Wow. Does that cause any itchiness? I get so much dandruff flakes in my scalp after a few day of washing🥲
The longest I have gone without washing my locs was 3 weeks. I just decided to prolong washing it in an attempt to minimize the frizz. Averagely I wash them once in 2 weeks.
Your hair is thriving sis. So beautiful
i almost 3 years and still have frizz. and your locs have really grown
you hair grew a lot!
How do you avoid inadvertently connecting hair from the adjacent loc? I mess that up A LOT if I don't clip each loc away from the others. You do it with no extra clips and without looking! Wow!!!
I had traditional locs for a decade and the frizz never went away. I learned to embrace it
please add the link for the one in the case
Thanks so much for sharing. Your instructions are so helpful
Very beautiful 🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾😃😃I am soon. How many do you have?? I will be starting on short hair tho
@@ArmeldaAllen-dh1qf I haven’t counted my locs yet😭
Thid video is recorded too low. Can't hear whats being said
Sorry about that. Will do better next time.
You did amazing! There's nothing like doing your own hair.
Will you Count your locs?
As soon as I can I am!😩😩
Your hair is beautiful. I'm also struggling with keeping my grid, since I retie my hair myself.
The shampoo did a great job of cleansing the hair. Looks beautiful
Your hair looks beautiful, it’s really growing a lot. Bless
Thank you so much 🤗
It looks like you gathered too few hair strands to start the locks in the first place. - Typically tiny locks are unhealthy locks. - If the density on that area is low, you have to gather a lot more hair in that area to give it a stable foundation. - Don’t go more than 7 weeks to retighten your locks. The edges will suffer - let me explain. For example when people get braids and don’t take them out for months, the weight of the braids pulls on the hair strand of their edges and thins them out. - while I say this, each person has their own journey. Good job on starting your own locks.👏🏾
@@MarissaJOAT thank you so much. I definitely agree with you. For my edges I have decided to gather a few more hair like you’re saying.
I will try to do it myself
How often do you wash your microlocs
Once a week
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👏👏👏👏
Motivation 😅
Starting soon
I’m a breast cancer survivor as well as a professional Mammographer and I’d like to thank you for bringing awareness to such an important topic! 🙏🏾💕
Thank you too!
This is amazing! I love your channel! I have been planning to retie my own hair because I have a lot of holes and V’s in my hair. This inspired me to believe I can do my own!
This was so informative and exciting to see. The way that I celebrated with you! I felt like I achieved something with you! Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
@@letitiablanco9405 thank you. It’s a celebration for all of us loc enthusiasts 😂
Did you braid the root
@@GL-nq3li no. I twisted the entire hair. No braids at all.
Nice
Get a crochet needle and crochet it where you see the holes. It's a game changer and now I can't go without it!
I’m not sure how to do it. I need to see the technique
How is the maintenance?
@@elenaperez8120 I’ve been doing well with the maintenance. I recently found a way to retighten them actually.

@@iamblackena thank you. 🙂
Hi, do i pick up at the same stop point for the following retie?. Ex: my last entry point is at 3, Next retie do I start at 3 again or 6? I’m totally confused trying to learn. 😅
Well, with a four point rotation you do not need to remember where you stopped in your previous retie.
What if you are one or 2 points away from where the hair should lie but its too tight to continue?
@@domlianne I usually leave it alone. I prioritize my hair over how it should lie. Then when I’m done and it’s proving stubborn to lie how I want it to lie, I use a clip to arrange it how I want. Truthfully, with microlocs you can easily manipulate it to lie how you want even though the rotation is t complete
Good for you on doing it yourself. I had to start my own locs for the same reason. I got so frustrated after being stood up, right before I had an event. I just started them myself. I had been doing research for months of course, but then I decided I would also do my own reties.
@@feeneishia73 Exactly. You are way more powerful than you think. We’ve got this! Our hair is our strength❤️
@iamblackena thank you. I'm learning that on this journey. I'm also making this journey my own. I am not allowing traditional rules to bring me down. I'm 51 and know my hair.
@@feeneishia73 I am really proud to read this. Thank you and please keep it up. I will be here to hear more about your journey.
@@iamblackena I am very excited about it actually. My husband is my number one fan. We actually had the same idea. I just did a retwist last night and I'm even more in love. I don't like the term, "ugly phase." but I understand it. I have moments when I don't feel attractive because I am surrounded by long hair Sistas, but it's ok. That's not my journey.

Hi I have had sister locks for 9 months and this month I have noticed the exact same thing, I am due a re lock today I intend to tell her to either join the front whilst leaving the thinner hair line out.
@@marciaphillip I agree. I’m leaving out my thin edges to breathe.
They have to avoid retightening too tight.
Great tip. Thanks❤
Nice work. But i hear people say loose braids aren't professional?
I’m not sure about that
❤
There is just something so feminine about microlocs. They are gorgeous.
This is so unfair and highly unprofessional. Why don't you tag who they are so others won't fall victim to this. ❤
Beautiful ❤ did u braid down a little then Start the twist?
@@nikkigreen9570 no, I did not. The twist was all the way from the base. That’s why it kept unraveling but I endured it because I didn’t want a braidloc
@@iamblackena thank you
Beautiful! Do you know approximately how many locs you have?
@@ogechio1609 no, I don’t.
