Mux Switches on ECUmaster
Looking at using mux switches on an #Ecumasterblack. If you need to add switches to your standalone ECU but are running short of inputs, this is a great way to add more functionality with fewer inputs. We dive into how this works, how its wired and how the Ecumaster software behaves with this feature.
The fundamentals apply to any ECU that has MUX switching feature, however the software and setup may look a little different.

Made this video based on a forum post asking how to get ECU temp displayed on their Ecumaster ADU7 from their Ecumaster EMU BLACK over CAN BUS. That data is not in the standard CAN stream, but it can be added easy enough. Neat little feature I hooked up for @augmented_racing 's FD RX7, using a Haltech Elite 1500. We replaced the factory gauge sender with a motorsports 0-10 Bar sender so the ECU can monitor oil pressure, but we still wanted the #mazdaspeed cluster to work. Using a general purpose output wire to the gauge signal to the cluster, a user table in the ECU and some math, and the gauge works perfectly! ...

This was surprisingly hard to fit into a 1 minute video! If you have changed your injector size you will need to do this before attempting to start the engine. I see this on help forums a lot when people forget to do both steps, or can't find/don't know where to enter the data. I mess around with an ECUMaster ADU7 dash. Tried to replicate Andre from @hpa101 “gt3 style” layout, just to explore the limits of the software. How does the gain/loss function work on this? Thought it would be easy to do the predicted lap time minus the best lap time but they are not available in the numbers section
How have you foud the pmu when PWM controlling a fan or fuel pump over an extended period of time?
I can’t say I have yet run a fan or pump PWM prolonged aside from soft starts. At least not long enough to have a solid opinion yet. I have a lot of faith in the hardware though, has proven very reliable for me

@FlooritGarage I didn't think the 16 had enough outputs to run everything.
It's always a battle. Relays helped increase the capability, but then you're adding relays lol. If you were going to run a whole car a PMU24 is a better option.
Looking to get a pmu24 to replace the fusebox on my s13. Is it possible for it to control a/c?
yes, one output for the AC clutch and an input for AC request from the HVAC head unit. I have 2 S13 front harnesses on my bench right now using a PMU16 to replace all the wiring forward of the firewall

So in order to get this to work you had to add a relay?
I didn't have to but since I was limited on available outputs, I added a relay. ADU has two low side outputs which are great for relays
Do you know if the switch that Ecumaster is selling has the resitors built in?
ecumasterusa.com/products/mux-switch-board?_pos=3&_sid=484bdc76c&_ss=r&variant=43871086772465 This is their mux board, it has 3 switch inputs on it. The 8 position rotary switch is a simpler 0-5V output, not what the video is about.
