Laser Engraving Glass
I show you a new way to laser-engrave a drawing on a sheet of glass that you can view against a light background. Not the frosted look, but clean black lines like an ink drawing! I found a simple way to do this on a CO2 laser.
With this technique you can make unique window hangings, embellish framed pictures, build layered art scenes, add descriptions to display cases, create cool Moire patterns, illuminated signs, and many more things.

That looks awesome and congratulations on finding a cheaper solution for marking glass black. I tried the recipe (substituted Moge Poge for Embers glue) and used my 60w CO2 laser without success. I even tried an engraving test, again, was not successful.
Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Did the laser etch/score the glass? I assume you tried different power and speed settings? The glass is clearly chipped, and the TiO2 shows as black lines/dots within the groove. As I said in my Instructable the technique does not work well with raster images; but works well with vector files for my laser. I'm not sure why.

Why do you paint with gloves on and wash without?
You have a good point. TiO2 is chemically inert, so there should be no problem with skin contact. However, it is considered hazardous when breathing in as dust, so I did wear a dust mask. I wanted to be cautious when handling the TiO2 powder, so I wore gloves when mixing and painting the coating. My laser is enclosed with a strong venting system to the outside. Once the TiO2 is mixed in with the glue the risk of it becoming airborne is largely eliminated. But you are right, I should wear gloves during the rinse-off as well.

I gotta try this. It looks almost identical to the powder from ceramark sprays. Here's a tip, go to your local gun store. They have the really really nice, stuff bristled gun cleaning brushes that work WAY better for laser cleanup work than I've ever been able to find online etc.
