It is both weather and chip resistant! You can also use RainCoat for additional protection, if desired. However, it works wonderful, as a stand-alone, without the RainCoat. RainCoat is a weather-proofing sealer.

@@FarmhousePaint if you are going to have the piece for outside, for your own peace of mind definitely use the raincoat sealer. But I do want to say that I did a test and I just painted some birdhouses without using applying raincoat. I have not had any kind of issues

@farmhousepaint does the grease coat dry hard?

At this time, around 6k retailers and consumers are in the group, and I am sure you will find crusting mix and crackleize posts and pictures there, from various consumers and retailers. I think this would be helpful. As far as the other brand of paint that you mentioned being compatible, we are just not sure. We think it could possibly work, but you would need to test it, first. These two products were formulated for Farmhouse Paint (which is not a chalk paint). Farmhouse Paint is a premier, furniture and cabinet paint that doesn't require the use of primers, waxes and topcoats unlike chalk paint. I think you will find our facebook group to be very beneficial for you. We will be on the look out for your request to join and we look forward to helping you create something beautiful!
