Wish I knew about this when I fought it with a DotN stone +9. I hate those little snakes too much to want to deal with this boss.

I just tried this against Itsumade, and it works amazingly. Thanks. Something I also discovered while trying it is that you can do this for as long as you have Umbral Bullets, meaning if you have 3 Umbral Bullets equipped, you can grapple a yokai for a total of up to 3 more times. Sadly this doesn't work on bosses, I think. I just tried it on Ryomen Sakuna after grappling him and he just recovers his ki.

I'm glad I caught this vid cos i also believe that my frost phantom is glitched too. I finally figured out how to defeat frost phantom by destroying the runes while the monster's down. The 1st rune I destroy is the largest one just inside the stone structure. Destroy that & it stays destroyed. The 2nd rune is positioned above some rocks & the only way to reach it is with the leviathan axe & the 3rd being ground level but just around the corner from the second one. Now, like I've said I destroy the 1st rune easily then I destroy the 2nd rune but by the time I've downed the creature for the third time & go to destroy the final rune, the 2nd rune comes back again & I'm thinking huh??? Now I've tried destroying the runes in different order & it's the same thing. Destroy the 1st, destroy the 2nd but by the time I get to the 3rd, the 2nd rune becomes active again. & I found myself in a endless battle with this phantom. I did eventually go on youtube & seen many videos on how to destroy it & all the videos show that once you destroy all runes & you face the monster again, kratos just grabs it in his hand & rips it apart (cutscene kill) but for me the 2nd rune becomes active again, as I destroy the third then I have to get into another battle with the creature again & just ending up in a loop. Am I doing something wrong? Is my game well & truly glitches? Has anybody experienced this in their playthrough? The worse part is, the creature isn't even that hard to defeat. I just got so frustrated that I ended up just avoiding the creature & leaving the area. I'd like to come back to it but where am i going wrong???

I thought the same thing which is why I looked this up but there are actually pillars around (farther than you think) that you destroy while he is under ground to take away his health. You can only destroy them while he is unlocked and underground!

I wanted to do a playthrough on highest difficulty but it will take alot of time & I wanna upload it so I choose 2nd highest difficulty,So far the experience been great I like the graphics & the combat even more especially how I can interrupt my strikes w/dodges & parries. Hope you enjoy ! :D .
