Frank Zappa Valley Girl Bass Cover

My cover of Valley Girl by the late great Frank Zappa, pretty tricky to play being that I'm not a bass player, my fingers started getting sore towards the end of the tune. Aftermarket Modifications, Might Want To Think It Over
This actually looks very easy. I am looking at this and the Nextone. Not sure the pedal works the same as on this Katana.
Warrior is 10x tougher than the Star. It looks awesome. Good job
love the playin man sick
Thanks bro👍
love your stuff man keep it up
Nice video! I have the same guitar as an everyday practise. Changed EMG81 EMG85 but thats all, great guitar, set up amazingly well from factory. You could make a video about how to learn to play those palm muted triplets. Looks so effortless how you thrash through them!
Cool, I was thinking about doing another informal tutorial on compact arpeggios maybe I’ll throw the muting technique in there too 👍🏾
I love a lot about this! The shape of the guitar, the tone, the clean playing, the clear communication, the positive vibes! Rock on! 🤘 😎🔥
Thanks a lot!
That “on” sound so satisfying lol
Thanks for sharing, man. Nice axe!
Thanks for watching!
You are absolutely correct on the wood needing to breathe for full resonance. And some people swear the type of wood has no bearing on sound. That is false. I finally got a Les Paul with an East Indian Rosewood fretboard. It sounds amazing! Even acoustically, not plugged in. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what sounds good to you.
Yep
This is nice to watch 7:15 AM, thank you man!
Glad you enjoyed it😎
Just got me one. I kinda like its personality on the pickups! But I absolutely ADORE its looks
Yeah. The Concord and some early V's had upper fret access issues.
True, I once had a WC star, that was Wayne Charvel’s short lived line that he had after he had sold the rights to his name to Grover Jackson, and the last 2 frets of the 22 were basically unplayable
Nice playing brother. I started a channel awhile back. I posted two vids and kinda lost the interest. Took a few years off from playing and owning a guitar. Maybe check them out and let me know if i should even bother posting more. Much appreciated brother. P.S. Those gallops are nice 👍.
Thanks and it’s never too late 😎
That Tone Zone is pleasant sounding. You know,......my luthier showed me a very cool tone hack with bolt on's. You loosen the two screws nearest the neck on the neck plate,....all while strung and tuned to whatever you play at,.....then simply loosen the other two. If the neck wasn't seated probably at the factory,. .......it will be after that. And if you can manage to do it while the strings are ringing??? You should hear the strings drop about a quarter step or half step. Then tune it back up and rock on. I cant emphasize enough the difference in sustain and resonance. Incredible. You know how some guitar hacks are that don't cost anything. Mostly BS. This one absolutely works. And everytime ive done it,.....on whatever bolt-on im using, has need the neck seated.
Cool thanks for the tip 👍🏾
Oh wow. I thought Warriors were neck through. Interesting.
Some are, usually the higher end models, my white with the reverse headstock is
where is the static coming from Bro?
Most likely from the cell tower atop the apartment building, sometimes it adds noise
🤘yes!
This is the only decent modelling amp that lets you do a firmware update without the need for a computer. I am not replacing my busted laptop so i can do firmware updates for a Spark. This is more than adequate for my basic needs.
Love this Vid! Solid review plus the treat of hearing that inimitable Lydian guitar style. And you drafted your future ax as a child; that is why it resembles Rodan and Zok 😉 Keep up the good Flow!
Thanks I represent the classic Toho content whenever I can 😎
I appreciate you. Enjoyed your playing.
Thanks a million 👍🏾
I love the finish! And good vibrato.
Thanks👍🏾
This is the JS Series (bolt on neck) great bang for buck but I luv neck thru so x series only 4 me. Your white x series warrior is the BEST. Surprised you think the nitro gloss finish nasals the tone. Please discuss more & your direction as a guitar player at 60yrs. GR8 vid man!!!!!
Thanks, I’m pretty sure the white Warrior is polyurethane because if it had been nitrocellulose it’d have costed a bundle 😎
If it were me and I have a spark live. I would create a bank for each Amp. So 4 settings each amp. Clean, Cruch, Lead tone and 4th tone that amp does well. Work my way through the amps.
That's a great idea!
