I grew up in Great Horwood - so much nostalgia! I distinctly remember there being a Paul Elms in my class at primary school....

The actual bus station is depressing as is the main train station and the walk in between. In the evenings the shopping area looks dire. Totally put me off living over that way.

Worst place to live in east of England. Jealous people back stabbers and yes more befriend you then take it of you.

I imagine 2:58 is top end of High St, I lived in Cambridge St next St to the right during 1942/49, and new all of the back doubles. I was born in 1936. Now live in small Rural Community( population of around 2,000) in S.E.Queensland, Australia where locals/strangers stop and have a nag. In the process of jotting down my memories so that my Grand and Great Grandies have some idea of their heritage.

I lived in this village 60 years ago. My old school seems to have been cut off from the village by a by pass. Next to the pub was Mrs Bartons shop...we used to sit on those steps all the time. I lived across the road on the white bungalow which seems to be being gutted now..we were the first occupants. My mum worked down the road in The Walnuts.

Changed a bit since I lived there. There were more pubs and the only takeaway was the fish and chips shop.

I know it well. I was a choirboy here in the late 50s early 60s. The town where I grew up.

My dad had his eyes listed as "#9 grey" in Navy. I have no clue what #9 means? But I have same colored eyes as dad, so must be genetics? If anyone knows what #9 in eye color means, id like too know?

If you live in Northern Ireland or Scotland and you dont have some shade of blue or grey eyes, you are the odd one out.

Well, that's all we have time for this week on time team..... < END CREDITS > joking aside - I imagine in 100 years people will look at videos like this for educational purposes. I already look at videos of the era I grew up in (1970's/1980's) and think how different the world looks.

There are some nicer parts of Aylesbury. If you walk up from the A41 up Church street, toward temple square and then down to St Mary's (I think - the big church) and then around Parson's fee and pebble lane then it's all very nice. There's also some lovely spots down by the canal. Do that little circuit on a sunny Sunday and it's very nice. The Town Centre was actually quite nice until around 20 years ago. I don't really know what happened to it - but it's not the relatively serene and pleasant place it was. There seem to be less local businesses and more low-end national retailers.

Fenny still looks quite nice,but Bletchley high street.. really scruffy after not seeing it 23 years. What really strikes me is its all food shops,or places to eat. No actual shopping shops.

Deserted. Used to be such a vibrant cheerful place.

Back in the 50s 60s my uncle and aunt had butchers shop in Aspley I daresay it has been turned into a house now . Great childhood memories
