Sterling Ink N1V | Mandy Lynn Plans Hello Fall Kit | I Can’t See Through My Fingers!!! | Chatty |
Exactly! I really can’t plan at all when it’s horizontal!
The biz uses the MIO paper. It is a little different that the paper Kokuyo uses for the other planners.
Thank you-I always forget which is which!
I love the vertical too, my brain doesn't work with a horizontal. 😊👍
Oh my goodness these are so cute! I'd waste so much time doing these LOL
Totally! But so super relaxing!
Your nails 🔥🔥🔥
@@_LumiRosa_ Thank you!
I did a fountain pen haul video about 8 months ago! I'm addicted to fountain pens but I haven't taken the time to refill my pens. I prefer heavy pens and I have two I really enjoy. I may have to look for the pen you shared!
I think you might like it. It’s def on the heavier side since I’m used to Platinum Preppy and Pilot Kakuno and Lamy Safari.
Thank you so much, Beth!
Glad you are feeling better. Another cute sticker kit!!
😍👍❤️
This was so hard for me!
Personally, I usually need to write first and sticker later. Then again, my planning style is probably best described as chaotic kindergartener with ADHD. I am chaotic and I do have ADHD, so I guess that is appropriate.
Chaotic kindergartener-love it 😂!
I'm a lister. I need vertical. The first week in my N1H I already know it's not for me. And its only Monday.
I hear you! I’m currently using a Weeks but have created a vertical spread that works for me. But, when you know it’s not going to work, you just know!
Thank you for sharing. I like watching planner videos to learn about all the other planner options out there.
You’re very welcome! What planner are you using?
I have a similarly sized kit from another shop and I flipped the January sticker to fit the side column!😊
@@ilanabennett0369 Good thinking! Will try that next time!
Weird coincidences - I found your channel because I got a Jibun Techo for 2025 and was looking for how people are using them. Then I realized we have the same table, although mine has black roses instead of cherry blossoms. And now I realize you had the exact same SI N1 as I did, in Forest with the gold edge. 😂
@@erininspace That’s so funny! I guess great minds really do think alike 😂!
So fun to see you getting out of your comfort zone with the stickers. The one washi is giving vintage wrapping paper vibes. Hope you had a nice holiday!
@@TheKoffeeVerse Thanks, Beth! Hope you’re having a great one, too!
Thank you for sharing your use for your planner. I have used a version of this planner for the past few years, the diary or the days. I appreciate the functional ideas that you shared.
Thank you so much for watching! I love the Jibun Techo and consider it the Brain of all my operations 😂.
Planner friend, I hear ya!! I'm so on board with vertical. And I also stubbornly love and want to keep the hobo weeks mega....Time runs left to right for me, which means Monday, Tue, Wed, from left to right. Not down. Yeah, that' me, too. I'm thinking of Sterling Ink as well, but love the weeks size.
@@solascripturamjc9681 Hey there! I have been playing with layouts and hit upon the one that works for this vertical brain: ua-cam.com/video/yTlyB7Q6y4c/v-deo.htmlsi=XcM4kvDvAzF3kiBJ I hope that either it works for you, too, or that you can figure out how to keep the Weeks. I’m also working with the same spread in my Sterling Ink N2 and it works almost the same way! Now I’m waffling between the 2 planners.
I luv the Preppy. I got one about a year ago and now I have nine of them. Different colors filled with matching colored ink. I don't care if they are for 'beginners'; they cost me less than $10 each. I can't afford a $200 fountain pen so the Platinum Preppy is good enough for me. Also I noticed that another comment mentioned the converters. I got the rubber seals and silicone grease and just filled the barrels with ink, it holds so much and you can easily see the ink level even in the colored pens. I feel like I'm making a commercial for the company. lol. Gook luck with the channel. 💙
So fun! Happy holidays!
@@TheKoffeeVerse thanks, Beth. Happy Holidays to you, too!
Preppy was my first fountain pen too! Then I bought a Twsbi, then Kaweco, then LAMY, etc. Getting into fountain pens can be dangerous to your bank account! Still love my Preppys and use them on a daily basis at work and home, very dependable pen. I upgraded them with converters to use bottled ink. Yes the converters cost almost double the pen, but I think it's worth it! Wonderful video, thank you!
