Banger just wanted to come thru and say I did it I paid my insurance in full, I find it funny I work in a nursing home as housekeeper and we have ot/pt students training its mad relatable bc I know how it be, gonna try to make my money back, and continue my Roth good luck too you as well
Way more honest than I would’ve anticipated. This is very much appreciated
great video! appreciate you being so transparent and spreading positivity to pay off debt. Looking forward to following your journey and seeing you succeed :)
You're doing great! I highly recommend everyone invest monthly in an SP500 fund! No one can beat it! The compound interest will make you a very rich person in the long term! Congrats!!!
You are doing it right. And will have a wonderful life if both of you are this disciplined. It is that simple.
I'm in the same financial situation as you, but a little further down the road and I can say without a doubt that you're on the right track. I started off with about 170K of student loan debt 2 and a half years ago, and now that I just turned 29, my debt is now down to 60K which I'll likely be paying off in full soon as my HYSA interest is now lower than my loan interest. Aggressively paying it down has 2 major benefits, the first being the obvious: less debt. The second is that once the debt is gone (depending on how aggressive you were). you'll essentially have an entire additional income of cash flow (think what an extra 50K a year will do for you). All this is to say, good job and good luck! I started getting my full income a little later than you, so I'm hovering around 80K, but 100K net worth in 5 years is absolutely doable!
Congrats on the achievement!
You're still young with plenty of time and you're making significant progress!
Nice work! I used to pay toward my loans every Sunday night. I used a spreadsheet and also wrote it out on my bathroom mirror.
Follow the Dave Ramsey plan instead! Great work so far tho!
Doesn’t align with my goals but I’m glad he’s helped others!
@ could I possibly offer to you my hand in marriage?
Investments are the roots of financial security; the deeper they grow, the stronger your future will be."
The deeper your investment roots, the stronger your financial security will be in the future.
Exactly! With my adviser, I’ve cultivated deep investment roots, strengthening my financial security for the future.
I would love an introduction to an adviser who can help me strengthen my financial roots.
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further.
Thank you for this amazing tip. I just looked the name up and wrote her.
Good luck you are in the good path.
Watching in my 40s... And only just starting investing I feel so behind!
Best time to start is now!
Keep going bud I started at 41... was in 7K debt and living in my overdraft. I'm now debt free have a 15K emergency fund. 20K saving pot and just surpassed ~$300K. My portfolio is roughly ETFs, REITs, and Stocks... I am almost 43 now!
@ShelleyfromCali congrats on the hard work!
That's some fascinating returns! My experience investing hasn't been a pleasant one, despite having a double major in economics I've been trying to make sense of the market. Quite overwhelming!
I hear you. It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed, especially when the market doesn't behave as expected. One rule I follow is that I don't put my money into anything I don't understand... By actually keeping it simple and leveraging pro guidance from a reputable CFA I am able to avoid most common pitfalls. Though on average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system allows for a more hands-off approach. I conservatively follow her recommendations and buy and sell strategies, and tbh this makes it possible for me... I am convinced it's not just hard work but smart work:-)
awesome how much financial knowledge you have at 25! btw do you follow ramit sethi? thats the only other person ive heard use the term guilt free spending lol
Your yearly income is a huge context you left out.
76K
I’m 20 with $7,000 saved with a full time job car and rent. I have no parental help and I feel very good about the future I know $7,000 isn’t much but for me it’s a great stepping stone
You’re doing amazing!
Great stuff!!
Periodt.
The budget formatting looks good. I think it gets the job done for what you need. Around the 3:10 mark, you started to talk about concerns of going over a category. I have an average column that is next to each category that looks at the entire year. I use this as a guage during the year and for planning on next years budget. Might be worth adding.
Love that idea! I've only been able to have a predictable income for a few months so that will be really helpful looking forward. Thanks!
I like how it's organized! Very promising that you're putting in the effort. Can't wait to see the 30 results!

Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.
Starting early is simply the best way of getting ahead to build wealth , investing remains a priority . I learnt from my last year's experience , I am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time .
I totally agree; I am 66 years old, recently retired, with approximately $1.2 million in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, I didn't do all this alone, but with the help of a financial advisor. Having one is currently the best way to trade in the stock market, especially for people nearing retirement.
Is there any chance you could recommend who you work with? I've wanted to make this switch for a very long time now, but I've been very hesitant about. I'll appreciate any recommendation.
Just wanted to say, ‘Carol Vivian Constable’, my CFA, is the real deal in his field. Dig deeper into her background; she's got years of experience and is a goldmine for anyone diving into the financial jungle!
