Hi, Mark. You finished your SE.5a successfully. I use only Mr. Color any time. I don't use enamel nor oil paint (paint fot drawing pictures). The base colors depend on planes. For example: 1. sail color No.45 2. orange yellow No.58 + No4, Changing mixture rate (I usually use a couple of patterns) Then, using a fine-point brushe, paint a lot of thin and short lines (that's the point) as an annual ringas and wood texture. When you try this, watch enough a lot of cut faces of real timber, and study that. If you have a Albatros B.II kit from WnW, the wood texture decal which includes the kit will help you. At last, over coat lightly with transparent yellow (No.C48), orange (No.C49) and brown (No.GX109), make adifference of tone. It's very easy, but I think it's one way to try with a plastic boad first. It's a long spell of too hot weather，help Mark. This is a famous? French trainer jet. I don't prefer jet planes neither, but I like trainers in this eara. I've been building a 1/48 Delfin trainer with special painting. The painting pattern is very complicated, so it's been more than a couple of years, but I don't know when it finishes. I myself look foward to finish (:

毎度ご覧いただきありがとうございます。 イギリスのソッピース社のストラッター偵察機をベースに，フランスのサルムソン社が再設計し，1917年に完成させた複座の偵察機がこの機体です。 サルムソン社は，もともとがエンジンの会社で，1890年代終わりには自動車も作っていました。その後バレル・エンジンという特殊な構造のエンジンを製造していました。戦後の1930年代には，飛行機用の２ストローク・ディーゼルエンジンなども継続して開発しています。 飛行機に関しては，当初ルネ・モエノという技術者がゲテモノ機のシリーズを作っていました。例えばロータリーエンジンを機首に横向きに搭載し，左右の上下翼間にプロペラを１基ずつ駆動したり，２基のエンジンで３つのプロペラを駆動する機体を試作しています。 まぁ，それらはまともな飛行にはらなかったので，当時ライセンス製造していたイギリスのソッピース・ストラッター偵察機の技術を盗んで作ったのがこの機体です。当時では珍しい固定式の星型エンジンを搭載していましたが，そのエンジンは自社製でした。 今では全面可動の水平尾翼はジェット戦闘機に使われていますが，全面可動式の水平尾翼と垂直尾翼は，当時は既にアナクロになっていました。それでも第１次大戦を通してフランスの偵察機の1/3がこの２A.2であったとされ，商業的には成功作でした。 サ式２型として日本軍が数十機を輸入し，それを陸軍パクリコピーしたのが乙式１型です。その後，本家から怒られたので，川崎がライセンス料を支払って量産しました。その工場が各務原にあったことで，現在，博物館に実物大模型が展示されています。 詳細は，アマゾンPOD出版の拙著「飛行機の発展とその裏事情１」のフランス機編にまとめてありますので，興味ある方は買ってね。

How are you doing, Peter? It's very hot and humid in Japan. How about your country? This one looks a very comical, but was the fastest battle plane at that time like a racer. It was made only one. This "Floh" was also called "Laughing Chinese" after its front view.
