Utilizing Team Associated, Losi, Kyosho, Tamiya, HPI, Yokomo and many other well know brands designed for Off-Road racing.
About Vintage R/C Racing
Like most we started this hobby in the early 80’s when race tracks did not exist or were located to far away, and not widely available as today. We started in the Foreign Stock class with Tamiya and Kyosho until the arrival of the Team Associated RC10 which changed R/C racing into a more serious competitive hobby. Now fast forward 30 years and we now have our own track to relive those challenging races again.
Utilizing Team Associated, Losi, Kyosho, Tamiya, HPI, Yokomo and many other well know brands designed for Off-Road racing.

Vintage R/C - 1983 Kyosho Racing Baja - Pre-Season Testing

Röthbauer GmbH with some practice video testing his original 1983 Kyosho 1/8th Nitro buggy [Circuit 20 Extra Nr. 3045]. Took over a year to track down all the required parts arriving from all over the globe to bring this 40 year old vintage nitro back to life!

Nice engine. While much less powerful than today's 21-sized engines, the Enya 21X and 21CX are super reliable and easy on the gear boxes.
1:18 The OPS engine will destroy the die cast bevel gears in 10 min at full throttle...Enya 21 CX or OS 21SE are easier on gear boxes.
I always wondered why they bothered with all those die cast bits when, even at the time, there were plenty of plastics around that would've proven infinitely more resilient. Those die cast pieces broke so easily.

80's 1/8 scale nitro were on a new venture above the 1/10 scale eclectic not realizing how far it would go. Now look at how advanced the Kyosho MP10 is!
Hello, what can I take to clean my engines? I've tried a lot of things, but unfortunately the aluminum has turned dark. I would be happy to receive an answer.
If the cast aluminum motor has been isolated for years most likely the additives from the previous fuel have attacked the alloy leaving darken areas that have penetrated thru the alloy casing, there are a few options to remove some of the discoloration. What I have been using with acceptable result is Berryman 0996 Chem-Dip Carburetor Parts Cleaner within a ultrasonic cleaner at 50 Celsius (120 Fahrenheit) for about 30 to 45 minutes and then I rinse with hot water & soap (Dawn) and then freshwater rinse then let air dry. The hotter the air dry the better to extract any chemicals residue from the Chem-Dip to prevent any further additional discoloration.

Nice. I had a Kyosho Datsun Stepside as my first nitro. Love the Advance 1000 chassis nitros also.
We all wanted Nitro so badly in the 80's.... as our battery RC cars only last 5 minutes! 😆
