EEGER BEAVER IN MY BACKYARD
Переглядів 5069 годин тому
Fort Bragg, California. 09/30/2024 The Eeger Beaver Tree Service came today and removed a Cryptomeria from my back yard. It was a beautiful tree that at first had the profile of a giant teddy bear. Forces of the Pacific storms had bent the trunk so that it was growing toward my home and it was shading my whole back yard. I have hope that a new tree will develop from the trunk and that with care...

PLAY MISTY FOR ME

September 20, 2024. A misty day at Pudding Creek Beach in Fort Bragg, California. The fog rolls in thick and heavy. The iconic wooden train trestle looms in the distance, its silhouette barely visible through the dense fog. The air is filled with the salty tang of the ocean, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore is both soothing and powerful. As you look to the east, you can see blu...

Fort Bragg, California 09/12/2024. About 10 minutes north of the Noyo Bridge in a town called Cleone. MacKerricher State Park. I walked the scenic boardwalk to Laguna Point. It's about .6 Miles out and back. It's a great place to watch birds and sea mammals. Whale watching can be excellent but not today.

🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏 Excellent job ❤
Thanks for watching and your comment!
Beats me why people plant tree's in their gardens or on their land because you just know 1 day it is going to cost them or someone else a truck load of money to have it cut down.
It definitely requires serious preplanning. when I moved in it was a nice feature in my backyard. Several pacific storms later and it was becoming a hazard. It was a beautiful tree but I'm glad it's gone.
And don’t forget, a lot of the Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russel movie Overboard was filmed there before the new bridge went in. Thanks for the video.
Lots of filming here. It's a beautiful area. Thanks for watching!! and thanks for commenting!
@@geebee2576 yes, made many trips to Fort Bragg and remember Noyo Harbor back in the ‘90s was kind of sketchy and has changed a lot. One thing nice about Fort Bragg is it takes some effort to go there so it’s not totally destroyed yet!!
Cool video Gee Bee. I just liked and subscribed. I’m from NE Pennsylvania and we don’t have anything interesting like this. 🇺🇸👍🏻
Thank you for watching and commenting. I have seen video of tapping trees for maple syrup in Pennsylvania, That's pretty cool!
Wow Wow Wow!! That's where I will be painting when I head over. Thanks for sharing! Epic!
There are multiple spots and angles to play with I like the one rock, I call the rhino It looks like an elephant but then has a big horn on it's snout!
@@geebee2576 I am sure there are! Timing will be everything and of course I will have to deal with whatever the weather has in store that day.
Thank you. I enjoyed that. It looks so comfortable and at home. I visited a few years ago. I need to return again.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
My family and I love Pomo Bluffs. Thanks for sharing.
That was absolutely beautiful Gee Bee! You are so blessed to have the opportunity to capture the ocean at the perfect moment.
Thank you Gerald!!
I wonder how many latins live there now cause when i was a boy there i think there was only like 4 family's maybe 5
It's a large part of our population now. I enjoy their influence on the community!
Perfect misty sea! Love it!
It really is!
Thanks for showing the artist!! Casper was a favorite beach for my family as a kid.
It was cool seeing her there
No ghosts, but I know of at least two different people's ashes that have been scattered there!
Yes, there have been many memorials and weddings at this beach! Thanks for the comment!
In neighboring towns we call it fart Bragg.
When I moved here my step kids called it Fort Drag. I like it here.
I live in a neighboring town and never hear it being called that. It’s undergone a renewal since the lumber mill closed and downtown is thriving with coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries. Lots of art, too!
Fart Bragg has become a place for criminal activity. The town has become run down. Fishing is heavily regulated. Don't buy gasoline there, the prices are 3 times the normal high cost of California fuel. The town runs out of potable water in drought seasons. Prices for everything is sky high.
Do you life there Gary?
Do you ever see Artists painting around the coast in Ft Bragg etc?
Yes, it seems we get more galleries every year. They like the glass beach area! Thanks for the comment!
@@geebee2576 Do you see an artist's set up with easels and painting in the outdoors?
@@geraldskinner63 Fairly often
I started my newest video with a pic of an artist at Caspar Beach. ua-cam.com/video/pYKxaIa_cco/v-deo.html
@@geebee2576 Saw it! Thanks again Gee Bee! I will be getting over there at some point to do some painting myself.
Was one of my best field trips when i went to school there looking at the tide pools😊😊
It's a special place!
Great video that brings back fond memories of Glass Beach the Skunk Train and fried abalone. My wife's grandparents were longtime residents in Fort Bragg and we visited often in the 1980s. Many of my afternoons were spent in the harbor fishing from the docks and eating fried lingueca on a stick from the deli.. My wife and I used to eat sub sandwiches from the Red Caboose. We're hoping to revisit the area within the next year....thank you.
Thanks for the comment and watching my video! A lot has changed since the days you mention.
Nice music
I wish I could have stayed for more. Next time!
Beautiful and thanks for sharing!
Thanks you for watching and your comment!
You missed a short walk on the beach ,its. worth it.
I usually get plenty of beach walks. Just got a new Knee and the sand is rough! I'll be back soon! Thanks for the Comment!
Not bad typical US country road. Does Hwy 128 between Hwy 1 and Hwy 101 section it have any weather road conditions issue during January?
Highway 128 typically has a few days to a week of closure due to flooding on the Navarro River. Between Comptche and Highway 1. Thanks for the question and for watching my video. Highway 128 is a much prettier drive than 20 and goes through some wine country and a few small towns.
🌻 ❤ beautiful! ❤🌻
Thank you! 😊
Thats nice! Perfect moment of classic north coast.
First time to the beach since my new knee. Good to be out again! Thanks for the comment!
@@geebee2576 That went right over my head Gee Bee (like most things Lol) I'm glad you are able to get back out there, take your time..Be safe!
Beautiful and cool im roasting in santa clarita sure wish i was there 😊😊
Our favorite place to stay in Ft. Bragg is the Harbor Lite Lodge. We also enjoyed lunch at Capt. Flint's, but it closed years ago. Since we left California over 5 years ago, I have missed our visits to ft. Bragg. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Harbor lite has an awesome view!! Noyo Fish Company has shrimp won tons that many compare to Capt Flints. Thanks for the Comments and viewing my video!
Fun 😂😮 ...love your choices of music - always perfect compliment to the videos 😊

