Psychedelic Guitar Jam Backing Track in E minor - Two Chords Slow Dramatic Build Up
Переглядів 67014 днів тому
Here’s a backing track based on a 60’s psychedelic rock groove - an imaginary jam session between The Doors and Jefferson Airplane, maybe. The arrangement builds and builds over several verses to a dramatic climax… And then relaxes and starts all over again. Just two chords, but you won’t be bored, that’s for sure. If you know your Phrygian mode scale shapes, you’re good to go. If not, it’s eas...
Short, Sweet, Gritty and Great Fun - Rolling Stones-style Jam Track
Переглядів 312Місяць тому
Is this a Classic Era Rolling Stones-style backing track? Depends on what you define as Classic Era, of course, but this has their swagger and grit aplenty in this bluesey, rocking, catchy slice-of-the-times that you’ll just love to solo over. Will you be emulating Mick Taylor? Or Ronnie Wood? Or Keef himself? Pentatonic licks will sound great: try a mixture of minor and major. Whenever you hea...
E D A E - That Chord Progression You MUST Know Guitar Backing Track
Переглядів 3,9 тис.Місяць тому
You’ll hear this chord progression ( l - bVll - lV - l ) in so many genres - Rock, Blues, Pop, Country, Indie/Alternative, Americana, Jazz etc, that you really need to feel comfortable and be able to solo fluently over it. It’s great fun too, and you can get really “lost in the music” here - close your eyes and jam away! We are technically in the Mixolydian Mode here, but if modes aren’t your t...
Grab your Guitar and Jam to this Fabtastic Blues Rock Shuffle in C

It’s got rhythm, it’s got quick-change, it’s got production values to keep every verse interesting, it’s got a hefty back-beat, it’s got 12 bars, it’s only six minutes long, and you’re gonna love soloing over this one. Most players are going to spend most time with this track playing lead guitar, and that’s great - but it’s also worth checking out your rhythm chops too as keeping up and accurat...

Ok, you don’t HAVE to have a Gretsch White Falcon to solo along with this fantastic backing track - a Les Paul into a Marshall, a Stratocaster into an AC30, even an electro-acoustic into a practice amp… Just dial in the twang and back off the distortion, sauce it with slapback, sprinkle on the reverb and you’re good to go. Jam with your best double stops and country sixths, blend in some chord ...
Dreamy Dorian Mode Moody Backing Track in A minor - Essential Guitar Practice
Переглядів 7292 місяці тому
Enjoy jamming with this long, slow, moody minor backing track with a Dorian Mode feel. Definitely a Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon” album era vibe here, with a touch of The Doors, Santana and even some Beatles tunes in the chord progression. Also, jazz, jazz-rock, roots, folk and folk-rock tunes and musics influenced by these often use Dorian too, so this is a great introduction to those sou...

A super crunchy, pounding, gritty, four-to-the-floor 12 bar blues backing track in A with an absolutely crushing beat that you’ll love to solo over - guaranteed! A driving blues rock progression in A with a quirky G chord thrown in to spice the pot (do target that G note/flat seventh or other chord ...

Forgive me for being a little bit Paranoid (geddit?) but the channel can’t afford a copyright strike or the royalties for accurate song backing tracks, and that’s not really what we do here. What we do have are the same chords as that famous and venerable proto-metal tune… But in a somewhat different order. The rhythm, groove, arrangement and instrumentation here gives you a familiar authentic ...
Don't Miss This Oasis-Style Backing Track in G - Britpop and Indie Rock Guitar Jam

Inspired by trending band-of-the-moment Oasis, and the sounds of other ‘90’s Britpop and Indie rock bands, this great backing track has huge attitude, and also echoes their fascination with earlier bands such as T Rex, David Bowie, Slade, The Beatles, The Small Faces, The Rolling Stones etc. Solos on these songs tend to be short and punchy, and also include small memorable fills here and there ...
Lazy Feel 8 Bar Blues in E Guitar Backing Track - Five Minute Jam Session
Переглядів 2855 місяців тому
A very cool backing track for your practice session today - who needs a 12 bar blues when you can get it done in 8? A classic progression, used in many blues, rock, country and pop songs and great fun to improvise to: the changes come at you faster, despite the laid-back lazy feel of the track. Presented here as the one, four and five chords in the key of E - that old, familiar 3 Chord Trick of...

You’ll love this one - and at only five minutes long, you’ll want to jam with it again and again. A fast 148 bpm rocking Texas blues, with Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar flavor rhythm parts - open chords on the left speaker and “up the neck” on the right, with a surf rock feel in the bass and in a crunchy splash of texture guitar that pops up in the middle here and there for variation, interest and ...

    Hi. What exactly am I supposed to be doing with this? Do I just strum G, D,Em, C chord? I only have an acoustic guitar

    • @chalkboardjamtracks
      @chalkboardjamtracks 3 місяці тому

      Hi Rachel. I expect most people use these backing tracks to practice their "lead guitar" skills, as in improvising solos etc. However, I believe that an overlooked use is exactly as you suggest - just strumming along with the chords. Rhythm playing is actually what we do most of the time as guitarists, and practicing rhythm playing with good time-keeping etc is very valuable. These backing tracks use very common chord progressions used in many famous songs, so getting used to these chord changes will be very good use of your practice time.

    I liked this one instantly. This one goes in the save file. Three years ago I lost the end of my index finger on my left hand and I thought I would never play again. I have learned to play with 3 fingers and I'm relearning how to play again. Its been hard and I cant do everything I use to but I keep trying. Thanks for the great jam track.

    • @chalkboardjamtracks
      @chalkboardjamtracks 3 місяці тому

      Sorry to hear about your finger - but relearning to play without it is amazing dedication. Glad the track could help in some way.

    • @smartass6071
      @smartass6071 3 місяці тому

      The good part is i already know the cords and scales. Now just learning how to do it differently. If you want to see how hard it is. Try putting a slide on your index finger and play without usine your indexfinger. Its very hard but doable.

    • @chalkboardjamtracks
      @chalkboardjamtracks 3 місяці тому

      Wow, you have my admiration for your persistence - this may be a bit obvious and something you've already thought of, but have you tried re-learning as a left hander? You already have musical skills baked in, you already know the shapes etc, it probably wouldn't take you as long as you'd think to get proficient, although it'd be frustrating at first. Back in the day, I did a lot of one-to-one teaching, and frequently had students who were learning right-handed when they were actually left-handed, as it made getting instruments easier etc. The point being that there's no barrier to doing it either way, whatever you natural "handedness", if that makes sense.

      @@chalkboardjamtracks Thanks and yes I have thought about switching to a lefty or picking up the slide but Im 64 now and I have had my day in the sun, playing in bands and being a sound man for decades. Thanks for the comment. I tend not to do the spoken intros nowadays, but I have kept the count-in. Some of the other backing track channels have an entire piece to camera before the track starts, or a demonstration solo. Others nothing. Each to their own. Hope the track was useful to you anyway, cheers.

      Hi methei, glad you like the videos and thanks for the comment - I think that UA-cam has changed the way you can loop - as you say, if you select loop that just repeats the whole video. But... If you click on the "clip" button with the scissors icon you can set the start and end times and it will repeat just that part as often as you wish.