I just Googled her name and her website came up right away. It looks interesting so far. I'm going to book a call with her and let you know how it goes. Thanks
I hope it goes well for you!
She’s absolutely beautiful.
That’s what you took from this?
@ May I explain what I’ve learned from this video through instagram?
No ❤️
@ worth a try. 🤷
That is crazy. At 25 I was like 160k in debt but it was a house I didn’t go to school. Now I am a little under a million in debt and it is 3 homes with one paid off. Wife and I had aggressive financial goals. We put off having kids for about the first ten years of our marriage. Wish we had more kids now she is not able to get pregnant anymore. So we only have two. My unsolicited advice is you’re obviously doing well and have a great plan financially don’t put off having kids if it is something you want. If you don’t want kids great but if you do find the right partner and make it a priority before it’s too late.
One piece of advice, for your emergency savings, I recommend buying US Treasury ETF's instead of just cash because those pay you dividends. So if your goal to to have a 10k emergency savings, I recommend 8k in Treasury ETF and 2k in just cash.
But remember to choose the most liquidy option, as liquidity is a must in the emergency fund. You never know when an emergency will pop up and never know how much it's gonna be
* GOOD RESET *
This is just advice of what I’m about to say you have a lot of money in different areas and that’s a good thing but sometimes it’s not really of a big need. I would stop putting money into a fund unless if your car is so bad to the point where you know it’s gonna die like this year coming up in 2025 but then you would not look into buying a brand new car you’d buy a used car specially for your age. Don’t buy a brand new car, you’re gonna mess up your wealth even more. Personally, I would focus on investing your money in the Roth account and maxing that out put $100 a week into the S&P 500 and put it on auto pay and don’t think about it. Just have it automatically come out it’s $5200 for the year and then at the end of the year you can just max the rest of it out, your checking account or savings account that you saved I would do everything in my power to focus on yes paying off those student loan debts and I would not use any of those credit cards. I would in fact I would chop them up. Don’t close them but just chop them up. You don’t need credit cards they’re stupid and they’re only gonna affect your future growth of wealth, if you have to have a credit card pick your favorite one and simply be very careful when you use it you don’t need to have so many credit cards for traveling mileage. That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen no disrespect on how you think of it. I’m not trying to put you down. I’m just being honest with you no millionaire has ever said oh I love my mileage points. No, that’s not how they became wealthy, the whole point of money is to utilize it as a tool because that’s what money is. It’s a tool to get you farther in life to build you more money which is just more of a tool to get you farther in life that is it this piece of mind, where you can literally not worry about how am I gonna pay for the utilities? How am I gonna put food on the table and not feel broke because you have a massive savings and your retirement is fully funded and your growing equity in your life, and you have established a good. Bond with growing money that’s when you will feel peace in life. being financially stable is one of the most important things that people should understand and value in life and by the way, it’s always the little wins in life when you make money that’s gonna really feel like the biggest wins
Talk is cheap!
I’m curious sorry this kinda gonna be a long question I previously mentioned how I bought a new Camry etc etc I’m 22 my car insurance is the only true issue I’m having bc it’s so expensive previously was paying 758 a month they raised me to 808 but if I pay in full I’ll save 300 dollars like 300 cheaper from 758 a month basically my question regards to the fact that to pay the premium it’s about 4400 I have 4500 in checking 1k in savings the payment would be due December 4th I won’t get paid till December 6th so basically I’ll only have “100 dollars” but currently think if I grind door dash I’ll be okay, I have an 800 dollar car payment I do every time this way I can pay my loan off faster that would be December 19th and then I also wanna finish my Roth IRA I need to invest 2600 into it overall do you think it’s in my best interest to pay the car insurance in full or pay it by month even tho it’ll be a little more expensive
Are you in the states? Do you have tickets or accidents on your record? 800 is a lot per month on car insurance- I would start by shopping around. If you can take advantage of safe driving discounts that would be beneficial too. I know this isn’t the case for every one, but do you have family that you can bundle your car insurance with to save money, and pay them your share? I’m a fan of having emergency savings, and if you spend the 4400 now will you save it again for the next time? I would say keep paying the more expensive monthly premium and try to save an additional 4400 in the next 6 months to pay the discounted rate then- or change insurances… your car insurance will also go down at 25 if you’re in the USA. My biggest worry is you would spend the money now, not have a monthly bill and not work as hard to keep saving the money for the next expense and then be screwed then and have no emergency savings- but you know yourself. If you’re able to replenish the savings, and save for the next 6 month payment it would be good to save the money!
