One of my absolute favorite books of all time! I keep rereading it and I love it more each time :') Thank you for creating this masterpiece, Micah Nemerever!

Really enjoyed this interview. Interesting to hear from both the author and illustrator as to how the book came together. As someone who never enjoyed the sciences as a child, I would’ve loved a book like this when I was young. Sandhyas bright colour palettes are always so appealing to me.

oh and concering that last question: most beautifully answered by Swales because that IS THE essence of psychoanalysis: UN conscious, not knowing, Knot making, etc etc

Dr. Swales is continuing Lacan's work of critisizing ego psychology and psychology in general (gene-real?) and it's as important as it has ever been! It is impressive how many psychotherapy schools seem to fear ambivalence, hate, violence, all of which we see everyday as an inherent part of humanity. Psychotherapy usually helps to forelose or disavow these so very human and problematic - but very intriuging because intrinsic to our lives and drives and motivations- focussing on empathy, the good in people, re-writing and enforcing the superego instead of analyzing it, confronting it, working with it. So- yes for more psychoanalysis , more psychoanalytic commentary.

I haven't read it yet [but I did buy it] but I've heard a lot of good reviews so I'm excited to read it, though it's a bit awkward to have one of the main characters share my dads name 💀💀

It's very true, this book is so intense!! I loved it even though the toxicity was very hard to handle because it's so intense in what Paul is thinking and feeling

Paul Rudnick is the most brilliant humorist who is writing today. His books, plays, movies, tweets as well as the writings under his pseudonym Libby Gelman-Waxner are such a gift to the public. His tweets on photos of Ivanka and Jared need to be turned into a coffee table book. His tweets helped get me through the previous presidential nightmare.

I just finished reading SPEAK, OKINAWA and watching this interview just brought her story all together for me. Great interview!
