My daughter and I have such different taste in music, but when she was in college we both discovered our mutual love of Peter, Paul and Mary! We had the most fun attending their concert together! Singing at the top of our lungs in the car! A cherished moment in time! 😊. I remember 1963 when I first heard them…they were a group that endured!

Funny tidbit..my first wedding was outdoors in the back of my parents house..beautiful setting! I turned to my husband ( now my ex for along time) and i sang "Follow Me"to him! Funny (not so,)he looked at me and said..."What are you doing?" Not with a very happy look on his face lol..sure hope my sons dont see this....its just when i heard that song it brought it all back!

I saw them so many times in concert! They were always so wonderful! Mary was so beautiful and that voice! It was so sad when she passed away! I dont know if people know this but after their smaller concerts they would sty an you could talk to them! One time Mary commented on how small my feet were...and how she disliked having bigger feet! They voices were so pure! I loved going to their concerts so much! Oh and Peter kissed me...each time i talked to them...3 years in a row! So exciting for a shy teenager! They were the best..their beautiful harmony...so beautiful!

I have loved Peter Paul and Mary for over 60 years. One of the highlights in my life was seeing them in concert in Baltimore many years ago Wish there were more groups like them. Their songs were meaningful and sung superbly

Each of their solo performances is great but with the group your hearing three stories told all at once.

So many people in 2024 are loosing touch with God and reality!

One of my favorite songwriters of all time and yet this is one of the more obscure songs that didn't get a lot of radio play. Is an absolute masterpiece of a song! It breaks my heart when I just think about the words and then when I hear Matraca sing it, My heart breaks all over. Again! The story Jon mentions about Garth is interesting. Garth, who had already been in Nashville for about a year; this was 1988, he had been turned down by every label in town and he was crushed. He had a gig at the Bluebird and he was number seven in the lineup of, like, ten songwriters and the guy who was supposed to go on second was not there yet and the producer of the show asked Garth if he would go on in his place if the guy never showed up. What he didn’t know was that there were labels in the audience who had come to listen to the gentleman that did not show up. Capitol Records was in the audience, they had passed on Garth the month before. But Lynn Schultz, who was working with Capitol at the time, saw something that caught his eye. He went up to Garth’s manager, Bob Doyle, and said to him: “I think we missed something, bring him back in Monday and let’s talk.” And the rest is history.

I remember reading somewhere that when Jon asked Kathy to sing this song, she said that she wasn't sure she could, because she didn't think she could get through it without crying. I literally can't sing this song without crying. What a beautiful ode to Jon's grandparents, and to love in general. We only have one life, and so much love to give, we shouldn't waste it looking at someone else's yard. Love is always the answer, and it will guide people through the hardest of times. We need each other more than ever. We need love more than ever.

I have 5 of her CD's and this is another of her 'hit's I don't like.... {I Luvvvvvv "Back in the Saddle"...... } Think she sing's her song's better than anyone else..... Love her voice. X X X..... I have hundreds of albums. Girl of my dreams is in my top 10. The other 9 artist in my top 10 are all well known names most would recognize. Rock, folk and country stars. I am convinced this album would be in many people’s top 10 if it would have been better marketed.
