Thomas Winkler bei der Drummer's Focus Prüfung 2011, Mittelstufe 1 Komposition/Improvisation. Das Stück unterteilt sich in 16 Takte freier Komposition, 32 Takte Komposition basierend auf einem vorgegebenen Notentext im 4/4-Takt, 16 Takte Komposition ebenfalls auf einem Notentext (mit bösen 4tel-Triolen) im 3/4-Takt und anschließend 32 Takte Improvisation.

This playalong track was taken from David Garibaldi's book "The Code of Funk". It's a simple song with a minimum of fills, but to keep the groove for long periods of time was a big challenge to me.

Generell bin ich gegen Solis in so großen Kapellen (zumindest wenn es ein soooo langes Solo ist), trotzdem geil gespielt. Wie löst du eigentlich das Problem wegen der Lautstärke? Ich hatte in der Kapelle immer irgendwie das Problem, daß ich das Kit komplett anders umstimmen mußte, als wenn ich mit meiner Rockban spiele. Bei der Rockband habe ich die Feller eher lasch angezogen, bei der Kappelle höher. Wie handhabst du das, vom Klang her kommts mir vor, als sei alles (bis auf Snare) tief gstimmt
Danke! Ehrlich gesagt waren sowohl Trommeln als auch Becken die gleichen wie ich seinerzeit in meiner Metal-Band verwendet habe. Ich habe auch nichts umgestimmt, einfach nur leiser gespielt. Heute würde ich für solche Geschichten ein höher gestimmtes Set mit einschichtigen Fellen und dünneren Becken verwenden. Und um einiges dezenter spielen...

Love your use of the splashes, and the ghost note work. Beautiful playing. Do work on your intro though, it didn't sound very clean, the bassdrum notes that is.