@ thank you for the insight and an actual thought out response I’m gonna take what you said into consideration, yes I’m in New York and believe it or not I recently did shop around I even called the an insurance broker one of my friends recommend me and they said they can’t really do much bc I have only had my car insurance for 6 months and no I don’t really have much family, my mom and dad are already on a plan but they have to many cars to add me to there plan, so I am technically on a plan with my mom, I also checked other places and it seems like I have a decent rate (according to them) I can’t really do much better unless like you said I did a defensive driving course which I may look into doing as well here soon, my thought process right now is get the one bill out of the way for 6months so I can more so focus on the car payment and replenishing my savings, but if I have to be clear to me right now the most important thing is that I invest the 2600 into my Roth IRA to finish it for the year (sorry for the large texts I genuinely don’t have many people to talk to about stuff like this irl so I been brainstorming more and more in UA-cam comments lol)
@@sandraonabudget sorry forgot to add as well no accidents and a stop sign ticket and a no inspection ticket but every insurance company I spoke to says they don’t really affect the rate as much and one of them goes away in march
Ugh east coast insurance prices suck. Sounds like you have your head screwed on straight!
🔥
Snow tires very smart for the Prius
Oh it’s even worse honey, I drive a Subaru ❤️
@ Subaru awd no ? Should be even safer tbh
Definitely is! But we live in the mountains and I work in a hospital so I have to leave the house in any condition. Snow tires give me extra peace of mind and are a lot cheaper than crashing my car
@ you’re taking what I said as something hostile, I was just noting that it’s a good idea to use snow tires I was just mistaken I thought you had a Prius, I opt for all season tires but those are usually pretty pricey thankfully my new car came with all season tires already or else I would be changing them to all seasons as well (even tho my Camry has awd like you said much better then crashing)
@benalfano1469 hey you’re right. I’m sorry- Thanks for not being part of the 99% of the internet that’s mean
I feel blessed coming out of college with no debt. Keep up the grind and you will make it to six figures positive in no time.
My net worth at 25 is roughly $36k usd. However I didn't go to college or university so that kind of boosts the number a bit in comparison.
Awesome work keep it up!
Love the transparency as an OT!
Pre tax high yield savings account? Why? Is it in your 401k or ira? and why?
I have a health savings account if thats what you’re referring to. It’s money that can be set aside pretax, grow without being taxed and be spent on healthcare related costs without taxes. It’s also funded in part ($1000/year) by my job, so my healthcare costs except for my premiums are essentially free to me
Pro tip for the HSA, you will get more value out of it in the long term if you treat it more like a Roth IRA instead of an FSA. It's a triple tax advantaged account (the only one at that), so everything you put in is pre-tax, you don't have to pay capital gains tax on any investment gains, and you don't pay any taxes on distributions either. Leaving the cash in the account and invested is worth more than the immediate tax savings on current medical expenses. You can submit receipts for reimbursement whenever you want to, even if it is 30+ years after you incurred the expense as long as you keep the receipts. It's best to keep that money in there growing tax free if you can afford to cover medical expenses with regular savings, and then when you need the money later on you can submit the accumulated receipts for reimbursement.
Okay, I’m aware of this but genuinely curious- if you can only spend it on healthcare related costs what’s the benefit of having a crap ton of money in it? I’m never going to need 100k+ worth of health costs if I can’t use it for LTC or to pay my premiums. Can you cash it out for anything past a certain age?
Love the transparency and I do think that many people will get inspired by this or feel better about their situation! Congrats for being in 5 figure debt haha, hope you pay it off all very soon! All the best 🙌
Hope y’all enjoyed our city. New Orleans has so much to offer. We went to the concert too. It was phenomenal. We did Saturday when she brought out Sabrina.
So fun! We really loved the city!
Great vid! I'm 26 and just fully paid my house so my net worth is around $700k with no other debt! It's been a rough journey working days and nights but worth it.. Keep it up Sandra!
Don’t tell people on the internet you paid off your house- they’ll be so worried about your investments! lol major congrats! Amazing accomplishment and how nice to owe no one a thing for the roof over your head!
24 here with 190k net worth. Aggressively investing is key in my opinion. I would rather keep the debt and max out investments. The investments will grow faster than the debt
Sounds like great advice, you should share it on your channel ❤️
23, 113k equity 170k in assets using margin at 5.8%, started investing aggressively at 19, I agree and glad to see like-minded individuals!
