Mountains and Deserts
Germany
Приєднався 28 гру 2007
Based in Nuremberg, Germany I have been exploring some of North America's as well as Scandinavia's most remote outdoor destinations for several years now. And I continue to visit and explore these regions on a regular basis, looking for new challenges and adventures each time I return in order to push myself to new limits!
That's what I am all about - a solo traveler and outdoor enthusiast I thrive exploring and appreciating some of the last frontiers of human civilization, capturing the essence and sharing the beauty of those natural wonders that surround us: our world's Mountains and Deserts! Two extremes shaped by the relentless forces of nature, and the last refuges for true wilderness and solitude.
As Edward Abbey has put it: "The towering mountains, the silent desert - what do they have in common? Grandeur, color, spaciousness, the power of the ancient and elemental, that which lies beyond the ability of man to wholly grasp or utilize."

Cool in Phoenix and Tucson? You've got to be kidding...
@@portalminer8813 alright alright. Didn't mean to offend anyone with my work. What I mean is "comparably" --> mean daily maximum per year in tucson and phoenix averages at around 28-30 degrees celcius while for instance brawley averages at around 33 degrees. Also during winter I felt the weather in SoCal was warmer and drier than in and around Tucson. Might be interesting for those who are planning to visit - that's who I am looking to help with my personal observations. But all that being said, yes you are right: phoenix and tucson are very hot
Fantastic video. I'm glad you enjoyed signal hill. I lived in Picture Rocks (the small town near by) as a kid. We went to signal hill regularly for picnics, solstices, and special occasions. I love the Sonoran desert deeply and i think you did a wonderful job of conveying its mystical beauty.
@@ANTIK1OAS thanks for your feedback! Mystical beauty sums it up perfectly - that must have been an amazing place to grow up!
Great video! Will be minutes from SNP West next week for 3 months. Looking forward to many desert hikes.
@@wjb111 thanks! Yeah, its amazing out there. Have fun! 👏👏👏
If you're a carnivore, I highly recommend the carne seca at El charo cafe. It's the only place in the US that can sun dry it and it is amazing. Also, if a whiskey fan, the Del Bac Dorado is a treat of an American single malt.
Gorgeous landscape. What a great adventure.
@@anthonyrenaud5783 thanks! glad you enjoyed it
Looks like a grand adventure! The White Rim Road has been on my list for years. Canyonlands is a favorite of mine, especially The Needles. Now I just need a vehicle that can tackle The Maze and the White Rim. Thanks for taking me along digitally.
@@AdventuresWithSpencer thanks for your feedback! Yeah it's just spectacular out there. Good luck with your travel plans! If you plan on heading out to the Maze all by yourself I'd recommend to bring some sattelite communication device / beacon just in case.
