Have I got to remove rubber seal off the tank It is hard rubber with old age
Do they have square body parts? Might be worth driving by
Its a lot easier to do it this way - ua-cam.com/video/yOJRkDIlUJA/v-deo.html - just dig a hole at each end of the pipe. Just make an attachment on the mole expander to pull the pipe with. After it is layed you can move a full length by hand without trouble. That way you don't ask the pipe to go round corners! John.
Wow still kicking. Good to see. Maybe you change the name of you 'ota to Jeep. Just Empty Every Pocket. Nice to see you back buddy.
For all your "calibration" requirements, just let me know 😅😅
Lovin the videos mate great memory’s of Saudi 👍🏻 GavO
Finally pulled yer finger out yer a'hole then :D
You seem to be wanting to bend the pipe more than you need to. MDPE is strong pipe. it wont go around a 90 degree bend. I would have thought after the first two attempts you would have realised this!
Any news on the Haflinger refurbishment?
😎🙌💯
Well done! Really like it
Yallah, we need to have a last outing in Dave & P sometime. Have a great Christmas and new year. May all your beers be lukewarm.
Great to see you back. Merry Christmas and hope you don't get any cold weather this year like me. -35 here this am at work. See ya in the movies
Merry Christmas fella! Glad everything went smoothly with the FJs... really enjoyed watching the daily tracker updates! So can't wait to see them fully registered and road legal. Be good to see you at some point?
Nice to see you and Priscilla back in your workshop in the UK 😍😍 regards from Kenya and Merry Christmas ⛄🎄
Thanks guys! Merry Christmas from a rather damp Somerset! 😁
Mate, don't apologise , life is hectic. I love your posts, cant wait to see the rest, just to say Happy Christmas to you and the family 😀
Thank you! I'll get caught up soon! Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
Found your channel from bluelandy and your content is amazing you earned yourself a subscriber
Thanks buddy! Plenty more videos to come!
I want one :D
Priscilla will be here when you visit 😘
@@RorysWorkshop can't wait
I'm confused on something. In a previous video, I thought you said you didn't want to remove the input shaft for fear of shims dropping into the transmission sump. However in this video you removed it to line up the clutch assembly. What am I not understanding? Thanks!
Yes I thought there maybe shims to ensure the input shaft gear was aligned correctly but there aren't don't worry! Having the input shaft removed it is so easy to align the clutch! 😁
Rory, greetings from America! I live in Ohio, and recently bought a TE20. I'm going to have to split it as it needs a rear engine seal, and will replace the input shaft seal while it's split. Love your videos!
Hi Steven and Kim! Thanks so much for your love and comment! I have some Ferguson videos coming up and plenty planned in the future! One day I will make it to Ohio! Let me know how you get on splitting yours!
Hi
Hello 👋
FJ43 pulled over by a FJ Cruiser xD
I thought it was funny, sadly we weren't allowed to take pictures.
What is that ear ring!
Suntan cream...turns out it didn't sink in as much as I'd have thought...🤦♂️
Do you and Phil bust ghosts when your not working on the cars? I know of a number you could call 😅
How'd you guess!?
Good old days when you could do that in English scrappers.....
I miss that too! It was great to hark back to the days when you could scramble around scrap yards! I haven't been to any in the UK for a while now but I suspect it has changed an awful lot!
Love your Manta and hope you can get it sorted and back in regular use soon. I bought my first car at age 17, a brand new 1973 Manta Rallye in proper Opel Chrome Yellow with black stripes and hood (bonnet) right off the Buick dealer lot. Have missed that car my entire life, so hard to find a decent one anymore here in the states. Cheers!
Thank you! It's one of my favourite cars! I think mine was a Rallye originally in that orangey mustardy colour they did. I didn't realise they sold any in the US till I saw one in the background in Back to the Future. There are a few Opel GTs in the USA I have seen which if I couldn't have bought an A I would have had one of those instead.
After 38 years ownership I am selling my '75 red manta A GT/E. Something for you?
Sorry I missed your comment! I'd love another A but sadly I don't have the room for another car but good luck with the sale! Send me some details of the car and I'll send it to some of my friends for you.
Hi, any update on the Haf rebuild? Cheers Jon.
Hi Jon! I haven't filmed anything on the Haf for a long time now! I did rescue it from a dyke when I was last in the UK. Sadly I didn't have time to film an update but I will in the new year, I can tell you its running and driving great having gone through considerable work to the running gear and is still an absolute hoot to drive!
How do you keep your self from giving Sammi some cash and just fix it yourself with his gear. I would have gone nuts seeing the lack of preparedness for the welding job. Tire left on, no cover over the brake line or knuckle. did he even look at the other side to see the proper way to mount it? Bye the way nice to see you two are doing fine. How about some more store tours? Liked the outdoor/camping video you did eons ago. Later.
I'm very particular who works on any of my cars, you will see in a future video that Sami does carry out some work for me. The welding place was just awesome, it was exactly how I expected it to be. I too was concerned for the brake pipe which we covered and the knuckle had a good layer of oil on it to prevent and slag from sticking. All in it was good fun!
