How to Drop, 3 easy steps
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
Here’s my take on doing drops, this is the technique I use most of the time, especially when racing. There are lots of other techniques - I covered a couple at the end of the video. Hope you enjoy the video, ask any questions and future suggestions in the comments. Subscribe for more videos, cheers 👍 My Instagram rob_williamsmtb?hl=en

Top2Bottom - Secret Track (episode 3)

Secret South Wales trail, a local favourite, flowing corners that get steeper as you drop.
Top2Bottom: Pedalhounds (Episode 2)
Переглядів 2,6 тис.5 років тому
Often the forgotten gem of Cwmcarn, this 20 year old track is dripping in lines to play with. Rooted deep in the other side of the mountain, the Pedalhounds black run starts at the peak of the Cafal XC loop, spearing off left down the steeper side. Tree felling has left the top section of single track open and exposed. Huge unique rocky turns, secret gaps and hidden wall rides give the whole 20...
Top2Bottom: Y Mynydd (Episode 1)
Переглядів 1,6 тис.5 років тому
Growing up around the village of Cwmcarn, Rob's developed his skill and style cutting his teeth on this trail. Admittedly it looks a little different to how it did 15 years ago however it's still just as unforgiving as it's always been. The top half of the track is split into a choice of red and black lines, it boasts over 250m drop through the steep Welsh hillside with an abundance of roots, r...
After the ‘archies lift’ section do you have to cross a road or go through a carpark or something to get into castle valley? I got frustrated and confused when i rode this and ended up taking the road back to the bottom….Doh!
You need to re visit this.... 39:56 is the new KOM
Great video, looking speedy!
Wow ur so underrated
Nice one 👍🤘
Awesome!
Bro ur the best on berms I swear
Damp and mucky but you rip it! Wish I could ride like you. :)
You make it look so easy I am learning but lack confidence especially at speed , the risk on injury , I will watch again
Please do make how to jump video.
Yeah I have got a jump one planned 👍
Lunge, pop, manual.....lol tutorials say many different things. Thanks for mentioning them all I think the lunge turns into a manual if you are going too slow..... Nice video
LOL I think that messes me up.....I can't commit to one technique and I doubt myself.
@@scmtb8658 Yup, right there with you. More speed means less time to change your mind LOL
Cheers, I think if you’re going to slow I still wouldn’t manual unless landing was flat or uphill. I like to move really forward to do a more explosive lunge, also sometimes un waiting the rear to clear the lip. I might do a video on some drops like that because I do it pretty often when riding.
Very clear and to the point. It can get confusing with all the different ways to handle drop offs. This tutorial teaches the best and most used technique simply ands early. Just subscribed Thank you!
Damn... Excellent
Easy to understand and practical. Really good video Rob. Thanks
Threw that passive aggressive little jab at Americans. The American Revolution happened years ago, let it go.
This was helpful - thanks for posting. I admit to adding an American bunny hop to the small drops on my local trails to generate a bit more air time and add some excitement to the landing. The landings are rough!
Awesome tips. Thats one of the skills I want to learn. Thanks for sharing.
What bike are you riding in this video
NS define race 160,
This is actually one of the better tutorials out there and with other techniques. Quick and easy. Awesome!
Rippin
Very good explanation with a break down to follow up easily for a beginner like me. Thanks a lot, new subs here.🤙
Well done mate keep making videos like this really helpful.👍👍
Thanks Rob. Really nice, very straight forward and clear.
As a learner I find this way the best less to remember and do than other ways.faster the better cheers rob
Awesome video, awesome riding 😎
Great tips there Rob, well explained too. 🤟🏼
good watch for a Monday after work, wearing a mask all day, need to breath some of the loamy air
Awesome techy trails! Looks great fun
Nice so talented
sick edit
🔥🔥🔥
Great riding, hope no dog walkers venture on there during fire break lockdown. I've had a few close calls not so much with the people but with dogs off the lead walking or running straight out in front of me and I nearly lost it trying to swerve.
Your an amazing rider your one of my idols great job. It takes me around 2 hours to do it so good job
Amazing job can't wait for the cafall video
That's amazing, well done
Rob, I am looking at the same bike but only can get a Medium size. I am 170cm 5”7. Do you think I will be ok for this size?
Yeah I’m 5’6 and on a medium position feels good. You would probably fit the medium better, you will love it 👍
@@robwilliams9598 cheers mate, great video
Congrats Rob! What great effort. Lucky to have your pregnant gf out filming you twice too 🤪😍 ive never even ridden this track. So now I think I need to to appreciate how quick you were
Cracking Rob, well done. Those of us who try and up their PB’s on Twrch will know just how hard you will have had to go to get that KOM.
Yes well done...thats fast
Fair play dude!
Bloody awesome Mate. 👍
excellent job, when i considered myself fit it would still take me an hour ish to do that, probably more like 90 minutes now though :(
Same here. Beaten the hour twice but nowadays aged 40+ 1.5hrs is normal.
Hell of a job that, nicely done! First time I did Twrch took me like 2 hours and was absolutely knackered after one lap!
Strava ride. strava.app.link/HO8ueLWlwab