A short walk from there is the Fort Bragg Guest House Museum. It is also an excellent place to visit. ua-cam.com/video/DnrMsxv1q9M/v-deo.html
@@geebee2576 Thank you! 💖
Seems like I've been there, if I was it was a long time ago. I vaguely remember seeing some model trains. Which is weird because I would dig that as well!
I've walked by it many times. $5 to get in. Didn't want to pay that. Now I see it is worth it!!
Great ocean view. Cheers.

Nice sample of Mendocino Coast bridges.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
As a painter, I am always looking for these types of moving shadow scenarios. It's great fun in outdoor painting to capture progressing light or shadows. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Ha! I had a Black Phoebe make a nest above a light fixture on my front porch this year. She finally got use to me coming and going and would stay on the nest most of the time. Long story short..she had the young ones, and they moved on when ready.
Years ago I had just taken a biding class and of coarse would get excited to find a new one!! I was in Victoria BC Canada and saw my first Black Phoebe, I was excited then I came home and found them all over. It was still a lifer!!
Driven that road a hundred times. Used to live just off of it.
Can be a wonderful drive or a terrible one!! I enjoy it most of the time. Thanks for the comment!
Home, i miss it.
I'm glad I brought you back for a memory!! Thanks for the comment!
Welcome back! I thought it was odd that I wasn't getting your new videos, now I know why. Here's to quick healing!

Thank you. That was fun. I was there several years ago with some friends. We had a good dinner to finish our weekend at the Wharf restaurant. We also took the Skunk Train, visited the Museum and an antique shop, and we were there for the annual Fish Fry Dinner at the Portugese Hall.
That is awesome! I moved here in 1986. Planned on staying 2 years. I'm still here. I love this town. Thanks for watching and the comments!
