Hi James! On the rivers, I think the official start to the season is the 1st of October. Canals it's all year round. However people tend to leave them alone in the summer as they can exhaust themselves in the heat and low oxygen. I tend to start end of September as it's my bday and bit cooler 🤣

Hi there! Most of Newtown is free. Other than the BAA (Birmingham anglers association. ) They have a low price season ticket and some Great spots. Caersws is probably the best, but there is a significant difference in price, due the regular stocks they do. Llanidloes club is also great value. Hope this helps 😁

They are a great lure 😁 Just be careful with the little pike as they have really nasty treble hooks.

They make some great crank baits, had some decent pike too!

Hi guys. I do indeed fish the mid wales canals. I don't tend to reveal exactly as unfortunately, I do see other anglers taking pike out the canals. They're well within there right too. But there's some beauty's in there which I try and protect the best I can. But I do leave some hints, probably easily find out where with Google earth 😉

Those perch in that size canal are a good size . In terms of fishing for pike then you are catching them as a side catch to the perch and whilst waiting till September is good then as long as you are returning them safely , as you do with all your fish , it's fine in my view. I like hto I have a rockfish , and a hooligan and for 35 quid they are great

@PaulFrancis-bj6vp I've had a canal pike on with that rod in one of my perch videos and one 6lb one that got me in angling times 😁. It was a wild ride 🤣 as long as its not a double figure canal croc. You should be fine 😁

Hi Ronnie, I do say in the title, this is the bung and indicator technique. Not the traditional approach I usually use on the fly rod. But it is an effective one 😁

There is some great free fishing on the river in town, further up is more BAA waters. But there is a great pool called the fachwyn, you can buy day tickets at the railway pub near the train station. Tight lines! 🎣

And i tend to avoid using the net on small jacks when using double trebles as they can damage them self's in the net with the hooks even lose a eye so best to gill them is and when possible but keep up the good work 👏 👍
