👍
Thanks so much for the support! Germany, wow! Lets goooo 🎥📸
Great video! Do you have any issues with slide graphics looking pixelated via zoom when streaming via the Atem?
Not at all! These were powerpoints coming from a laptop in control booth 🤛🏻
@@Andrew_Nycz thanks so much for the reply. I do a similar setup to you guys and occasionally, the virtual audience on Zoom on Teams state the slides are pixelated. Couldn't believe it myself until I saw it. Ended up just sharing the slides on the platform. Weird really, but keep up the amazing channel. Great to see others. I'm England, UK based.
Thanks for making the video!! Had no idea that I could charge 4K for this stuff. I need to tap into those type of clients :) Cheers from NY/NJ
Alot about tapping into the mindset too 🔐 Happy to help in anyway I can.
Hi Andrew, Greetings from the UK. I've been following your content and thank you for it-it's truly excellent. I also appreciate that you show behind-the-scenes footage. I am a videographer as well, but I have many questions about returning clients, pricing, where and how to find them, and so on. Would it be possible to contact you privately via email or another platform? Thank you, and best regards.
No problem! Send me an email 🤛🏻 Andrew@NyczProductions.com
here to give the first like and view. dont forget to let your gear acclimate to heat before bringing it outside!
Thanks! For sure, don't want to get caught with a foggy lens :)
Great video man! Appreciate it. Could you share the batteries you use for the cameras and how you connect them, Thank you!
Thanks! On the Fx3 I just have a small rig V Mount battery that is keeping the camera battery charged up through USB C!
My two cents, back up footage on site! At least one copy. That way you can QC before you're out of the space. As least watch a clip or two with headphones and check the sound, that there was no oversight like shooting in S&Q by accident, etc. This easy task saves productions.
You are right. I got home and there was a few clips/takes on this job I would have re shot. Solid advice, and I will start doing this. Thank you!
I'm an Engineer for Live Sound & Recording I want to give you props on caring about the audio for your video production!!!! I'm not a videographer person but I would say with all respect some people don't know about audio and video/content going together. Sometimes the focus is on the video/content but either a client doesn't know about the tech side or people sometimes don't care. I heard you say you use the Podcaster from Rode I used to work at Sam Ash a lot of people used to purchase those. I'm from Miami I feel your traffic pain bolllll keep it coming with your presentations!!!
I appreciate the comment! For sure, audio is 50% of the viewing experience!
Genuinely curious, how would you justify / invoice a job like this for 4-7k? I've obviously been undercharging for my work as of late
Livestreaming requires much more equipment, technical knowledge and back ups for back ups to ensure the feed doesn’t go down. This was an 8 hour job and we set up the night prior (2 hours). It also required two people but 3 would have been ideal. One thing that I did when I was starting out selling this type of service was calling other companies to get quotes to see what other people were charging! Happy to chat more just send me a message if you want.
Yes 🤝🏽🙏🏽🔊
Thank you!
basic atem mini can write video on ssd? i think it can only ISO or PRO version
oh, i see))) you have PRO ISO version 😁
Yes maybe I should title the video differently, apologies 😂
I like BTS videos. Nice work. Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate you checking it out!
Do you have a link for that collapsible cart? Looks very practical.
Thats my friends, but it’s a scaffolding cart from home depot with an extra shelf and upgraded casters.
@@Andrew_Nycz Thanks. Follows your point about thinking flexibly.
That 3rd camera at the top is hard-wired to the switcher via a long hdmi cable, is that right? (Not wireless?)
nope. no long HDMI cable. that thing attached to the top of it is a Hollyland wireless transmitter.
personally, I think we have reached a point in tech evolution where the humble ethernet (cat 6) cable is the best bang for buck reaching longer distances for gigs this size. That means you camera has to plug into an encoder (or have the ability to stream internally). The ATEM MINI PRO getting SRT streaming is a watershed moment for this LAN streaming mindset. With h265 and SRT, you have enough quality to switch digital inputs. You just need a network switch and a couple of encoders. If you don't want to rig up a hollyland, you can use a Link Pi ENC1. I have the Link Pi Enc5-V2 would act's like a "video stage box" so I can get all my cameras at the front of the room to plug in (and maybe a presenter's laptop) and it will encode all the cameras into individual streams which can be switched with TopDirector, vMix, OBS, or even ProPresenter. It can do NDI as well but I'm standardising on SRT h265 for relatively low-bandwidth cheap practical goodness. I might start doing some videos on the topic once I get more work to prove the workflow.
Great sharing this so much ! How do incrust the Cam 2 with the presentation for zoom?
I think you are referring to the picture in picture? There is a button on that the switcher and you can control the size and which camera is showing in the ATEM software for desktop
😮
Thanks bro
I like this format bro, awesome work.
Thanks man don’t get used to it 😂😂😂
Amazing setup!
Thanks man, appreciate that!
Great video. Definitely collaboration over competition with other likeminded videographers and business owners! I’m about to go over and check out your other video with the Atem and monitor setup
Collaboration at the top!!!
