Fixing up the original condition Oliver 1655 and putting it straight to work
Переглядів 488Рік тому
Fixed a bunch of wiring. replaced alternator, starter, sending unit, injection pump, injectors, seat, return line assemblies along with a bunch of other odd and ends. Full service front to back. all original paint minus grill and weights. Put straight back in the field afterwards to fit a new seeding of hay in. Even got my son out to run the tractor a bit. Beautiful crop this year. Almost 48" tall the whole way. Green top to bottom. This field yielded 139 50lb square bales to the acre. Not bad at all.

Block was bored and sleeved. New crankshaft. New camshaft. New rods. New pistons. New bearings. head redone. lots of time invested. Tractor hasn't run since 2011. All functions were verified once running and still work great. I bought this tractor last fall with a blown engine. now to get it into the field and break the engine in. Discing down the newly plowed hay field spring 2020. Massey 5445 and Oliver 252 disc

discing down the new to us hay field. I had the disc set aggressive and to mound dirt in the center these first passes to fill a few dead furrows and really rearrange the dirt in the field. this was a 20 plus year field of corn and beans. it had many low areas and ridges. takes a lot to smooth out for hay.

Took the 1550 utility out to plant a new hay field. Used my oliver 1655 to pull my brillion cultimulcher to prep seed bed and then to pack seed in once drilled. Thanks for watching and enjoy! I added no music so you hear it as i heard it.

    What did you set the injection pump timing at?

      Can't remember off hand. It was set to what the ford service manual called for. The injectors hadn't fired for 10 years when this engine started here. It had been sitting for quite some time. I ended up having the injectors redone not too long after this video was done.

      Guy in the tractor put in his time stacking wagons over the years. His Dad used to drive the tractor when he stacked. We're 4th generation farmers.

    Grabbing the bales too soon from the shoot, let the power of the bailer work the bales to you

    There's an art to stacking a wagon properly! I made awesome money one summer baling hay...got two cents a bale!... Lol

      There is. We run 9x20 wagons and prefer what we call a 6 stack. 6 horizontal bottom row. Then 2 long ways on outside of new row with 4 horizontal on inside. Then repeat. Holds tight on wagon.

      Me too. 1500 bales per day, 6 days a week custom baling. 60 years ago. I was 15. Only person on the wagon. Loved it.

    You haven’t heard of a NH 1033 or 1034 bale wagon. The price you payed for that wagon you could of bought a good bale wagon. And don’t touch a bale. Just my thoughts.

      Our b as runs aren't tall enough to flip and stack into with those wagons. We deliver all hay straight from fields to customers. We dont store any in our own barns. This works for us but those wagons are nice though for their purposes. We have 6 of these wagons. Yes, they are expensive. But they work best for us.

    😱 Oh, look at the moisture on the tires... I'm afraid, it was still too wet to become Hay!

    • @michiganfarmer5208
      @michiganfarmer5208 4 роки тому

      Actually the hay was perfect sitting up on the stubble. This is common in south west Michigan with our clay soil and high humidity. Is it ideal? No. But summer of 2019 was one of the wettest ever. And summer of 2020 is turning out to be one of the driest...

      @@michiganfarmer5208 ok, nice to know the hay of 2019 was perfect 👍🏼 The hay-summer 2020 here in Germany is very dry either way, too. Take care !!
