Just wanted to make this video for fun! If you enjoyed watching it please let me know by leaving a like, comment, and subscribe!
I can't think of a particular favorite at this time, maybe Somewhere in Time. Either way, I have been collecting physical media for decades. First vinyl in the 60's on up but for movies, it started off with VHS. I only have a few tapes left but what I do have a lot of are Laser Discs and CED discs. My current DVD/Blu-ray collection is growing by leaps and bounds. We got hit by Hurricane Maria and we were off the electrical grid for just over six months. No Internet for four months and Dish Network was down for a few weeks. We had three generators so what we basically did was watch DVD's and in particular the entire boxed set of Battlestar Galactica (2000). Physical media saved us.
You are so good keep going, please.
It will come back soon
You can download movies and save them on your computer
interstellar
what a pretentious rant. And you gen Z people always talking about Shreck 2 dvd menus and how your childhood was sooooo beautiful because of this movie. i´m sick of it. Your room looks kind of snobish, with all the Criterions on top of a $15 dollar plastic shelf and your framed poster of raging bull it screams "look i´m a real cinephile". I bet you started to collect movies like two or three years ago.
Dude i related soo much with Tyler’s character with him being a perfectionist and highly competitive. It was scary to find shocking similarities between his life and mine. At least I didn’t crash out so bad that I accidentally killed a mf
It’s not dead toys r us sells it now
Seen some vloggers buy movies online and go visit movies don’t wanna buy it. That’s insane
Tremendous work
I just watched this film yesterday. I done film studies in college and the cinematography is just amazing, I actually went through a relationship like Tyler and his gf it was so triggering but showed all the characters pov so throughly. Failure is a problem for Tyler he couldn’t handle it
The most nostalgic DVD menu for me is Wall-E, I watched the movie 3 times in a day when sick as a kid and still remember the sound of his goggles shifting around as you idled. Sadly 2/3 of the copies of the movie I have seem to be messed up in some way but the case had a cool design so I kept them. Great video!
subscribed so fast bro the quality to views ratio is insane u deserve way more! i love this movie it feels like it crushes your soul in the first half and then heals you in the second half
i appreciate it! i’ll have more videos up soon!!
Thank you for this ! You are so good at it please continue ❤
Let‘s face it: Online is for losers
sick video bro i’ll be using this for my english project thanks
film analysis is for the youth 🫡
bro did not talk about the snubs
LISAN AL GAIB MENTIONED
i just watched this movie and i’m just surprised how underrated this video is man great analysis
thank u! more to come soon!
in the video youreference some expensive titles. I'll bet my back side that on such occasions you are not just getting a movie and nothing else
Yeah those Criterion’s cost me an arm and a leg and you’d bet I watched all of the extras so i knew i was getting my moneys worth 😅
I saw this film in theaters when it released. The scene with the father and daughter by the lake was so powerful. It got a little dusty as you could see that he tried to be the father he thought he needed for his son but felt like he failed. This film is so underrated.
Great analysis of a film that's frankly an under-appreciated masterpiece.
thank you!!
this movie helped me heal. I gotta watch it again, but I can only stomach Emily's half haha. also great editing!
thank you! i hope more people can come to appreciate this movie!
i was deadass shocked when i saw how much views this has
slow motion is better than no motion 💯
i'll never give up on buying physical media - I'd give up streaming tomorrow to be honest. I always had a soft spot for Broadcast News and was delighted when I was finally able to import the Criterion bluray and get to see a whole scene that had been cut - it was a relevation knowing this had actually been shot albeit never used.
good video man
Never seen this movie, but you did an excellent job of breaking it down and made me want to check it out, loved this video!
thank you! id love to hear your thoughts on the movie!
This was, in my opinion, the best film of 2019, which was a great year in films. I went to see it on a weekday at an AMC near me. It was only showing that one night. I was familiar with Edwards-Schultz previous film, "It Comes At Night," which I really enjoyed. Going into this film I only saw the trailer and didn't know what it was about. I remember there were only like 4 people in that theater and 1 of them actually walked out. I just remembered being in complete awe. Left me thinking about the film for weeks.
the best movies are the ones that stick with us long after we see it! have u seen krisha by him? i haven’t yet
@@JadenAndrada Yeah I've seen Krisha. Its a solid debut
Just wondering do I remember what part he walked out at. I didn’t have high expectations for this movie I just randomly watched it on Netflix and it was GREAT. The characters are so relatable it makes you feel like the things happening to the characters could happen to you.
@@Raisin185 It was after the party scene, I think it was in the courtroom scene. Yeah "Waves" was my favorite film of 2019.
