Huge Thunderstorm produces 60 MPH winds over Central Arkansas!

On July 12th, 2022, thunderstorms rapidly developed across central Arkansas, quickly becoming severe, moving south-southwest across the Little Rock Metro. Multiple reports of wind damage came in as these thunderstorms moved across the state with a couple reports being as high as 60 MPH!

    This is probably the best upward lightning footage I've seen in years. I recommend watermarking it before the thieves find it! Upward lightning usually happens on the backsides of big MCSs where the big stratiform lightning flashes cause a fast electric field change that initiates upward lightning from tall structures. On rare occasions, this can occur spontaneously without a triggering flash. That appears to be the case for your final flash! If you know what county you were in, I could probably find the height of that tower which is publicly available.

      Yes it is. Actual thunderstorm was 30 miles away. You have to love Oklahoma.
