I really wish that some of these modern radio manufacturers with make radios like this again, I know a lot of people that would want a tri-band 10, 11, and 12 m radio with all mode capabilities, am, FM and sideband.

I bought one of those over ten year ago and sent it back due to stability problems with the VCO on SSB. I hear nobody is complaining and have been in two minds to try again as it is the only thing on the market. When I sent mine back, I bought a second hand 817 and used that, but always wanted one of these to play with that works as one would expect. My point is where did you purchase it from please?

Kate cb frequency is year around?

Those extendable antennas are great to use on a mobile radio on field day, using a pl259 to bnc female 90 degree adapter. A 14 gauge stranded wire then can be attached to the chassis of the mobile radio stretched out to improve the SWR. The whole antenna setup acts close to performance of a 1/2 wave dipole. You may have to tweak the long wire on the chassis of the mobile radio.
