    It's interesting that someone as young as her is even interested in the blues. I'm sure I'm twice her age and grew up in the American south, and never listened to Blues music. U.S. Armed Forces have a code to "Leave no injured or killed comrade in arms behind on a field of battle." Yet on North American streets across the lower 48 states and the vast Canadian provinces? We've normalized homelessness and feel it strange to do anything but pole vault over the increasing human carnage on our streets, our public spaces brought low not by foreign military forces invading, rather by our own worship of Cold War weaponized and de-regulated while privatized Market Forces and our Cold War Czar of Weaponized E-CON propaganda: Milton Friedman. A small minded man with a golden self-serving tongue who got major college campuses even from the Abrahamic religions to welcome his message of GREED IS GOOD and his Washington-underwritten speaking tours that preach a national need to SHRINK BIG GOVERNMENT (just like Banana Republic and the most impoverished Third World nation-states have thanks to feudal levels of Saudi Royal family corruption and kleptocracy)..... I guess all of the comments on our Global Housing Crisis have migrated to study groups that will break up the group think around Housing First Programs, the real taboo as they threaten the Scarcity Principle driving so-called Free Housing Markets (and the privatization of other human necessities like clean water, sewer, power and externalized True Costs of pollution and institutional corruption). Whether Blackstone LLP's bid-net model or a working class couple of heroes who paid off their increasingly rare 30 year mortgage on factory & warehouse jobs so they own a 2-family house in a modest blue collar neighborhood with mass transit, each type of "homeowner" sees their own personal value in maintaining the SCARCITY (aka SCARE CITY) PRINCIPLE of Housing Markets that have spiraled cost of housing way beyond the 50 years of concurrent Wage Stag-Nation quantified in all different sorts of nation-states.... It isn't even politics that makes a documentary film like PUSH so dangerous. It is the human condition that when not prettied up or gentrified shows life to be a Food Chain where only the "fittest" survive, read "self-serving" survive and so the Private Interests have to be privileged in policy-making over the Public Interest. My generation had the bad luck to live a post WW II time before the PermaWar E-CON-O-MY was ushered in and we got spoiled on the Cold War dynamic of rival ideologies of Capitalism v. Communism needing to win hearts and minds and show that their system wouldn't leave any homeless people left to survive on ever meaner streets. Bad optics made for losing the weaponization of Cold War subsidized low-income Public housing (not hellish inner city crime-ridden high rise Projects but the suburban White Flight low-income Levittown tract housing that Donald Trump's father got rich building as a contractor to the corrupt Empire State liberal Democratic party machine) and the basic human minimum wage that rather than driving a legalized drug culture would actually provide the stable sense of security to arouse ambition even in those damaged souls from deprived childhoods of neglect or abuse. Search here on U. of Tube for all the TedTalks short presentations by a wide ethnic variety of people from around the world where Housing First programs have been tried and have helped resolve the complex Global Housing Crisis whose causes are well explained in this terrific documentary film PUSH from Swedish Public Interest TV that we in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave are too frightened to ever leave our broadcast spectrum with one tiny sliver that operates in the Public Interest and is insulated from corporate capture and Market Forces. The U.S. Empire has been brought low by an inability to deal with rampant institutional corruption and Market Forces that when left unregulated are more destructive to the host nation-states than any Islamist or Commie militant force. Even more destructive as we see than biologically weaponized Public Illth which is the opposite of Public Health and Public Wealth via investing in our Social Capital. endhomelessness.org/resource/housing-first/ ua-cam.com/video/kbEavDqA8iE/v-deo.html (Finland as a model and Portland, Maine's PREBLE HOUSE housing first program instituted during the Great Depression and nearly taboo in U.S. media coverage..... Suffering in Lands of Plenty under the rule of Unregulated Market Forces and the easy to spread fear of the Scarcity Principle or SCARE CITY PRINCIPLE and the Private Profit Hamster Wheels "managed" by our Lords of Capital Access.....) www.preblestreet.org/2023/01/04/housing-first-a-solution-to-homelessness/ Mitch Ritter\Paradigm Sifters, Code Shifters, PsalmSong Chasers Lay-Low Studios, Ore-Wa (Refuge of Atonement Seekers) Media Discussion List\Looksee

      @TiktaksView 2 роки тому

      Thanks for your comment. Safety gear?... Just a Mace full-faced helmet, Race Face Shin guards and elbows (they're quite nice!), and protective riding gloves. You can bike up the mountain from where I parked - one section is quite steep and I have to walk for a bit (as I'm older - but I've seen younger fit riders ride all the way). There's lots of switchbacks as it gets steeper. There's another parking area off Richard's Ave, (check on Trailforks.com), where it looks like you can ride up primarily on Forest Service Roads, then ride down the trails. Hope this helps.
