Cal Poly Multi-species Grazing Project
mine is around 40 ft, can I safely cut it down? Right now has some fruits, when will be the best time for pruning in Central Florida? It is start flowering in March
Great video. I’ve been looking for years on pruning advice for my older tree, which is currently about 20 feet tall, with 4 main branches shooting up from about 8 feet. From what you are saying, I’m thinking that I could remove 2 of these, and maybe top two others the following year, while carrying out minimal thinning and cutting back of lower growth. Does that sound sensible?
Hello friends i need avacodo plants in India please send avacodo plants ditels.thenk you
Is it possible to have acssess to de dozer video making the berms?
Aloha , Thank you for the great videos. When using a pole chain saw for pruning do you use a organic or natural oil for the chain, or are you using the standard chain bar oil? Has this been a consideration? Thanks in advance from Molokai. Stop by when you are out here. Mahalo ,
Pure gold, thanks!

Nice conten avocado, iam interest to plant
Current clonal rootstocks are worthless for rootrot, I'm finding no differance from my trees grown from seed only in my own orchard, Dusa is a joke it's over hyped and not worth paying extra money for trees.
Very nice
Got a Fuerte here in Cayucos looking pretty sad and its time to attempt a pruning to revive it. Thanks for the info!
I never heard the name of rootstock being tryed most my trees are on dusa and I need something much better than dusa, I will not buy any more trees on dusa.
I have a question?
Hi
From East Africa here, we thank you so much for the information. we love avocado farming?
Nice👍🙏
Really a lot of great information and a lot of avocado tree experience... IMO. The nice thing about farming is that individuals approach the same task slightly different. And, this is how everyone learns from different experiences. So, even though I might approach some of your techniques differently I agree BOTH with your basic principles and objectives. Thank you for sharing! I am a GEM high density advocate.
A paper on cover crop height increasing frost damage, citation please?
Great video Gabe Filipe and Blake Petrucci!
That's literally a ton of guacamole ! ua-cam.com/video/k09lnc3tjK8/v-deo.html
best and stay motivated👍
Can I have some rootstocks pls
I have an avocado tree that needs pruning desperately. I was told not to prune it because it would kill the tree. I have a large limb touching the ground. What do I do? Can I prune it?
Of course you can, you won’t kill the tree you will make it stronger.
Can you tell us how did manage to keep your avocado trees servive the heat over 120f did cover them or you used mist to cool them down
This Aunty is pretty.
I am interested in how to find a larger Haas variety, all those I've found are very small fruit.
Hass is Hass, but Lamb Hass is larger and fruits a little later
Great content!

Good stuff
Hallo 🌹jee 🌾nice 👌

Think commercial production. A 2 pound avocado could be sold for processing. Revolutionize the ready to serve market. Global restaurant chains. Imagine being able to ship them to every Taco Bell in the world.
Another question not really pruning related but I have an avocado tree that got blown by the strong winds. It's a mature tree that came with our property. I was wondering if it's savable? We want to keep our precious avocado tree but it's slightly uprooted from the ground but roughly 90% is still in the ground. How do we get it back upright?
It should be fine. Trees can take crazy damage and eventually recoup.
Nice farming.👍👍👍
How many trees did you plant?
Thanks good video.
I am glad to see someone is working on avocado disease and propagation of this beloved fruit tree. San Luis Obispo should be cooler than the San Gabriel Valley yet still I feel too much direct sunlight harms these trees so I use a very tall canopy with shade cloth giving a jungle environment with regard to the sunlight since our sun here is brutal and the trees seem to love the warm climate with the filtered sunlight. My orchard is along the foothills of the Angeles National Forrest east of Pasadena.
I am growing a large amount of avocado rootstock in the San Gabriel Valley with a massive shaded grow in order to clone by grafting, a special avocado tree that I have developed over the past 20 years that produces a two-pound avocado that does not spoil for as long as a week once opened. So I am able to carve parts of the avocado for my consumption all week while it remains fresh. I have also developed some interesting saplings that actually give a white type of avocado flower. Currently, I have about 150 avocado rootstocks and I plan on expanding my shaded grow to add an additional 150 more avocado rootstocks. When I reach a thousand rootstocks I estimate I might develop a few new types of avocado trees. I did not know that cal poly Pomona had such an interest in avocado trees also.
any cold hardy varieties?
@@yourchava Yes I have noticed some have no problem with cold but they are only in the new stage . Oh and I keep chicken for the eggs but i am also using their poop and composting an all natural compost with no processed chems
So when are you going to describe the differences in rootstocks?