@@NonprofitAce It sounds like I might be on the same dangerous path as you! Because I’m eying a TWSBI, and a Kaweco, and a Pilot Metropolitan… I do have a LAMY Safari but don’t use it on my Weeks-it’s a lot wetter than the Preppy. I’m going to try to control myself with this new obsession!!!
@@PlatypusPlans It's a lot of fun! My advice is to add the pens you really want to your cart but then wait a couple weeks. If you still want them just as much as when you added them, then they are a good purchase. It's fun to experiment with different nib sizes, pen shapes, weights, etc. Don't even get me started with inks! Unfortunately, all my beloved Noodlers inks bleed on the new hobonichi paper 😪. DeAtramentis Document inks seem to do well. I am a lefty, so it's important for the ink to dry fast. Cheers to your future pen adventures!
@ Wise words-thanks!
Fabulous lineup! Looking forward to your 2025 videos! ❤
@@LifewithLisaAnn Thank you, LisaAnn! May I ask you about the W222? Does having the monthlies separated bother you? Or does it seem natural to you?
@ I love how the W222 is laid out! Having the month, followed by the weekly’s work fabulous for me! 🩷 The entire planner layout has become a favorite for me!
Saw the name and felt oddly compelled to watch this video.. :) Always wanted a Hobonichi, but I have no use for it so I just live vicariously through others. Never tried the Preppy but do love the fountain pens I have! So much nicer for my wrist. My starter fountain pen was a Lamy Safari (M nib), very comfortable to use. My upgrade was a Lamy Studio (EF nib). Will try another brand though, as I feel the Lamy nibs are a bit too broad for me. I'm a righty myself but there's a lot of lefties that use fountain pens - just be mindful of the ink drying time. :) I usually have a paper between whatever I am writing on and where I lay my hand so the destructive oils of my hand doesn't mess up the paper surface. Love the nails!
@@unkemptplatypus1607 You’re the best…AND you have platypus in your name!!! I’m not encouraging you to get a Hobonichi, but I will say that people use theirs for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with appointments or calendars… From what I understand about fountain pens, a Japanese fine point is much finer than a European one. So if you’re looking for a really fine nib, maybe try a Pilot Varsity or Platinum Preppy as these are very low cost to test out the nib. Thanks for the compliment-manicures are the one place I do pamper myself!
@@PlatypusPlans I feel like I already have a neglected pile of regular notebooks so maybe I should not add to that? (I say, but we all know what happens with those piles, they magically multiply). But I always get tempted when watching videos like yours, haha. And yes - I've heard Japanese nibs are supposed to be finer so that is probably what I would go for, heard a lot of good things about Pilot. Did try someones Varsity yeeears ago, but that was an M nib I think. Would like something with a less cheap feeling barrel as well. Haven't really been on that hunt yet as there are so, so many options :D
@@unkemptplatypus1607 I was at a stationery shop just yesterday and tried a Pilot Vanishing Point. The body was heavy and felt great! I think I’m going to start an “envelope” and save up for it, so maybe by Xmas 2025 I will gift it to myself.
@@unkemptplatypus1607 I've heard the Pilot Kakuno has a very fine EF at a low cost. But Preppy EF is very fine too and even a little cheaper. I've found that my Twsbi EFs are more fine than LAMY as well. Traditionally I always use EF and F for planning. But I am moving towards medium and even stub for journaling. It's fun to try different things!
@@PlatypusPlans My plan is to go to a store and try out different things, I have an idea of what I'd like in a pen so it would be fun. Future project though. Having a dedicated fountain pen envelope sounds like a great idea :D
Really enjoyed this! I’m using my jibun techo b6 and I’m realising that the size of the weekly boxes is too small for me! Thank goodness I have a weekly sterling ink in N1 size which is similar to the hobonichi cousin in size but it was weird feeling so cramped in a planner, first time that happened to me! I guess I’ll probably take out the pages that I like and put them in other planners or something so that’s one 2025 planner down before the year started 😂
@@lipsticklover I started 2024 with the B6Slim and ended with A5Slim and agree that the B6 was just a hair too small. I like the idea of taking out the pages you like and adding to another planner-very clever! Please let me know what you decide on for 2025!
