Huge Thunderstorm produces 60 MPH winds over Central Arkansas!

On July 12th, 2022, thunderstorms rapidly developed across central Arkansas, quickly becoming severe, moving south-southwest across the Little Rock Metro. Multiple reports of wind damage came in as these thunderstorms moved across the state with a couple reports being as high as 60 MPH!

After a decent chase day in Oklahoma, storm chasers Michael and Kevin were headed back home and noticed an epic and rare phenomenon known as "upward lightning". This occurs when lightning moves upward into the clouds versus from the clouds down to the ground which is "normal" lightning. This is probably the best upward lightning footage I've seen in years. I recommend watermarking it before the thieves find it! Upward lightning usually happens on the backsides of big MCSs where the big stratiform lightning flashes cause a fast electric field change that initiates upward lightning from tall structures. On rare occasions, this can occur spontaneously without a triggering flash. That appears to be the case for your final flash! If you know what county you were in, I could probably find the height of that tower which is publicly available.
