Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Coastal Cottage (no edit)
Micro build. Seriously, can you do anything else with that place? Figured it could work as a rent offer. You know, maybe a raider veteran is looking for his own little place away from downtown Boston or Nuka World. Somewhere a bit quieter but still with a bit of excitement every once in a while.
No music, no editing, like with Nordhagen. The video is a few months old, I just never got around doing something with it. So, here it is. Added a short night tour at the end. Enjoy ...

Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Nordhagen Beach (no edit)

Simple build, lore-friendly (kinda) and overall nothing special. I found a few builds like that on my harddrive lately. Stuff I liked building but didn't particularly want to make a cool video about. Still, why let it rot on my computer, right? So no music, no editing. Just a little settlement tour. Vanilla game incl. DLCs, no mods other than Place Anywhere, you know, the usual.
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - County Crossing

Probably one of the more boring building sites in the game but at least it's an easy one. I had a bit of a problem finding a theme for this but eventually I went with a sort of refuge for settlers from all over the Commonwealth (and one from a bit further away) who brought their culture and religion with them but most importantly left their sometimes violent pasts behind. As always this is the ...
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Murkwater Construction Site

I never liked Murkwater tbh. Never had a clue what to build there and I hate ruined buildings that you can't scrap without mods so there's that. And it's a damn shame, too, because I usually like building near or on water. While playing Far Harbor again last week I finally came up with an idea for Murkwater and just started building. Wasn't much fun but it came together alright. So the idea is ...
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Outpost Zimonja

Okay, this is it: Outpost Zimonja completed. I said it once, I'm gonna say it again. I love this place! I really don't get why so many people don't like building there. The only mildly annoying thing about it is the bushes sprouting anywhere you don't want them. But that's okay, I just build sheds over them. And that gets me space to hide my generators! I call that a win. Anyway, I had fun doin...
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Kingsport Lighthouse

I love building at Kingsport and tbh I always went kinda crazy with that place in the past. I remember in my first playthrough I built some sort of big skyscraper thing there - ah good times. But with my fourth playthrough I wanted to take a more realistic approach. The Children of Atom have moved into the lighthouse and very recently so. So they have begun to turn the place into something that...
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Croup Manor

This turned out to be less of a build and more of a decoration job. I didn't put up any buildings (except for the ticket shack) and concentrated more on repairing the house and making it look inhabitable. As for a theme I went for an old museum that got taken over by settlers. Out of respect for the Minutemen they kept the "exhibition" on the ground floor and took up quarters on the second and ...
Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Tenpines Bluff
Переглядів 2493 роки тому
My very first Fallout 4 Settlement Build video! I don't claim to be good at all this building stuff but I'm really having fun with adding my own ideas to the world of Fallout 4. That said: Tenpines Bluff is no fun. Not a single flat surface to build on, ruined houses and lots of items (beds!) you can't scrap. I started out with the intention of not using mods to build my settlements but TB made...

