RAC - Should you join ? Listen to the audio and decide yourself...
Переглядів 155 років тому
This the RAC response I got when I logged a breakdown Xmas day with a car full of kids and presents to visit the family. I rang them back and they said as I wasn't a lone female roadside etc.. I wasn't the priority and surely I understood that! I also emailed customer service who sent me a cut and paste 'sorry we didn't get to you quickly'... in this case they just CANCELLED the call altogether...
Cat fainting / falling / collapsing / fitting / heart problem
Переглядів 10 тис.6 років тому
This is Grace. She had these episodes all of a sudden where she would just 'faint' and as a result fall off things, fall down stairs etc. The vets checked everything and could find nothing and it seemed to clear up. Several months later though back again and it turned out she had a heart problem and the behavior on the video is her heart stopping for up to 16 seconds !!! Hence, the brain 'faint...

    This is a syncope. Happens in dogs too. It happens when there is low blood / oxygen to the brain. I have meds for the heart but my vet also recommended sildenafil (viagra) to help with blood flow for my dog. Also try to feed your pet more food with vitamin K like spinach because it helps

    Thank you for sharing this. Our Twinkie has done this twice this week. We went to the vet after the first time and she said either he is asleep and falls or is having a seizure. He is sick and isn't just falling off while sleeping, we can see the change in his behavior. He moves more slowly after this happens. Yet it doesn't seem to be a seizure because he does not tremble or shake or walk in circles or drool - he just doesn't want to move. He is 13 years old and a survivor of the Joplin tornado. Sharing with our vet so she can see what he is experiencing, which is so very similar to your video, thank you.

    My cat just started doing this a couple weeks ago and I’ve been struggling to catch it on video or find anything online that seems to match it for the vet to see. But we keep having to babysit her to make sure she doesn’t hurt herself falling. Thank you for posting this it’s very helpful.

      No problem - we ended up putting pillows all over the house initally, but no matter how many you put down, they find somewhere else to fall from :-(

    Grace died about 4 years after having the pacemaker of mouth cancer 😞 but she enjoyed up to that time as normal, running. playing etc. One thing to add though, if you do go thru the pacemaker process, it is obviously not fun for the cat for those weeks of operation and recovery, and was tough to watch. Lots of pain relief to have to give, antibiotics, her pulling at the wound and also checkups. In cats, the pacemaker battery is placed in their rear half body side, and then a wire up through the chest to the heart. Would I do it again?... for a younger cat, yes, but for an older cat, I would definitely think twice. Whatever the circumstance, through the fainting, she fell down the stairs, she hurt her leg failing off the radiator, and collapsed on my lap several times. You simply can't watch an animal injure itself helplessly, so if you have to make that choice, you have my sympathy.

    This dryer worth buying?

    • @mikebythesea45
      @mikebythesea45 8 місяців тому

      Yes. It is worth buying with a few considerations. Small loads work best. Not for large bedding comforters. Takes longer to dry than conventional dryers. BUT it is inexpensive to run. At $.30 kWh, it costs me about 45 cents to dry a load of laundry. Compared to $2.50 my old Samsung conventional dryer. I love my Miele T1

    Did you ever find out what was happening to your kitty and/or the cause? The same thing is happening to mine for nearly a year now and after thousands of dollars of vet bills and visits I still have no clue what is wrong with her.

      my sweetie died from this, it´s the heart. irregular heartbeat with missed beats, when a beat is missed the cat faints. my cat was too old for a pacemaker. if yours is still young then that is what she needs.

      @klouleo 3 роки тому

      @@Kattamedia I am so sorry... The poor thing. It happens multiple times every day with my kitty and she’s turning 16 in April. It was suspected to be the heart and I was presented with the potential option for a pace maker as well, but she’s too old and I don’t want to put her through all that. I’m hoping there is some sort of medication I can give her to help...

    • @Kattamedia
      @Kattamedia 3 роки тому

      @@klouleo oh no, I´m so sorry. I don´t think there´s a chance at that age. My cat had to be euthanized because this became so bad all of a sudden. She spent a night in a vet clinic and they couldn´t help her and had to end her suffering. If your kitty is fainting several times a day then that sounds very serious.

    Thank you, Nick. My cat has been doing something similar for the past year or so. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, and looks like he is paralyzed on one side when this happens. It lasts for about a minute, maybe less. Then he gets up and is fine. He is almost 10 years old and is a happy, healthy, indoor cat. I don't have the money to take him to the vet for a bunch of expensive tests. My last cat spent 4 days at the vet for a kitty cold and died the night he came home. Took me a year to pay off the vet bill.

      Thank you so much for sharing this! My cat started doing exactly this last night. I thought he was having seizures. The emergency vet wasn't convinced he wasn't just stretching, and of course at the vet he was fine, bloodwork was great, no issues. It happens when he's sitting around doing nothing, or trying to fall asleep. He does have a heart condition he is taking meds for. I will show this video to the vet, I can't seem to catch it when mine does it!