Thanks Bro
No idea how the algorithm got me here but you sound amazing my man! Keep up the good stuff
What do you think of the SH-11 as compared to the DiMarzio Tone Zone?
nice review! do you experience a popping noise when sqwtching range with the knob with the wha engaged? i didn't hear anything in your video but mine pops like crazy
Not really, the old Crybabys used to have that problem but the newer knobs are pretty quiet
tried one of these with my marshall jmp hw 100w.... lasted 8 minutes and went up in smoke.
Sorry to hear that, though that had to be an issue with the amp most likely
@@ronlydianproductions no the amp is fine. blew out half of the caps in the power soak... returned under warranty
@@martincockburn6821 Then the attenuator was somehow defective again sorry to hear that.
You have some great sounds happening. Swapping guitars during a performance is a great thing to have. I need that feature cause I play along to Ozzy Osborne tribute, so I require 2 guitars plugged in and ready to go. Switching from the standard Marshall sound and the modified randy rhoads sound is also a great feature to have. Switching between a tuner and the main sound is a very popular feature.
There's a lot of uses for A/B etc... boxes. Guitarists must realise this and try them and learn from their experiences. I added up all the line outs for my MXR pedals and I concluded I could connect to 10 amplifiers. I didn't realise I could do that. Watching and listening to other people we can learn more things than just thinking for ourselves. Guitarists should spend less time in buying frenzy mode and do more exploring the possibilities of the signal chain.
We really appreciate the talk. Lots of people live lives that don't have much social interactions, so your observations are interesting for people to listen to.
Thanks for demonstrating this. I and other people like to hear people talking. It distracts us from our life of surviving on a spinning planet. Experiencing practical uses is a great thing. Just talking about those practical uses is entertaining. Keep up the good work 👏
Happy to be of service
Does it affect the tone a lot? I dont want to spend a lot on an attenuator at the moment (or rather i can't afford to) but i'm worried it'll suck the tone from my amp. Thoughts?
Actually should not, only the volume level
UA-cam pretty much keeps recommending me this video every time I open it. Guess I'll be stuck listening to it for a while :) keep em coming
Thanks
Most excellent tones, this is the one I have been looking for, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Great stories! I went crazy for rock and roll when I saw Kiss on TV in 1977. I was four and they aired a concert on NBC or one of the big 3 networks. When Gene sang "God of Thunder" drooling stage blood and hovering on that platform I went absolutely bonkers. I was jumping off the sofa in the living room like Spiderman, doing summersaults, trying to sing along to the lyrics. My life changed right there. I felt the energy and power of rock and roll and loved how it combined with the theatricality of Kiss who were like superheroes to me. I got all the Kiss action figures (don't call them dolls!), my aunt bought me all the Kiss albums, and a Peter Criss costume for Halloween 1978 and applied the cat greasepaint to my face. What a great time.
That's epic
So do i have to have the app on to use the spk pedal?
Only in order to do the one time firmware update, then it's no longer needed
Thanks Bro👍🏾
Your Solo fit in Perfectly....Thanks for Sharing. Awesome !
Sounds great .thanks
You bet!
Love these back in the day tales Ron! I get great results from my Zoom H2n portable mic, your adio is good; just a little low without using my headphones! Your Good Bud!!! Keep Rockin'
Cool, thanks!
Great music Ron!...you gotta upload a snapshot of you back in the day, good fun. Cheers Bud.
Check out my Instagram account, there are some pics from back in the glory dayz
Just Brilliant Ron! Get a green screen and have a stadium behind....cheers buddy!
LOL I'm actually working on that
Great guitar & like how you did the elctronics. Would like to see you do more about this warrior or visit some guitar shops and review their jacksons warriors. I luv the X-Series but have never gone for the Dinky, prefere the soloist but your warrior reverse headstock is amazing...sad you can't buy them today!
Thanks, I'd love to do something like that ubt most shops don't stock Jacksons much anymore :(
Still can’t get it to work with my Lenovo laptop 🤔
That’s all iPhone, I tried a couple usb mics and they sounded worse, it’s a work in progress 😎
Sounds Great, look forward to more.
Awesome, thanks 👍🏾
multiple riffs is the recipe to succesful songs
Cool story man! I reccomend you invest in a better microphone because audio volume is quite low. But cool stuff!
AWESOME!!!🌍💯
Thank you! Cheers!
