Meanwhile Back on the Hobby Farm
United States
Приєднався 28 лип 2019
Welcome to our little piece of Heaven. We are a micro hobby farm (under two acres) located in the middle of no where in West Michigan.
We started off with a hand full of dogs five years ago and have expanded to horses, goats, chickens (plenty of chickens), ducks, a barn cat, a very protective rooster and yes dogs.
We have raised garden beds and a road side produce stand. We pride ourselves in the new trend of up-cycling. You would be surprised what we can turn an unwanted item into. We have our own pub called the Pallet Pub.
Grab a cup of coffee, kick your shoes off and relax while watching what we may share next.
Visit often and leave the main stream media non-sense outside our door.

Personally I'd keep it open as this would be like not having one which you really shouldn't have one.
So whoever set up the fisher at my friends house put a flue? Is that like the dampening plate? Should I keep it open all the time then since they don’t recommend it?
Your welcome
Ty
I had the same problem and I had a DC power supply with adjustable voltage control. Set the voltage 20V, plugged the same way for a second, voila! Looks like the protection circuit needs some poking 😅 I thins next step is checking the cell balance. 😮
Ty!
Did you use oxygen absorbers in any of that?
@@annettenepple449 No
Thanks!
❤❤❤❤
#### YOU CAN USE THAT ALCOHOL FOR TINCTURE HERBAL MEDICINE 💊 #####
Like Jumping your truck battery.
Gde se moze naći zatvarač neshvatam dal je za vakumiranje ili zatvaranje poklopca strašno mi se svidja. Pozdrav
A misnomer title! Vacuum-sealing dry goods is the correct title.
а перевести слабо??

nice setup hope you sell everything
Read so many reviews on this that complained about it not working after a while😮
Can you explain please? Thanks
And here we are the next morning and it's 36° with a windchill of 30°

Against What are you spraying?
For this winter method I was only using vinegar and water.
Ive never done any dry canning. Looks like ai should start
papaya fruit @ 3:30 seconds.
Ive learned a ton from Lonny and his wife- they know their territory! With a little guidance and time ive managed to build my own foodforest. Lonny is a standup guy!
Very nice folks they know their stuff

I love your fireplace area!!!! Perfect! And the way you build your fire is awesome. Where do you buy your wood? There is VERY little Oak to cut in our forests in Northern NM. Where are you? I need one of those wood transporters. Very nice video. Thanks
My brother in-law works in a heavy metal warehouse in which he gets these 2x3 heat treated logs and sells them to me at a great price. Most paper mills use these also for their rolls of paper. I picked up the cast iron frame and leather wood transporter up last year at a Salvation Army store. I think I paid $12 for it.
Bummer I won't be able to find the logs.. Great price on the wood carrier. Is that a Grandma Fisher stove?
Great setup, the fuel regimen is interesting
Thanks
👍🏻
I ran into the host today and was told the first cat that I came across while video recording this is 19 years old.
I bought this thing on Amazon but it stopped working after few use.
Sometimes the expense ones are not always the most durable ones.
hi from pa
Top of the morning to you from West Michigan
Problem fixed. Soaking the ground around the ground rods solved it.

Im in Uk and cant get jars like urs can I use screw top jars??
I think those are screw-top lid jars
I’m in uk and get jars from Amazon if you log into us site they are cheaper, plus I got a pressure canner there cheaper than I’m site
I love hearing you talk, you voice sounds like my Uncle Louis! Ha ha, my honey-do-list is never ending too! ❤ Hugs to you and your wife from Wisconsin
Thanks. Between my Boston accent and caller ID I can't make prank phone calls out here in West Michigan.
@@meanwhilebackonthehobbyfarm 🤣 That's awesome! Neither could Uncle Lou!!!
It doesnt look like the goats want any of that water. 😂
Goats don't like water and can actually get hyperthermia in the summer from water.
@@meanwhilebackonthehobbyfarm Wow! I had no idea! We raised many goats when I was a boy and I never knew that!
This heat wave we have going is brutal on everything especially if they cant sweat. Great job!
Great tool for sealing those jars! I like the dog food recipe too. I will probably use that one day. I hear you on that getting older. 😂 Are those pistachios you have canned up there?
Yes they are pistachios. I only can them short term under six months.
That alcohol is good to make extracts and medicinal tinctures.
Ty.
POR FAVOR ALGUÉM ME MANDA O ENDEREÇO ONDE COMPRAR ESTE APARELHO E O NOME.
Do you heat up the jars or anything? Like, germs or trapping anything inside..?
I put them in the oven at 200 for 15 minutes and then when they are cooled down I fill them up.
There’s also a car tool that you can get that does vacuum seals with a hand pump. I got one and it works great in the same way. This way if there’s no electric or you run out of batteries it still works.
The car tool that you are thinking of is called a brake bleeder. That is what I have been using
Damn but I. Like your stuff
Do they eat it down to where no trees or blackberries are left so that you can develop it? We have a dam on the other side of the pond that’s growing up with so many trees and blackberries and we cut them down and then they come back with a vengeance. We already have five dogs that we rescued and two cats to take care of and we like to travel a lot so owning more animals to care for is not on the agenda at the moment. And we have beautiful landscaping that would cost thousands of dollars to replace and many years if they get out and destroy it.
The goats will eat from the surface ground upwards. The pigs will rip the roots out of the ground and will do a great job preventing new growth from occurring.
@@meanwhilebackonthehobbyfarm ok, thanks. I do remember where my family had some goats in the woods and they didn’t allow any brush or weeds to grow up but they didn’t keep the field down where there was sunlight. I know that they like the brush the best.
How's your vacuumed sugar ? Is it like a brick in the jar ?
I add a few grains of rice and so far no bricks.
Just got one in the mail. I’m looking forward to dry storing food. Thanks for your information.
You will love it.
💛💛
8 minute mark is the great escape
Try to do this several times doesn’t work
How adorable! They are all like toddlers 😂 nosey but scared. Welcome Porkchop you are so cute!!🖤