at 8:37 there is a brahmin pen with an orange tarp-like cover. Could you tell me where that came from? I can't seem to find it in my workshop anywhere.
The only tarp-like thing I used is the caravan post but that is around the corner from where the brahmin is. That what you mean?
@@fletchercallaghan it must be. There was a bathtub/feed trough nearby, so I thought it was part of the pen
Must be then. I don’t use building objects from mods, at least I haven’t in any of my videos. But believe me I wish we would have more options for tents and tarps and such like. The Raider stuff is pretty limited.@@kindrawalker3057
@@fletchercallaghan so what is the tarp thingie? I know about the raider stuff, but it looks nothing like that. Where can I find it in the workshop?
@@kindrawalker3057 That's a caravan post. You can get it in the resource menu once you have completed a mission in Bunker Hill. I think it's the one Kessler gives you, where you have to save some caravan folk from raiders ... ? After that you can build that post in all of your settlements to attract more traders.
'Bulkhead!!! I NEEDED THAT!
What you hate about this settlement? You did an awesome job with it. My Tenpines, a mod did most of the heavy lifting as far as structure. I made the watchtower as home-y as a watchtower can be though.
More great work 😊. Your outpost is more like a town, lively and little vibrant. Like settlers say, "Have you seen that town north of Tenpines, by the radio tower? It's called Outpost Zimonja, super chill." Mine was made into a Brotherhood Outpost... and though there are shops and services, my Zimonja still feels like an ...outpost... like some place each Initiate or Scribe, just wants to do their 6 months and get out. Covenant? The Knight, Michael and his squad want to stay there, and they renew.
Thank you, yes, that's what I was going for. A place where everyone's super-chill.
Excellent build 😊!
Thanks!
Extremely creative, and really well done!
Thank you 😘
“careful this warehouse is Murkywater”
Tbh so‘s the general store. And the hairdresser . Heck, even the Brahmin‘s kinda murky in this place … 😅😅🤣
lol fr but it was a payday 2 joke lol
1:08 Nice use of that backwards desk. 2:13 I don't know that I've seen anybody else do that with the grille. I like the rickety mix of overlapping floor and walkway pieces and your junk decor turned out well too. 👍
Thanks! I always try to include some detail where I combine decoration with furniture or other stuff to turn it into something new. Sometimes it works, sometimes not really, but it's always nice when someone spotted it.
Nordhagen is one of those sites that I just don't know where to begin building. So I have nothing but admiration for builders such ass yourself who pull off builds as wonderfully detailed and thought out as this one! Well done!
Thank you for your kind words. I don't like spacious settlements; I tend to build big there and somewhat overdo it all. That's why I tried to keep it small this time and focus more on the decoration and make it look like a place an actual settler wants to live in.
Another fantastically creative build!
That is a terrific build! I love the attention to detail, like the bucket under the tap of the Water Purifier. Why have I never thought of that... Looking forward to seeing more of your builds. Oh and a new subscriber here.
OMG thank you! Currently working on Taffington Boathouse but you will have to be patient with me; I won't be posting that anytime soon. Settlers work against me and all that ...
@@fletchercallaghan I fully understand. I am having no end of troubles with settlers moving in while I am still trying to get the foundations of my Murkwater up and running... With results as good as I have seen in the above video I am one who is more than happy to wait.
That’s really cool that you use the plastic bins crates, and barriers for decoration! I know sometimes they can be tedious to bring back to a location
There's a lot of cool stuff lying around fairly close to Coastal Cottage so it wasn't so bad to drag it all over there. And it gave the place an even trashier look. Thanks for watching 😘
@@fletchercallaghan Btw I run a vanilla style building discord server (linked in my about page) and if you'd like to join to get inspiration and post builds you are welcome to! no sweat if you don't though
@@orangesqueasy Thanks, I'll check it out. I could use some inspiration.
That's a player home not a settlement
True. Though my character wouldn’t wanna live there, that’s why it’s for rent 😉
@@fletchercallaghan This the best take on Coastal Cottage yet. For Rent 10 caps a ...week?! No takers? 🤣 Very well done and detailed.
@@FuriousMaximum There's a Mirelurk Queen living round the corner so I might have to drop the rent to 5 caps a weekend. Thanks, I had fun with this.👍
Nice and cozy !
Thanks 😊
Although simple I like it, gives off the feeling of a recently founded settlement. I am guessing you are not planning on expanding this and although it does work as it is, it would still be cool to see what this little settlement could grow into 😀.
I used to build big at Nordhagen and then got frustrated when the settlers there didn’t do what I told them to. Also I always had pathing issues there for some reason. Damn NPCs tried to walk through walls and couldn’t use upper floor rooms etc. So this time I kept it simple. I don’t think that I still have this particular game save file anymore so no expansion possible I’m afraid; this settlement stays as it is. I’m still working on my Raider Vault, that’s probably gonna be a little bit more interesting to look at 😅
Cool micro build! I like how much detail you have been able to pack into such a small space, gives it that nice lived in feeling. Would make an ideal home for a lone scavenger, with space to store and repair items they find before travelling to and selling them on at larger settlements. Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Thanks for the kind words. I got quite frustrated with trying to build something bigger there but had real fun when I limited myself to a smaller area.
Had to sub. Great build and, excellent editing at the start.
Thank you so much 😊
Sorry, didn't want to spam you out but damn, this build is great. Love how it all comes together as a cool, collective settlement. And that bar building at the back end, freakin' love it. That one piece sold me, lol. And yeah, that ruined house, fantastic build-over on that! Great work and great lore to the place.
You are saying the kindest things, how can this be spam? :) Thank you for watching my silly videos, I appreciate it!
@@fletchercallaghan And thank you for putting them out :) As for the first, I had another builder sound a lil' pissy with me for commenting on like 3 vid's in a day. They were cool though so what the heck. I tried to tone it down after that though. Anyway, thank you for your own kindness. And the inspirations.