One of the best movies I've seen. Truly epic. My favorite scene, the Fremen Reverend Mother passing torch to Jessica. That woman is perfectly cast as the reverend mother and her costume is perfect. Second favorite, the eclipse in the desert at the beginning: Denis likes to start with a bang. Third, the coliseum scene in which the black robed gladiator 'assistants' try to help Feyd. All three mind blowing.
Solid video!!! We should collab 👀
trilogy?
Good movie! Solid breakdown 👌🏿
Appreciate it, thank you for showing love 🫂
I pray you were mispronouncing Cillian ironically
i was completely totally definitely positively being ironic. sorry ki-lee-uhn
"so i just watched dune part 2 last night..." "I'm about to go watch dune part 2 right now..."
1. The Holdovers 2. Anatomy of the fall 3. Past lives 4. Oppenheimer 5. Poor things 6. Barbie 7. Killer of the flower moon 8. Zone of Interest 9. American fiction 10. Maestro
LILY GLADSTONE WAS ROBBED!
In my town I can get DVDs for $1 - $2. Some places are like buy 8 DVDs or BRs get 3 free.
Awesome video man. I started buying DVDs and BR again.
what’re some of your favorite pickups so far?
1. Oppenheimer 2. Killers of the flower moon 3. The holdovers 4. Anatomy of a fall 5. Barbie 6. American fiction 7. Past lives 8. Maestro 9. The zone of interest 10. Poor things
I had a lot of fun editing this, Would you guys like to see more? If so, what movie?
Reservoir dogs
Need a boogie night edit
Just got back from second viewing at the cinema, it's breathtaking. Best cinematic experience ever!! The score compliments the screenplay perfectly. for me, 10/10 👍
my best theater experience since endgame tbh
Absolutely loved both Dune 1 and 2 - but I think I loved the second one even more. I thought the world building, set designs (a lot of it was probably done with that huge LED background, which is an amazing tool), costuming, writing, acting, directing - everything. Just amazing. I want to go see it again - this coming week.
1. Poor things 2. Anatomy of a Fall 3. Past lives 4.American fiction 5. Barbie 6. Oppenheimer 7. The holdovers 8. Killers of flower moon 9. Maestro 10. Zone of Interest I thought all the movies were good to great this year no bad ones
I find it interesting how I've heard a lot of people who complain about Margot wasn't nominated for best actress never talks about her performance. Her acting was more than fine, but her part didn't allow for the most showy performance, and that was for the better in the context of the film. She was also, in fact, nominated as producer. Who would you swap out of the best actress nominees?
u make some great points, i think she deserved a nomination strictly for BEING the movie. similar to Bradley Cooper being nominated for producer and actor in Maestro, but i do see how Margot’s acting in this doesn’t actually scream “best performance”. But then again, neither does Cooper’s hahah. And i would have to say I’d swap out Carey Mulligan 😅 only because i haven’t seen Nyad.
Sorry but Poor Things is a trash movie.
:0 what about it didn’t you enjoy?
@JadenAndrada It's a story about a grown woman with a child's mind who becomes a sex addict then whore and supposedly finds enlightenment via screwing deviant men. IMO glossy sensationalistic trash trying to be art house.
@@JadenAndradaPoor things is a good example of a well made movie with terrible messaging
really? i thought it was great
1. Past Lives 2. The Holdovers 3. Anatomy of a Fall 4. The Zone of Interest 5. Killers of the Flower Moon 6. Oppenheimer 7. Poor Things 8. American Fiction 9. Maestro 10. Barbie
Yet another action movie with highschool-level anthropology mixed in.
yeah but did you see the sand worm??!!!
@@JadenAndrada Haha. Yea love the worm, it is f-n awesome.
Past Lives The Zone Of Interest Poor Things Killers Of The Flower Moon Anatomy Of A Fall Barbie Oppenheimer American Fiction Maestro (For me)
which is 1 and which is 10? 😂
@@JadenAndrada Do you think it could be Maestro 1?
It has been a while since I talked about movies, Avartar 2 was great, felt it and that was it. There was some good movies which I don't even remember now, but Dune 2 will be that movie in my life which I will be talking about for quiet a while. Like I did with The Terminator, The Lord of The Rings. I am so glad I gave movies a chance again.
anatomy of a fall at 9 is insane bro 💀💀
where would you put it?
@@JadenAndrada it would probably be in my top 3 competing with the holdovers and past lives... i get what you dont like about it tho
Yeah, critical thinking is dead, you are easily distracted by shinny lights. How a story so barren of world building, context and substance would leave you speechless? Let not speak of the stupid mistakes that they made, it seems that the people behind Villanue Dune never read the books or watched previous adaptations, this movies are a barren wasteland, with crumbs of world building, this adaptation is a wasteland, like the Star Wars Sequels.
