The organist is so talented! Is this church in Philadelphia? WHERE???
Gosh.... why so many sections of empty pews in that church?!
EEEESHOBAHAHAHA
Beautiful celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏿 Thank you for sharing.
Pi
That’s amazing! Is that a particular musical accompaniment? Or just the organists amazing creation? Sad to see such low attendance.
Wish I was there !
Nora Johnson the Best
If there were an Anthem of Christianity, this should be IT.
I wish I was there.. looks so magnificent.
The organist is absolutely brilliant ( as usual). Any chance he can be asked to give us a concert in the near future I wonder?

As a Roman Catholic I longed these traditional rituals. I remember the censer it had to go up first then a swing in the middle and finally a swing lower , n and the boy thuriféraire had to censer the faithful; left then middle then right side the side of the saved! All is symbols but without them there is imo no sense in our lives. Keep on brethen Angicans and Episcopalians one day the RC will come back to olden days of celebrating God. Vatican II was a total awful waste.
Ironically Vatican 2 didn’t call for changes we see today. It was only used as a vehicle.
Still happens at the Traditional Latin Mass, at Divine Worship in the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, and at Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgies.
Lanterns and lamps Lanterns and lamps
Latimer, Ridley, and Cranmer rolling in their graves.
Perfect 🙏🏼 absolutely gorgeous and perfect 🙏🏼!! For shame that the novus ordo Catholic Church negates it's heritage that Protestants duly celebrate with reverence and full ecclesiastical splendor 😪🙏🏼🤦🏼♂️
This is the music that awaits the heavenly Midnight Mass coming this Christmas to St. Alphonsus Liguori in Baltimore.
Lovely music. Ever notice how the choir doubles of triples in size at Christmas?
Absolutely beautiful. I must visit one day!
Marvellous! Glory to God in Heaven, and on Earth, Peace, Love and Good Will be Yours, Evermore ✝️
Singing this tomorrow at Lessons & Carols, The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Bethesda, MD. Tune in at 5pm EST! This version sounds great. 👍
This is THE penultimate Advent hymn.
CONGRATULATIONS to St Mark's for holding high the liturgical and musical standards (and not descending into the crass banality of what goes on in many of America's churches today) ! God Grant You Many Years !
I play this lots. It's too good a hymn to sing only once a year.
A very outstanding choir, and a beautifully rendered advent procession.
. Thank you for sharing this celebration of Christ's birth. This service was truly amazing. God bless you. Wishing you a very merry and blessed Christmas 🎄🙏🏿
The organist is amazing!!!!!! I was born and raised Pentecostal, but I am now Baptist. I have listened to this selection over and over again. I LOVE IT! There is something so amazing and majestic about the pipe organ! I love the processional and the respect given the service of out Lord.
My mother is Baptist and my father is Pentecostal. I love the old hymns - especially with the pipe organ, but I also love worship and praise.
The chord progression in the last verse was so fire that I had to write it down LOL never thought about introducing a D♭/C♯ in there.
During Lent the crosses are shrouded and the simpler wooden candlesticks on the altar replace the more elaborate silver ones.
Beautiful vestments and altar frontal. Always coordinated.
Great music!
What a very wonderful hymn. And strange to think one may have to go across to the USA to see traditional ritual and ceremonial.
Why to the US?
I enjoyed this eucharistic service
You know a parish is pretty serious when they got a Verger
I’ve never heard this setting for this hymn, and the organist is spectacular here
I wish the Procession didn’t start to move until the singing of the hymn! But otherwise wonderful! ❤
Stunning. Thank you.
Sarum blue
Rose vestments “ Gaudete” Sunday ?
The "fiddleback" chasuble is more tridentine.
Oh my word. So uplifting. Joyous. And that playing❤
This was so fun! 👏🏻🙏👏🏻
beautiful hymn sung in a beautiful church
😊
I was very disappointed that someone didn't escort the loud individuals out of the church last night during evening prayer. Why was it allowed to go on for such a long period of time? Evening prayer is a very solemn time for believers.
The celebrant clicks at the subdeacon at the start...? 🙄
Heavenly Music ....I feel as if I am in heaven while listening to it...
The led lights in the Sanctuary are cold and off putting. Can’t you find a warm light? Also, it’s so intimate, why not just use candles. You might also light up the Clayton & Bell window at the reardos. The window is blocked of morning sunlight from the beautiful deco high rise, but mirror system and variegated lighting could work wonders. I watched the funeral of Father Alton the other day at Saint Clement’. No LED lighting, or if there is, it’s of an amber setting. Both Saint Mark and Saint Clement are Philadelphia treasures. I am so glad to see they are both going strong. What ever you do, don’t go woke. That’ll be the end of you. I’ve seen it happen to more Churches.
Episcopalians doing Mass better than most Catholics 😪🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🙏🏼❤️❤️ God bless you all for a liturgy worthy of God Almighty !
AMEN, AMEN, SAY IT AGAIN AMEN!
I felt the same 20 years ago at St. Louis Basillica. It was rather diluted.... we Anglicans are more Catholic than they are ... and the music was??? Not up to my organist standards.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Mass is not better because of a choir and incense. It's not about smells and bells. Mass is about the Holy Eucharist and all the other peripheries direct us to that grand moment. So let's not start with better or worse.