I feel your pain with TP. Out of at least 100 playthroughs I think I've had maybe 10 builds there that I've liked. Usually, I build it then never go back unless the game needs me to. That said, I actually really like what you did here with it. What stands out is what you did over and around their main shack home. The vendors, the bar, the backend flat area out from the workbench, that is all really cool. And yeah, Fiddleflapps is awesome! Watching his work is how I learned to really use the Place Anywhere mod.
Thanks! I may return here for a micro build as I have a few ideas for that but I'll stick to my original sentiment: I hate this settlement! And I must admit that most of my building ideas for this video came from other people's vids. Bits here and there, especially the area around the workbench. So, will we see any building videos from you in the foreseeable future? I'm always keen on seeing what other people do with their settlements.
@@fletchercallaghan I hear ya, I get inspiration from others' builds as well and try to fine-tune it on the fly, lol. And funny enough, yeah, I've a whole themed series of walk-throughs I'm working on. Got all the base game settlements built up on a common theme of head lore. Except for some fine tuning they're all done so really it's down to recording and then putting the vid.s together. That part's new to me though so will probably take the most time.
Even the simple builds can be a challenge to get right. Good job here and great lore for it. As for the bodies, I've found that with Scrap Everything, any bodies that were placed by the dev's in the scene and not ones that you shot, you can scrap them and they don't respawn in place. The primary place I do that for example is the Co-op. You can move the ghoul bodies out but they respawn within a day or two, scrapping them, they've never come back on a build, or at least I've never had them respawn. Anyways, great work, nice feel for the place.
Thanks for your kind words. I have tried Scrap Everything some time ago and yes, it works. But I decided that I want to go mod-free for this and future builds. Well, as mod-free as you can. I can't really build without at least using Placy Anwhere, so I limited myself to that. Frustrating sometimes but, eh, I just steer clear of settlements with large ghoul populations :)
Really sweet build. A close, lived-in look but with enough of an open feel to not seem claustrophobic. I like the style choices on the buildings, a subtle mix of pieces that gives some character to the design. Great work on this.
Thanks, I'm happy you liked it. It sometimes surprises me that people still watch FO4 building vids. Currently working on a micro-build at Coastal Cottage but constantly getting sidetracked by Cyberpunk 2077 ...
I love the lore behind the build.
Thanks for the sub!
Excellent work, and easily my new favourite build of yours! Really like the themed buildings for the different factions that have settled here, really adds some much-needed character to this normally boring flat rectangle of build space. Also, awesome job on the decoration and love the attention to little details such as the baseball bat hiding behind the bartender’s counter. I think it would be a shame if you stop doing your intros as I really enjoy them. They are not in your face or over the top and just the right length (and often very humorous!). In the case of this build it perfectly setup the backstory and theme of the settlement, and feel it really adds to the video. Your video editing skills are far superior to mine so hope you reconsider. Finally I don’t know much about Lovecraft but spotted a few references, so guessing the church founder is from Innsmouth? Really enjoyed the tour, keep up the awesome work! 😁👍
Okay now you’re making me blush … Thank you for watching and noticing the small details. I love building and find decorating mostly tedious and time-consuming but it’s great when everything comes together nicely. As for the editing: that stuff takes almost as long as building the settlement and then there’s music to choose and what not. I enjoy telling a little story with my builds but I feel that it’s not really worth the effort. Also my video editing software kinda sucks so it’s just not fun anymore. But we’ll see. And of course you’re right. The general store is run by a woman from Innsmouth and she built a church to honor the Great Dagon. I thought it would be a nice fit since the Commonwealth and „Lovecraft Country“ are both in Massachusetts.
Fantastic job on transforming this horrible place into an actual liveable settlement! Really love all the twists and turns and changes of elevation of the structures, and how you have made use of the ruin which has ended many of my attempts to build here in frustration. Also appreciated the attention to detail with your decorations, and of course your intros are always awesome. Really enjoyed the tour, keep up the amazing work. 👍😁
Thank you for always finding these kind words for my attempts at F4 settlement builds. You make me want to keep at it.
Nice build
Thank you 😘
Very nice. I liked your video
Thank you 😚
Great to see the finished tour and really loved the intro. Really like the attention to detail you have put into the furnishing and decorating, really finishes the place off! Really enjoyed the tour - keep up the great work 😁
Thank you very much, I had fun completing this. Currently I'm trying to build at Murkwater ... it's not going well.
@@fletchercallaghan I wish you luck with Murkwater! Things not going well is pretty much par for the course with that place, sure you’ll manage to work something out. 🤞😉
I also build here i removed the ghouls tho by walking them to my next settlement. You have tru skill. Croup was my first build i called the gateway to being a pro. I love your Croup manor but i can't unsee my Croup its more like Croup Mega Mansion plz view my Croup we can learn from each other
I tried that but they kept returning, the silly little buggers. So I found a way to work around them. Thanks for commenting, this means a lot. I will check out your mega mansion soon.
One of my favorite settlements for sure, and I like what you've done with it. I really liked that 4:55 area, that's so clever, might steal your idea :p loved the edits too 👍
Thanks for your kind words. And feel free to steal anything you like. :D
Very nice build and loved your intro and outro! A nice clean build that really captures the realistic look you were after and has the feeling of a place that’s being worked on and in the process of being expanded. Really liked your additions to the docks and the boat (I never know what to do with that), and really enjoyed the tour. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing 😎 👍
Thank you so much, you are too kind. I had originally built something a lot larger on that boat but it didn't quite fit in with the rest of the settlement. So I reduced it to that little shack and I think that works a lot better.
A fun and entertaining tour and a great way to make use of the manor’s past (and in Rupert’s case) semi living residents. Great job on repairing the main structure and loved the attention to detail with the decorations - really gives the place a lived in feeling. Many thanks for sharing, and hope you continue the great work 😁
Thank you so much for these nice words. Really encouraging!
nice repair job