Jesus, no goggles and welding?!
He said he could see perfectly....🤷♂️
Proper sketchy
Did you expect anything else?
could you show us how to get the input shaft out of a massy fe35 diesel 23c I am struggling to get the input shaft out it moves about 1/2" then stops what am I doing wrong please help any advice would be much appreciated
The input shaft out of the gearbox? I'm pretty sure it should unbolt and practically fall out, you may have to lift it a little. I will have a look at some cutaway images of the gearbox to refresh my memory and get back to you.
These videos are great!
Thanks mate, it's been a great little series to work on with the trials and tribulations 🤣😭
Thought you would've jumped on the opportunity to make a rod end joke..
I like to leave some, but not all don't worry!
The workplace abuse continues! 🤣
I have no idea what you mean 🤔🤭
Howdy. Good Day Eh. The wire trick was a good call. Usually have to resort to that when installing rear hitches on box framed vehicles. Nice to keep that wire handy. ya never know when you 'll need a garrote for sentry removal :) or a bolt pulled into place. Use as snare wire for munchies when your stranded and your cell is dead or expedient hose clamp etc. good luck with the shackle bushings and pray they don't have a steel sleeve on the out side of the bushing. I think I heard you say they were not that way but still fingers crossed. Thanks again, off to work at the salt mine. Later
Pickle fork might have saved you some trouble on the ball joints but good work
Yeah it would have in the end, they're not a common tool out here they generally apply liberal amounts of hammer action. When we eventually found the tool it had clearly been in the back of the store for some time!
That's nothing go and live in northern Australia where the average temperature hovers close to 50C for most of the day for at least 9 months of the year.
Bloody hell! I doubt I'd be able to survive in that heat! I bet those three months where the temperature drops its bloody lovely!
@@RorysWorkshop not just heat either plagues of mosquitoes and crocodile infested waters
I can't wait to visit! I've heard everything wants to kill you but it's a beautiful place and great for offroading too!
Crackin video rory cant wait to see more
Thank you!
Hi guys. Enjoyed this vid very much. Had the the same issues you have had on ball joint (tie rod ends) removal. My dad showed mt the two hammer method many years ago (big hammer held against ball joint one one side and then beat the joint on the opposite side) usually only one or two hits needed. Of course pressure up or down on the threaded portion made it work better. Also try taking the castle nut off and reversing it on the threaded end when jacking, but make sure it is flush with the end of the threads. On the Fordson Super Major web site we call the parts and tools from India, "From the land of nearly right" And nice to see Phil advancing in his apprenticeship training. Also Wrecking yards all always great to check out. Thanks Rory
Good Day eh. Is Phil just a camera holder man or mechanically inept?. Only time I see him touch a tool is to pass one to you 😉😂 Good Luck guys. Nice to see you catching up on issues. And I see you are employing the three F's in your repair program Function before Fashion or your F----d. Your not building a show vehicle so to me its redundant to build it to wanker youtube status. Thanks and have a good one.
Ahh I figured it out, Phil is your apprentice 😁
Phil prefers the driving aspect rather than the repair, much the same as me but I repair my own cars so I can buy more....its a vicious cycle 🤣
Well I don't know about your method of dealing with the bureaucratic there (inspectors) but here you don't give them what they want you end up paying one way or another. Its not worth trying to pull a quick one. Just fix the damn thing its only money and time and you get to add more content on fixing the jeep cj wanna bee's. Nudge nudge wink wink say no more ;) Thanks guys with regard to the Radiator hoses maybe your gonna have to haggle better and bring in the odd cold drink or box of doughnuts. Hugs don't seem to cut it anymore. Thanks again. Oh I see Phil has the same posture driving as I do at 6 ft 5 the damn windshield frames are never high enough
Supre, splendid masterpiece-
Glad you think so!
Harry said you look like alan carr
I've had worse compliments 😜
Sup rory
Hello.....Harry
Sounds like major maintenance time. Good luck
Keep watching mate 😜
Nah I have seen that Color n it can be original they had many different nuances of grey I think 🤔
Had same problems whit my Fergie clutch when I had one , I attached heavy load and drove around and after a little while it got solved , it had been sitting for a couple of years before that .
I tried working mine hard with a plough for a day but it didn't work sadly as the rear main crank seal was still leaking and getting into to clutch causing stiction. It'll get sorted in the next few videos, thanks for watching!
Hi Buddy. Thanks for the update. Oh the joys of working on machines. I feel going in your( when your there ;) ) garage/shop is like being at home in mine. Bench full of other projects and everything in its place (at least to me) others totally confused. Keeps people from wanting to borrow stuff as they can never see clearly what is what and where. Hope the work area your going to is uneventful and safe.
Haha I know exactly what you mean, every time I'm home I reorganise one section if the workshop we will get there! There's certainly no shortage of projects and always something to do! Thanks for staying around Jim!
Patience of a saint! I would have definitely thrown some tools and sunk some beer by now. 👏
Haha thanks! It's testing for sure at times! But you can only play with the cards you've been dealt.
Shame it’s been messed with
How so?