Ooooh-I’d love to see that vid! I’m trying not to get too crazy with fountain pens. My plan for 2025 is to start journaling in my A5 Take A Note and then perhaps take it into a larger notebook. And of course I want to use fountain pens. I’d be somewhat reluctant to use the Platinum Preppy as it is a bit scratchy so I’m thinking of using my Lamy Safari but with a black ink instead of the blue it came with. Is it hard as a lefty to use a fp?
I end up cutting the ribbon page markers out because they annoy me. As for fountain pens... I got a little obsessed with them a while back. I need to do a monthly video with what inks I have in which pen. I have the platinum preppy in Fine and then a few fancier pens LOL
cute kit
@@ZayaPlans I’m loving it!
Super cute kit!
@@TheKoffeeVerse 100%!
It is cute and does cover your bases. However, you might still be frustrated with it not being vertical. I get the only being a vertical planner. I am however a multiple planner girl. I just started to use a Hobonichi weeks for meal tracking and fitness, so I divide the horizontal day in 3 rows for each meal, and then count macros on the blank page opposite. I plan to use a B6 Papertess for my planning and journaling in 2025, but it is HUGE and has a horizontal weekly layout that I am not sure i want to overcome each week. I did spend weeks working on printouts trying different layouts, which was super fun and creative, but still not feeling settled. As I got into my Hobonichi weeks this December I just FELL IN LOVE with the size and portability as I took it grocery shopping in a fanny pack, instead of having to take my large purse to house my Hobonichi Cousin AVEC that i am using this year for EVERYTHING. So after some searching, have ordered the N2V from Sterling ink to be my weekly spread (and I will keep my B6 Papertess for journaling, habit tracking, etc...) and also my running to do list. This was one thing from my many B6 trial layouts (I have been doing since November prepping for my new planner) that I want to keep, and was afraid to take away too many of my daily pages from Journaling. Originally I thought I could do a 2 page weekly vertical spread, and then use the last 6 pages for to do lists and journaling, and then that felt really tight. So thank you for all the N2V layout videos, there are not many vidoe that I have found online for this size, and it is so helpful to see one in use! It is super hard to be a 1 planner person and not have it be HUGE and HEAVY (I used to carry an 18 month Happy Planner Classic size EVERYWHERE).
@@martawetmore You are so organized! I love your process as you worked through your different planners. Yes, I totally understand falling in love with the Weeks as well as the N2-it’s so easy to carry! I can’t believe you used to lug around a Happy Planner-that’s true dedication and discipline! So glad to meet other N2V planners. As you said, there aren’t too many of us out there!
See I am a horizontal planner. Been vertical planning for years and was never good at it. When I found horizontal planners like take a note and papertess I was so excited.
@@The_Planner_Diva I love it!

You have some great selections here! I totally agree with you about that dashboard style layout with the days on one side and the grid on the other. Thanks for giving me a light at the end of the tunnel! So happy to hear that everything worked out for you! Thank you for commenting 🩷
I hear pretty often that people don't like the color in the regular jibun and I always find that fascinating! The color is what drew me to the original. It's just enough to keep it interesting and make me happy but not too much that I'm embarrassed to use it in public. I definitely prefer the thin paper versus the mio paper. Just interesting setting people's different preferences! 😃
@@underoverrepeat TBH, I was drawn to the colors too…at first. And then the colors started to annoy me. I like seeing the colors in other people’s vids, though. You’re right-it IS fascinating 😂. Are you in a Jibun Techo for 2025?
@@PlatypusPlans yes, I got another regular jibun for 2025. I'm still trying to decide how to use all the different pages and sections. There's so many possibilities! Lately I've really enjoyed using the monthly page to write down what we had for dinner. Then I rate if the family liked it. Along the side of the page I track how many times we got take out with tally marks.
