Neither doug or reb were on the level of Sykes for whitesnake but Doug is still close to what Sykes did so I would choose him since they weren’t able to get Sykes. Reb definitely has his own recognizable style and I love his playing

I was just having a converstion tonight about this album, usually I don't like live albums as much as the studio recordings, this is the exception. This live album was better than any studio album, Randy's soul came though on this, I'm also a guitarist and he's been a huge influence.

He's a great drummer... But he's not a hippie communist, Neil Young lover like Vedder is. That's the reason.

Music history proves that all bands go through a "Moment of Truth", when the worst of everyone surfaces, and the band might end. Because of a broad range of reasons, some survive while others end. If they survive, it's likely the band will last for years to come (like Pearl Jam). But the True Story in this story, is that the business side of music is what truly "kills" some people, and it seemed that Ben was the first to "die". Of course our good Wood won't say it, because He Is "The Industry", so to speak. But that's the truth in this story, and many others: When Music becomes " A Job", some end walking away "The Job" as many of us have done before, when the job is no longer of our liking 🚬

Whatever happened to “what goes on tour stays on tour”.? This is horrific! Personally I’ve never discussed any on tour incidents with anyone bar the people who were present at the time. Many artists struggle for a plethora of reasons and frankly it’s no one else’s business. The SG boys are good people, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Ben was unstable the whole tour of 96-97. Saw them live in Munich in 96, someone snuck in a(n) (analog) camera and took pictures. Ben freaked out (Kim offered him a cigarette, he refused) playing half the show sulking on the bass cabinet with his back towards the audience. Oh and he broke a GLASS!!! water bottle on stage too. What a prick.
