For the millionth time. The reason the new testiment correlates with the old testiment is because the men who wrote it had read the old testiment.

It's a greater standard than before that is being implemented in the new Testament now. The pharisees were only able to really continue the original law, which, was eventually becoming legalistic through making their own commands greater than God's. Yet, it wasn't their interpretation of the Law, it was their own false practice which went too far as opposed to the heart of the Law, justice, mercy, and faith.
