Thanks for the question. The answer, most times. ALL STATE PARKS REQUIRE a permit, and worst of all each region issues their own. Here is CNY we need a permit for CENTRAL, ($10), FINGER LAKES ($15) and then St. LAWRENCE ($10), and then the permit is only good on the beach ( water and dry sand only) between the Tuesday after labor day until May 15th. Permits run from Jan 1st thru Dec 31st, so that requires that you need to purchase another permit in the spring of the following year, but then you have your permit for the fall searching. The Onondaga County parks (Oneida Shores & Jamesville Beach) also require a permit but there is no charge for the permit. I only know of one beach that is OPEN year around and free and that is Sylvan Beach. Good luck with your searches. There are LOTS of us using detectors around CNY so if you ever need some help, just ask, even someone that you meet on the beach. Connell

Who ever thought of using plastic wheels on a mower needs to be beaten with a stupid stick. I have a JD 62C mower. It is a constant battle of replacing the plastic wheels and the metal axles.

Hi Connell I’m currently trying to rebuild my original Excalibur as the pin is all cracked up it’s the first model the pod is totally sealed but on opening looks like it had some leaking damage What was the name of the company that sent you the battery’s ?

Will the new batteries work on my “original” Excalibur (BBS Technology) machine?

Both of my Excalibur batteries just crapped out after many years of use, and I was about ready to buy a couple of new ones. Thanks to your excellent video, I will now rebuild them both! Thanks for posting this!

Thank you Daniele. Cell phones are so important for young people these days. Their whole lives are on them, and when they lose the phone, they are "lost" and "out of contact" with the world. His connection was reconnected, and he had a BIG smile for me.

Hi! Good work! But now I'm using (and producing) li-ion battery in my excalibur. It's modern and provides more operation time. If you are interesting, just tell me.

Once charged the Excalibur I battery should be putting out 14.4volts and will stop working when it runs down to 11.4 volts and then requires charging again. It is also a good idea to completely drain the battery at least once a year. I made up a fitting with a light globe and leave it on overnight then recharge from their. Thank you for your info. I’ll have to see if those replacement batteries are available in Australia. GLHH.

Nice try, Connell. I recently had a search where I spent 3 hours in a park, then 4 hours at a friend of the client's looking for a ring. No luck. She text me the next day to tell me she found it in her house. I was happy that she found it. Hopefully this girl's ring turned up. Keep at it my friend!
